Funny, mysterious, romantic

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene where all the players arrive, knocking on the front door one by one while a psychic is trying to hold a seance.

It was fairly easy to see a lot of the stuff coming, but it sometimes made it better when it happened.

Excellent!

This was so good! It was my first Jennifer Cruise book & I will be looking for more. This story had everything you could possibly want - suspense, comedy, romance & ghosts! Now if you don't like paranormal elements in a story don't get this book & complain, you shouldn't get it at all. But if you think a ghost story is fun this is for you. There are 2 kids that provide laugh out loud moments throughout the story & great secondary characters that are pure entertainment! Despite being polar opposites the love story between the 2 main characters was believable and romantic. The ghosts were both interesting and scary. I loved how Jennifer Cruise built the suspense in such a believable way that I was as worried about murder and wondering how it would all fit together as I would be in a straightforward romantic suspense without a paranormal element. I do not ever take the time to write a review unless I am very impressed with a book. I give Maybe This Time 5 stars!

The narrator did a great job with the many characters in the story. She was able to give different voices that we're easy to tell who was speaking when without getting confused. Some people might find a couple of the voices annoying which is why I gave the narrator 4 stars instead of 5. However, I personally had no problem with the narrator.

I highly recommend this book!

Dug it to death!!

The humor and connections within this book makes the entire store work. I laughed. I cheered and I teared up. Great job Ms. Cruise. Wonderful narration work Ms. Dawe. I'm a long time fan of Lorelei King who do great character work. I'm now a fan of Angela Dawe who did great work with this book. You made this project sound like a old radio theater show. BRAVO!!

Good book

Jennifer Cruise writes books that entertain. It is joy to listen to her stories. This book was good - not out of the park good, but entertaining and satisfying.

I Listen Again and Again

MAYBE THIS TIME is one of Jennifer Crusie's best books, with an ideal mixture of comedy and heart, as well as deft plotting and sparkling prose. Angela Dawe is one of my all time favorite narrators, and she excels with material that has some comedy in it. All in all, the audio edition of MAYBE THIS TIME is everything I want in an audio book.

Quite Crusielike.

I liked the story and the characters. But it dragged in the middle and I thought 'come on, let's go on already'. But I was quite satisfied with the last quarter, when all the people started showing up, and the story picked up again.
and the paranormal side actually wasn' irretating or distracting. I quite liked it.
And finally the narrator was greate.

Wonderful!

This book was purchased inexpensively and I was honestly expecting it to be hard to follow with a shallow story line. It was a pleasant surprise that it had layers, characters I enjoyed & sympathized with, and it kept my attention throughout! Highly recommended!!

Definetly This Time

I've always loved Jennifer Crusie. I think I read or listened to almost all of her books. I listened to Maybe This Time years ago, but I saw it on sale and wanted to hear again. I'm so glad I did. I loved the story, it was as fun as the first time around. The quirky characters, the midwestern setting and a certain degree of creepiness makes this book a winner!!
