Another mail order bride for me to listen to! I enjoy these books when I need a nice, easy book to listen to. Abby has been taking car of her younger siblings, but decides to become a mail order bride, hoping to move into a quiet and peaceful relationship with her new husband. When she first meets him, he is carrying a baby. Now Abby isn't sure that she hasn't jumped from the frying pan into the fire! Faith Johnson gives this story an interesting plot with a few twists and turns to keep us wanting to listen to find out what happens. Meghan Kelly again gives us the voices of the characters just as we expect them to be. She is a very talented narrator.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
This was a good clean story of a young girl heading out in to the unknown as a mail order bride. She was so lucky to find a wonderful man, with a baby. The baby was not part of the original agreement, but cute babies grow on you fast.
It makes me happy to wake up everyday and look forward to listening. Many times I listen while doing artwork. I find it very relaxing.
I LOVE the Mail Order Bride stories. "A Baby for the Hesitant Bride" was good. Abby had answered an ad in the Matrimonial News and was going west to meet the man whom she expected to be a rugged type. John was more of a distinguished gentleman but he had a surprise too.
Although this was a quick listen, I found it relaxing and enjoyable. I like the way it was clean and faith-based. It fits in with the time frame of the setting. The characters were likeable and I wasn't sure I'd like the nanny Becky but she turned out to be nice. I hope to listen to more in this series by Faith Johnson.
Meghan Kelly's narration was great. She did a nice job separating the characters voices and I thought her voice for Benny was cute. She has a smooth tone that I really like as well. These are easy and light listens with nothing heavy and perfect for relaxing.
