Brand meets his dream girl in college - a half-human, half-leopard shapeshifter who cannot shift. Werewolves and cats are natural enemies but the power of their sexual chemistry overwhelms them. She steals his heart and makes him whole. When she abandons him it fractures his world, and he knows no woman can ever take her place. Though many seek his attention, he is cold and unattainable.
The love they share is soul deep, but the fate of Charma’s family lies in her hands. The memory of every heated touch they share will cut out both their hearts when she leaves him, but to save them all she must run. After nine years of desolation and heartbreak, Charma is back. She risks forfeiting her life to warn Brand of an impending attack, but she doesn’t hesitate. Brand has her in his arms once more, and he will never lose her again.

Missouri Mom with lots of Opinions! Love to listen to Audio Book Series!
After nine years, Charma comes back to warn Brand of an upcoming attack. Being together with Brand again Charma is now in the life she always wanted with who she always wanted.
This is the newest book in the Mating Series. If you have not read this series and you love werewolves, you should check this series out. I started reading this series after I got into her New Species series, which is one of my top picks.
I enjoy Laurann Dohner's writing, characters and story lines. I am enjoying this series and look forward to upcoming books.
G.C. VanCoudts narration is great. Her voice is perfect for this series and made the book that much more enjoyable.
L Dohner is the queen of shifter sexiness! Mating Brand is the 3rd in the wolf shifter series, and like it's companion books it was hot, super romantic and pretty funny, which was an added bonus. I'm also a major fan of the narrator, her voice fits the characters really well; I almost forget she's a woman when she does the male voices, and that's saying something! If you're looking for a lot of depth and realistic situations, this isn't the book for you, but it's great for strictly sexy entertainment purposes. I highly recommend this book (series), and happily spend a credit for it!
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Brand and Charma come from two different worlds and their kinds aren't allowed to be together. I hear you. I too hate when characters are ripped apart for years then brought back together, but this worked for me. Charma had to make some tough choices at a pretty young age. The cat shifter community runs with stricter and more harsh laws so she did what she had to do to save her family, leaving Brand behind thinking that maybe he could move on and find someone who could really be his mate...
Nine years later Charma is stuck with an abusive husband/mate who she was forced to be with to keep her family safe. He is abusive in all ways and it’s extremely heartbreaking. The first 10% really pulls at the heartstrings in making me feel for Charma and understanding why she did what she did. Now that her family is safe she could run, but she doesn't have anywhere to go and has no idea how to even find Brand. She believes the chances of him not having moved on are none. Then one day she finds out her pack is about to attack another and she sees his photo in the stack of targets. She still loves him deeply and if there is one thing she can do it is at least save his life and warn him of what’s coming...
Most of the story is a gush of love and mating heat sex with a nice dab of Action included into this wonderful mix... This book is Full of All the Good Stuff Laurann can throw into a fab story... Bring on book 4, I cant wiat :)
I'm a Stay at Home Mother and Homeschool Teacher of two young girls. I am a avid book lover no matter the format.
I don't think it would be the same without G. C VanCoudts narration. I love that Laurann keeps the same narrator for all her series. There's nothing worse when you are into a series and have the voices all recognizable and boom they switch to someone else it completely ruins a book.
I thought this story was very good and it linked really well into the other two before it. Brand talked about Charma in book two His Purrfect Mate. You could tell he missed her and was very hurt. I am glad Charma and Brand were able to get together at last!
Well the obvious answer to that question would be the two other books that preceded this one. However this series reminds me of Susanne Wright's books called The Phoenix Pack. The 2nd book in that story is called Wicked Craving's and it reminds me some of what Brand and Charma went through.
All of it I think the consistency of the characters are great. You can tell who is who and each pack member sounds some different. I didn't find myself rewinding to figure out who just said what and that is always a good thing.
Laurann Dohner is a very good author. I have listened to nearly all her books. I hope she continues on with the Mating Heat series and we get to hear about the youngest fall in love with Charma's little sister. I hope!
This is a fast read and I have read review's that it's got to much sex in it and I disagree.. For one thing there can't be to much of that now can there? lol I understand in some books where you could say that if there isn't much of a story behind the characters but in this book there is a great background. The world building is also there so when you are dealing with shifters there is going to be a lot sex or mating :-)
Take a look it's in a book...Reading Rainbow!
I was really hoping the next book in the series would be one of the brothers. Brand is delicious, but I was digging all those smexy siblings.
The book is slightly non-linear, we get the back story and then jump forward nine years. My major problem with the plot is that they were together and she leave him to mate with someone else. In my world that smacks of cheating. I know there are circumstances, aren't there always.
Brand is delicious and Alpha and oh so protective. I kind of like that he was all about forgiving and getting his woman back. I was expecting that to be a bone of contention, but he was awfully sweet and understanding.
Charma is great in the beginning, then that mating takes a lot of the spunk out of her. It is nice to watch her grow and get back to who she was before. It is a tough journey.
Again with the insta hate between shifters. I feel like that is strange. I know they are basically dogs and cats, natural enemies, blah, blah, blah. The problem I have is that they are humans as well, they live in our society, so general rules should apply. Trying to kill someone on the street or fearing you will be killed in a college classroom, seem extreme. Okay, so I guess I have two complaints.
The rest of the story flowed nicely. Plenty of action and movement in the plot. I love the mixed narrative, it really helps you understand the two leads. Hearing their POV gives you greater insights into their motivations and feelings.
Oh course the steam is yummy and oh so detailed. Reunion smexy time is hawt!! What I wouldn't give for a smexy dominant wolf!! They really know how to talk naughty and follow through!!! Have a very cold shower ready!!!
I listened to the audiobook narrated by G. C. VonCloudts, who does a great job. Plenty of variation in the voices and consistency. She has a great tone that leads itself to the material. I loved her energy throughout the read, especially in the naughty bits! The girl gives good voice!
I do enjoy this series and I can only hope there will be more. I think it is kind of on the back burner because of Ms Dohner's other more popular series. Fingers crossed there will be more to come and all the siblings get HEA!!
Love to read
No..Im a fan on Laurann Dohner but this book was not that great for me. I love the narrators voice though
No...wasnt that much of a fan
not really rememorable
I was so disappointed in this book. I love Laurann Dohner's writing and this one just missed the mark by a long shot. It was difficult for me to listen to the end on this one because it was just so boring.
Hoping any others coming up in her New Species series is better than this. I'm so happy that I bought this one when it was on sale for $3.67.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
I love L.D's books and I'm slowly trying to get through all of them but sadly I was disappointed with this one. Not because it's not well written or well narrated but because the H/H loved each other from the start so there was no build-up or slow sizzle. They had to part but years later when they met again it was an instant 'claiming' thing.
There was conflict between Shifter Species, a bit of tension, drama and of course sex and yes there was romance but without that slow burn and the anticipation that brings it just didn't hold my attention, I wasn't gripped and my mind drifted to other things whilst listening to it.
Worth a credit? It's a Dohner book so I should be saying YES but unfortunately, for me, this time it's got to be a NO.
