    "Nice Western Story"

I’ve listened to 2 books in this series now and I’m really enjoying them. This book could definitely stand alone so there wouldn't be any issues reading them out of order.

Like the others, this book is a great western listen. It is filled with wonderful characters, adventure, romance and even some suspense. This book adds some interesting characters along with ones from past books. It is well written and with J. Scott Bennett's narration you’ve got the perfect combo for this western story.

This book is relatively clean as it does have a few swear words but no explicit sex.

I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review courtesy of Audiobookboom.

    "Short but sweet"

I was given this book specifically for the purpose of reviewing.

This is the third book in a series of something like 24. I'm not sure if theyre all related to each other or not from here on out, but at least the first three are connected. The desription of the book is a bit misleading. It says that when Claire travels to her sisters wedding, she meets Marcus and they fall in love. Its actually not at all a description of THIS story. In the last book (#2) her sister got married and she came out for the wedding. There Claire and Marcus met and became pen pals over a period of time to this book. In this book there is a little blurb about them meeting at the wedding, but the primary focus of this book is them reconnecting after Claire graduates and the relationship that follows.
That being said, though short, this book was very sweet and I enjoyed the whole thing. I definitely think that the author had much more potential with this story to make it longer and possibly become as big an author as Jude Deveroux or Linda Lael Miller. Maybe she is, in a short story catagory. I've just never heard of her and I've been an avid bookreader my entire life, I think the book was great and would love to read more. The thing is, for me, I don't "waste" my credits on books that short. Nor would I pay more than $2.95 for it. I woukd, hiwever, use a credit on a bundle of them. Say, books in groups of 3. That would be well worth the credit, but nothing less.
The narrator did a great job. He had great voice inflection and had a lot of personality when speaking the characters for the most part. There were a couple little annoying things, but nothing that was a deal breaker.

Final impression, totally enjoyed the book, but if it wasnt free I would never have listened to it on Audible for the sole reason of its length.

    "Heartwarming!"

when I started this series of books I was not too sure how the stories we're going to play out. By book three I was completely hooked. Loved the ongoing stories and characters and this last book was the best!

    "Sweet, Believable Characters"

Narration, J. Scott Bennet. Loved his narration, such a wonderfully pleasant grand-pappy telling a story by the fire kinda voice!

I'm really enjoying this series. This book definitely showed more of the mail exchange between the characters and a little more development of relationship. Marcus and Claire are happiest when they are bantering back and forth and that's what they do best - first in their letters - and then in person.

They are both smart and opinionated, but I especially enjoyed the maturity and level headedness of Marcus in this book. There was a little bit of a silly misunderstanding that either could have been a bit more believable or left out entirely but I was impressed with the character displayed by Marcus in dealing with it.

These are sweet, clean stories with characters that are enjoyable and easy to like!

"Another great clean romance from Linda Bridey"

This was such a great book. In it, we learn more about Marcus and his Lakota family. Claire and Marcus have an interesting relationship that grows from annoyance to love. It is interesting to watch the progression of their relationship. The way they read into each other's words is humorous. I think this book is the most emotionally-charged of the first four books in the series that I have read. I listened to the Audible audio version of the book narrated by J. Scott Bennett and really loved the narration. Bennett has a great voice and is very easy on the ears. I highly recommend this book and the series for fans of western historical clean romance.

    "Really enjoyed this book"
    Any additional comments?

Really liked this book. Very Entertaining and enjoyable.

The synopsis of this book does it no justice at all. I won't give the story away, but it is way better than this book blurb states.

This is the 3rd book in the series. Even though I have not read the 2 previous books it did not affect the enjoyment of this book.

Though this is a short book it doesn’t feel like it. Some short stories can feel like they are missing pieces, that is not the case here.

Marcus and Claire were great characters. Especially Marcus. Great chemistry between the characters. Chemistry without explicit sex scenes.

Marcus is hiding a secret from everyone. When his secret is revealed, how each person reacts is believable. Different situations arise from this secret. You can feel the emotions each character goes through. Family ties/emotions are the most complex and simple at the same time.

J.Scott Bennett did a great job with the narration as usual. He has a nice voice that is easy on the ears. Even his female character voices are really good. You're able to feel the characters emotions come through in his narration really bringing them to life.

    "A lot of witty humor"

Mail Order Bride - Westward Bound by Linda Bridey is the 3rd in the series. I really enjoyed the 2nd book and haven't read the first yet. This one was even better than the 2nd. I felt a connection to all the characters. Claire and Marcus stood out to me in the 2nd book and the connection deepened for me in this book. I enjoyed their banter and was excited to go through their story. Marcus is a complex character and both him and Claire are very smart. I like a story with a lot of wit and humor.
This was another great performance by J. Scott Bennett. He has a great voice.

