Very enjoyable

I really liked this story, the author knows how to hook you and keep you entertained. Mother-in-laws can be a bear at times and this one is at the top of the line. Things go pretty smooth until gets a wild hair and the mess she makes of Emily and Benjamin life is something. Emily is the true hero here for saving this family who needs her so much. I could never have handled my mother in law like she did with such class. It really is a delightful story of heartbreak, betrayal along with love, happiness and as well as learning. It is never easy to live with a person but to have it all hit at once with someone you don't know is mind blowing. I loved how the author makes this a believable story that touches your heart.

The narrator did a good job, there were times when she paused when maybe she didn't need to but she does put good emotion into her voice with wonderful character voices. There are no repeating of words, no background noise, no volume changes. Her character voices are good both male and female, you always know who is talking and what they are feeling. I thought she did a good job and enjoyed her narration.

Endearing Love Story

I have read this book at least 5 times. So I was excited to listen to the audio version. There were spots where the narrator lends a different inflection or interpretation to dialogue than I would have done or than I did in my mind while reading. That is part of the fun of an audiobook. This narrator gave just the right drama and inflection to the book so that it was thoroughly enjoyable for me! In addition, it is such a romantic read. The story never fails to make me feel as if I am living the experiences with the characters. I also love how well the children are characterized. Writing dialogue for children is difficult, but K. Osbourne manages to make them sound just right for their ages.

Eh ...

Not much to distinguish this one - not as squeaky clean as most mail-order stories but nothing more ch in the way of a storyline either.
