Publisher's summary

Kara: Once, when I was young and stupid, I had that boy. The charmer, the Adonis, the one who torched every woman's panties in our small town. He was my brother's best friend, practically part of the family. When he proposed, he promised me forever. Then the bastard disappeared without a word.

It's taken five years to get over Ryan. I drowned myself crying a thousand times over. I moved on.

I'm finally remembering what it's like to smile, when guess who shows up? Everything about him is different. For one, he's become a freakin' billionaire. He walks like he's Mr. Tall, Dark, and Alpha incarnate. I know there's no justice in the world, because his body matches his huge ego.

Worse, he wants me to play Cinderella again. I can't. I won't. I don't believe in second chances. I'll never forget what he did.

Ryan: I did a terrible thing. No, I'm not talking about the filthy secret that wrecked everything.

Leaving Kara killed me. I didn't have a choice. No amount of money, success, or bedding any woman I want whenever I flash my patented smirk makes up for losing her.

She was the one. Hell, she still is.

Contains mature themes.

Story could have been better

The narration was decent but the story left a lot to be desired. I don't want to give anything away but I just couldn't connect with the heroin's family. The reason behind why the hero had to leave was also weak and I just couldn't get relate, nor did I get why the heroin's father did what he did. All in all, I thought the story left a lot to be desired.

Poor job of depicting MC's chemistry. Narration👍.

I have read several publication a by this writer and they are hit and miss for me. This one is a miss. I finally figured out what was so irritating about this tale when I hit upon the sex scene in Chapter 13 and DNF. I have noticed that some of this author's works are pure porn and there are times I am in the mood for that approach. I am not a prude and language is something I try to work on myself. However, from the synopsis I was under the impression that this was an erotic LOVE story. Yet as romantic as Tanner/Ryan is at times (sometimes cavity-inducing OTT), in the next sentence he is expressing some form of how he is going to f*ck her. In my mind, if you are in a loving, meaningful relationship with someone, you are MAKING LOVE, not just f*cking. The dichotomy drove me crazy. I felt like the author was not in tune with the work and the chemistry and story lacked truth. I felt jerked back and forth and it wasn't what I signed up for. I don't know; it might just be me. Maybe no one else feels this but I think I'll go back to avoiding this writer's works.

In conclusion, the narrators both did a really good job. No complaints there.

Second Chance at Love

Unfortunate things happen to good people at the worst possible times and it’s what you do with it that says who you are to overcome it all. Making a future with the one you love even if it takes you five years but they do get a HEA. You get an 18 month glimpse into their future. It’s a little unrealistic but hey you’re in a book world to escape. No cheating or angst.

Meh

The story is....OK. Some of it reads like a high school student wrote it and the sex scenes have some truly awful comments. Not awful as in *Gasp!* "How dare they print that! but along the lines of *Eyeroll* I can't believe someone thought that was good. The voice actors don't help, either. The female sounds like she is reading, not acting, half the time and the male actor sounds creepy. He would make a great villain but does not make a great 'good guy'. The entire thing needs a good revamp.

Swoon

The story is very alluring and keeps the reader drawn into the plot... The ending is goal worthy romance... The performer is a very strong reader and has a smooth voice... I would recommend a male reader with this performer for male parts or for the reader to adjust her voice for male areas...

Are you kidding me with this...

I don't even know what to say, but I feel like I should write a review. This story had so much potential up until the point I found out the mother knew the whole time and literally turned in the H and sent him to jail for a crime she damn well knew he didn't commit. And her reason... (epic eyeroll) basically she had no reason, she was just stupid. The brother, the supposed best fried of the H is a joke too. Everyone was so quick to believe he was guilty, which I get it, there has to be a story, but for the H to just be like "oh it's ok, you didn't have my back or believe in me enough that you put me in jail but it's ok, were still BFF's" GIVE. ME. A. BREAK. Everyone was harping on Kara, but honestly I kind of understood her. Did I think she was an idiot for "loving" or wanting to marry Reg, of course I did. But, I feel she was just reaching for anything, she was lost. That is why she was open to hearing the truth from the H, regardless of her hurt feelings, and still somewhat believed in him even though she was the only one. Honestly she didn't annoy me as much as I thought she would based off the other reviews I read. I wish the ending would have shown the H and h riding off into the sunset leaving her dumbass family behind.

Not the N.S. I’m used to.

I love Nicole Snow but this was a bit too unrealistic. Ryan’s arrogance made me sick. True Cara was on a whole other level of naive but just no. There was nothing about this that kept my interest except for wanting to know what really happened in that shop but I couldn’t even get that far.

Bounced around a bit.

The plot is very good, although it could have been done better. It seemed to leave out pieces, or bounce around, but was still enjoyable. Not one I’d highly recommend, so add if you can catch it on sale.

Just a good story

This was just a good story. Nicole Snow writes good stories, but I find her female lead characters lacking intelligence. Cara was not smart in many parts of the story. I found myself short tempered with her thoughts and actions at different parts of the story. I loved the narrators. Excellent jobs in creating the emotions with their voices.