"Lovely story about trust, forgivness and love"
    Any additional comments?

This was a wonderful story with a great plot that keeps you well entertained. I am not sure I would call this was a mail order bride story since the two met once at the sisters wedding and wrote to each other which will keep you smiling and laughing at these two get on each others nerves trying to get the best of the other. It really isn’t decided to get married until Claire’s father makes her feel like she isn’t good enough to help run the business than she goes to visit her sister. Things happen that will help them both if they marry. Claire has always loved Marcus but he isn’t too crazy about her. There back and forwards mail is truly entertaining and will have you laughing. When I think of a mail order bride it is when both parties write and decide to marry which isn’t the case here. That is not to say that this isn’t a wonderful story it is as you will come to find out.

The narration with Mr. Bennett is wonderful the only thing I find amiss is the Indians. For me their English is too well spoken, I think they should have been more of a broken English maybe it is just me but that is how I always saw it in other areas. Beside the above the character voices fit the characters very well. Given wonderful emotions, feelings, and excitement to each character. There are no repeats of words, the volume isn’t high or low at any place if any breaks were taken you could not tell. It was easy to tell who was talking both the female and male voices were outstanding delivered with just the right amount of emotion, passion that really draws you into the story. His tones are even giving the correct emotion for what was going on leaving you in no doubt what each one was feeling. You feel the sorrow, hurt, pain and excitement of each character. This is one narrator that knows how to deliver you a compelling listen that keeps you invested as he gives you a wonderful listen.

Clair is so cute, funny, truly a wonderful character that knows what she wants and works on how to go about getting it. The misunderstandings between the two are very humorous. She is a strong will character who isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes or wants. I really liked her a lot.

Marcus is something else with his wild ways and where in the devil did he learn to make such drinks? He has a very big secret that is about to land him in trouble with his family. He needs Clair to help him in more ways than one. Even though he doesn’t care for her with her better than his ways he is still drawn to her when they met again.

The chemistry between these two you can feel come off the pages as they go back and forward baiting the other. I really laughed at these two and their tempters which get in the way and made this a highly entertaining listen. Nothing like a good fight to get the blood pumping this really was a very funny story at times.

I loved this story it truly is a story with a lot going on really a story inside a story. You really feel Claire and Marcus pain why understanding each brother and why he feels the way he does. Here you won’t see Indians being hurt, taking things from them or them stealing just to stay alive what you find is a truly wonderful tribe that loves, lives and gives back to their families whether they be Indian or the white man. Marcus story is a very touching one from before he was born to his adulthood. This is a story about forgiveness and trust about things not always as they seem, getting over issues and finding a way to make life better. There is so much more than the summary gives you it does not do justice to this book. It truly is a great story that will touch your heart giving you a wonderful feeling and making you smile throughout as it pulls on your heart.

    "Great Story"

I loved this third book in the series. The author treated the events with care and consideration. The characters in the book have flaws but love covers them up. Each brother had to find his own way through the events that created the problems in the story. Each one came out OK and I liked how the author showed that not all white men and women treated the Native Americans unkindly. Although there was a lot of mistreatment it was not emphasized. The love the three brothers had for each other came through in the end. The author also presented the side of marriage that involves trust, understanding, forgiveness, and communication. Many a marriage has been destroyed because these were not vital parts of the marriage. Forgiveness is emphasized throughout.
Love this series. The narrator was right on point and added to the story.

    "Loved it!"
What made the experience of listening to Mail Order Bride - Westward Bound the most enjoyable?

I loved the whole story. Loved the families, they were real and had moments with reactions that felt like they were real and not made up.

What did you like best about this story?

I most liked the crap the two main characters gave each other through the whole book while still supporting each other.

What does J. Scott Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love his voice. It brought the characters to life

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment where she realized she was the child's mother and her perspective on how she looked at the baby turned more maternal even though they didn't share blood

    "A super historical western romance"

This isn't your typical historical western romance, just as this isn't your typical cowboy and society miss. Marcus and Claire are rich with character flaws and quirkiness that make them more interesting and real.

The plot is thick with twists and turns, taking you gently through the third book about the Samuels brothers. Characters from the previous books feature heavily, so I suggest you read or listen to the previous books first. In fact it is nice to revisit their stories and watch their relationships traverse the usual trials and tribulations of growing families, etc. There is a definite feel good factor and a HEA that draws in the natural circle of life.
