Publisher's summary

Andie Miller is ready to move on with her life. She wants to marry her fiancé and leave behind everything in her past, especially her ex-husband, North Archer. But when Andie tries to gain closure with him, he asks one final favor of her. A distant cousin has died and left North the guardian of two orphans who have driven away three nannies already, and things are getting worse. He needs someone to take care of the situation, and he knows Andie can handle anything....

When Andie meets the two children, she realizes the situation is much worse than she feared. Carter and Alice aren’t your average delinquents, and the creepy old house where they live is being run by the worst housekeeper since Mrs. Danvers. Complicating matters is Andie’s fiancé’s suspicion that this is all a plan by North to get Andie back. He may be right, because Andie’s dreams have been haunted by North since she arrived at the old house. And that’s not the only haunting....

Then her ex-brother-in-law arrives with a duplicitous journalist and a self-doubting parapsychologist, closely followed by an annoyed medium, Andie’s tarot card–reading mother, her avenging ex-mother-in-law, and her jealous fiancé. Just when Andie’s sure things couldn’t get more complicated, North arrives to make her wonder if maybe this time things could just turn out differently....

This is one of those books that's so good, you want all your friends to read it.

Jennifer Crusie is one of my favorite authors. She always gives you just enough of what you need at the right moment in the story.

Angela Dawe knows just how each of the characters feel. It's as if she is that person...Great Job!

I adore Crusie's books

This is the 2nd time I've listened to this book on Audio. I absolutely love this narrator. She can voice so many different characters, with each having their own sound.

Crusie's books are go to reads for me when I want funny, quirky charters. Plus her writing style is flawless.

Loved it. Very entertaining

What did you love best about Maybe This Time?

It's a great story. The story has suspense and humor. I have listened to it several times.I'm hoping that J C completes Haunting Alice. I can't wait to hear her story especially if it is read by Angela Dawe.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All of them, but if i have to pick one, it would probably be Alice.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Angela is great. She tells a visual story that you can really get into and all the characters have their own voice.

Jennifer Crusie does it again...

Would you listen to Maybe This Time again? Why?

I would listen to "Maybe Next Time" again because the story was just that good and also to catch any bits I may have missed the first time.

What did you like best about this story?

Great plot and the characters were a hoot!

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was the first time I had listened to Angela Dawe and loved it! Certainly won't be the last one for me...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was hooked from the very beginning...

Any additional comments?

I didn't think think Jennifer Crusie could ever top "Faking It" or "Welcome to Temptation" but this is my new favorite!

Not generally my kind of book

This was my first Jennifer Crusie novel and it was very different than the type of book I usually read/listen to. As such, it was a bit "fluffier" but it was nice to not have rewind all the time for things I might have missed. The story was amusing and the pace was good. The narrator did a pretty good job, but some of her attempts at men's voices were distracting and didn't seem to match the mood of the book at the time. All in all, though, I'd pick up another of Ms Crusie's books for a break in my more laborious reading.

My favorite Cruise book!

Everything about this book was wonderful. The characters were each brought to life by the narrater. I became so invested in each one. There was Jennifer’s classic humor, the storyline was engaging. There was no denying there were ghosts!! I have Re-read this book numerous times and I enjoy it just as much each time!!

Fantastic narrator, fun ghost story with a love twist

This isn’t a typical romance novel, but it is smart and funny, and just as amazing as you would expect from Jennifer Crusie.
