Publisher's summary

Catherine Parker has been brought up in the lap of luxury, and has always expected she would someday make an expedient marriage, but when her Papa insists she marry a man she knows he despises, she has no choice. But will she find the love and companionship she craves, or is she merely trading one kind of hell for another? Can she trust a stranger to care more for her than her own father?

Tom Shandon is a good man. Everyone in town likes him and trusts him. On a whim, he offers Catherine the hope she needs, but at what cost? Is he truly the man he seems, or does he have a past nobody would ever suspect?

Catherine's father has asked her to marry she cannot stand, so she runs a way and

decides to become a Mail Order Bride.

She soon meets Tom and he makes her an offer that she may not be able to refuse.

The story line was about Hope, Forgiveness, and Sweet Romance.

Alan Taylor did really well with the narration, his voice was clear and calming.

A bride for Thomas

Overall review for Sun River Brides, books 2-5: Karla Gracey's Mail Order Bride series is a series of sweet romantic shortstories. The stories are very fast-paced and only told - not showed. In some books I didn't connect with the characters at all. You won't get much background stories to the characters' lives and in some points you only get the point of view from one of them. These books are good entertainment if you need a short listen once in a while.

About 'A Bride for Thomas': In this story we get some more drama and storyline, however, we still need depth to the story and indeed passion to indicate that they actually fall in love. So far the most believable story of them all.

Alan Taylor did a very good job in narrating this series and has a very pleasant voice and made characters come to life. I'd love to hear him in other books as well.

Perfect romance stories!

Any additional comments?

The narrator did an amazing job with this book giving each character their own voice and personality. This was a clean sweet romance with a happy ending. I love this whole series and you fall in love with each character for their own flaws and personalities. Once you listen to one book you have to heard all of the rest. I highly would recommend these sweet wholesome romance books.

Enjoyable novella!

Another winner for me. If only I could meet Tom! What a man! Catherine, who has grown up in a wealthy house, has been promised to a man for marriage by her father. This man, who is 3 times her age and size is someone Catherine despises. She runs away, not knowing how else to remove herself from this promise her father has made. In steps Tom, the owner of the local saloon. He immediately has a connection with Catherine, but he also has secrets. Catherine is wary of his, though he is accepting of hers...will she be able to overlook his past?

Again Karla has woven the letters into this book, which I love. The narrative is wonderful along with the characters from the previous novellas of the series.

Alan Taylor...love his voice. It is so warm, compassionate and perfect for this series.
