Publisher's Summary

When Jamie meets Luke, Luke is bowled over by the beauty with the emerald green eyes and auburn hair, but is instantly tongue-tied. Jamie is not sure how they're going to develop a relationship when he can barely talk to her, but she sets out to seduce the handsome man with the soulful brown eyes.

A game of cat and mouse ensues and Jamie finds out that marrying Luke is easy, but capturing his heart is going to be harder than she anticipates.

    "Cheeky Bride"

Although this was a good book I had a difficult time relating to the heroine (Jaime) in this story. I think she seemed a bit too "loose" for that time period. She did have some good qualities but they were over shadowed by her carousing personality. I did however like the hero, Luke. He was a big man with a heart of gold. The phrase "opposites attract" fits perfectly here.

Still, I'm really enjoying this series. These stories are basically clean.....meaning there are sex scenes but there is nothing explicit.

I truly enjoy the narration of J Scott Bennett. His cowboy style voice is perfect for this series.

I would like to thank the author, narrator, publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review courtesy of Audiobookboom.

    Any additional comments?

Luke, the male lead, is a shy and quiet kind of guy.

Jamie, the female lead, is a bit more forward.

It seems as though it is love at first sight and a case of "opposites attract" when they meet, at least for Luke..

He might not have realized it at first, but that is what happened to him.

Overall, this book was a quick read enjoyable read.

    J. Scott Bennett did well with the narration.

A light, fun, humorous, enjoyable and entertaining story.

This is the second book from the Mail Order Brides Montana series that I have listened to and I while I was not disappointed in this book, I did like book 3 a little more. Even though this is part of a series you don't have to have read the previous books to enjoy this one.

Even though these are shorter books they are not lacking in any way. Some shorter books leave you feeling like something is missing either in storyline or the characters relationship. That is not the case here. The characters and their stories are fully developed.
Although in one part of the story there was a whole section that at the end of every sentence was Jamie said, Luke said, Jamie said, Luke said, Jamie said, Luke said, It got a bit annoying and I thought okay time to change up the way their conversations are taking place.

Jamie is outspoken, flirty and sassy. Luke is quiet, shy and reserved. Jamie is not your typical western romance heroine. She takes a bit of time to get used to. Luke is lovable immediately like a big teddy bear. Somehow they find common ground and work well together as a couple.

J Scott Bennett did a fantastic job with the narration. Great character voices. Love the little western lilt to his character voices. Clear pronunciation and nice pleasant voice. Even smooth pace in his narration. Well done all around.

    "Sassy!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Mail Order Bride - Westward Destiny to be better than the print version?

I don't know, i haven't read the print version, but i absolutely love the narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

I really enjoyed that Jamie is not the typical woman, strong but a bit scared. She knows what she wants and what she likes and doesn't compromise on it (all at the same time of wanting to fit in and be accepted) while still showing that she has feelings.

What about J. Scott Bennett’s performance did you like?

I love his voice. The intonations, clear speech and the pauses in his speech make it easy to listen to and enjoy.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was, i wanted to see how things would work out between the sweet shy guy and the bit wild and fun lady.

    "Sparks Do Fly!"

This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.

Luke Samuels is a quiet, reserved, young man trying to restart his life after being left standing at the altar two years ago. Working for his Uncle Dean on the Samuels cattle ranch in Dawson County Mt., he sees his uncle and his cousins happily married and starting families of their own and still dreams of having that life for himself one day. He is lonely and has started thinking about looking for a wife again but he’s still a little gun-shy. Luke’s cousin, Marcus, offers to write an ad for a mail-order bride for Luke and the deed is done.

Jamie Collins is a beautiful young widow with fiery red hair and a personality to match. Living and working in North Dakota, she is feeling lonely and unfulfilled. Her employer is a crotchety old man who, along with most of the women in the town, frowns on everything that Jamie does. She is saving as much of her wages as she can so that she can leave North Dakota and all it’s sad memories behind and start a new life for herself. She wants to marry again, and have a family of her own. Seeing Luke’s ad in her local paper she makes the decision to answer his ad and move to Dawson County as soon as she can.

Luke falls in love with Jamie almost as soon as he meets her but, he is not prepared for the reaction of his mother and some of the townspeople . There are many trials to overcome and their love for each other will be well tested. Will they be able to overcome all the obstacles thrown at them? Can they both really have the new lives they’ve been dreaming about?

I really enjoyed taking this journey with Luke and Jamie and getting to know the rest of the Samuels clan. The book is well written with interesting characters and scenarios that you wouldn’t expect to find in a mail-order brides story, but that fit the characters and time period perfectly. The personalities of all the characters are strong and they each have their own brand of humor that works it’s way beautifully into the story. I highly recommend this story to anyone interested in the time period or the mail-order bride scenario.

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”

Westward Destiny is book 4 in the series. We re-visit the Samuels' family. This one features their cousin Luke. Jamie, the mail order bride that answers his advertisement is not like most girls that answers ads. She is strong willed, flirty and adventurous. She has hidden emotions that come out showing a vulnerable side too. Will love conquer all?

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed.

    "Full of Sass"

Jamie, the main character of Mail Order Bride - Western Destiny, has a mind of her own. She isn't the typical heroine of these types of novels. After reading 2 other books in this series, I was looking forward to more. Linda Bridey is a great writer. The story was funny and kept me wanting more. I enjoyed getting to know Jamie and Luke. Even though they have 2 completely different personalities, I think they make a great couple.
Again, J. Scott Bennett did a wonderful performance. His voice is perfect for this book.

    "Sweet and sexy western romance"

I liked this book. It was sweet and sexy, and it was refreshing to see a female character who is comfortable with who she is without conforming to society's expectations of her. The story perfectly sets up more books in the series. Though this is a fourth book in the series, I had not read any of the previous books in the series prior to reading this one. I didn't feel like I was missing out, but would guess that the stories center around the other characters who got a mail order bride, and it would be fun to read about their back stories. This was an enjoyable book, so I would like to read more about the other characters. I listened to the Audible audio version of this book, narrated by J. Scott Bennett, and as always, his narrations was excellent. If you like westerns or romance, this would be a great book for you.

    "Enjoyable, full of character"

I love how each of the books in this series so far are standalone but also closely tie with the previous books. We get to revisit with older characters and learn about how their lives have progressed.

I love Jamie and Luke's story. The two characters come with complex histories and strong personalities. It could have not worked out with the challenges they face, but I am glad they did.
