Publisher's summary

Mary Elizabeth Potter is a self-appointed spinster with no illusions about love. But she is a good teacher, and she wants Wolf Mackenzie's son back in school. And after one heated confrontation with the boy's father, she knows father and son have changed her life forever.

Still paying for a crime he didn't commit, Wolf Mackenzie has a chip on his shoulder the size of Wyoming. But prim-and-proper Mary Elizabeth Potter doesn't see Wolf as the dangerous half-breed the town has branded him. Somehow she sees him as a good, decent, honest man. A man who could love....Wolf's not sure he, or the town of Ruth, Wyoming, is ready for the taming of Wolf Mackenzie.

This book should not be abridged!

This is an absolutely wonderful story. It should not be shortened. This should be redone in its entirety! I love the entire Makenzie series!

Mackenzie"s Mountain

I read the print vesion of this book and really loved it, and was looking forward to the audio versionl. The abridged version was a little disappointing. The narraton would have been better if it had been more the alpha male that would remind you of what wolf mackenzie would sound like. This is a great series so don't let this detour you from reading this series. I would also like to see the unabriged version of A Game Of Chance. Also a great book.

the unabridged version is so much better

I hope they put the unabridged version the complete story of the mackenzies on audible and make it accessible soon this book bowled me over so many years ago when I was in high school and was one of the first romance novels that included sex. but the story The overcoming the bigotry was so impactful to me. and then the story continues with Joe McKenzie in the next book in the series and so forth and so on I won't spoil the storylines and the additions to MacKenzie's mountain but please give this book a try.

Abridged!

I read this many years ago and do not think that abridging it was a good idea. The other books in this series are not abridged and are so much better. Mackenzie's Mountain was not a long book and an unabridged version would only add about 20 minutes or so to the listening time. I have never been a fan of abridging books. However, in my opinion, this is a great book and I have all in the series and enjoy listening to them one after another, over and aver again.

Disappointed...

I love this book! was so excited when I found an audio version to listen to while driving for work. I was extremely disappointed with just how much had been cut from the book during this. Almost half the story just gone....now I'm unsure whether to listen to the other books....

Book was better!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The book yes, the audio NO. It was a horrible abridgement. So much of the story was missing. I know they cut stuff out for abridgements but they could have done a better job.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mackenzie's Mountain?

It's still in the book. In the audio, I would say when Wolf takes care of her.

How could the performance have been better?

She could have dropped the accent all together instead of having it at times and not at others. When Wolf was angry the voice she used took me completly out of the story it was so bad. I am really hoping she does not do any more in this series.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Please don't judge this book on this horrible abridgement. Buy the book, it is a great story when told from start to finish.

Abridgement Ok for me.

There was a specific scene that I didn't like in the book, and with this abridgement it cut it out completely. It was a little stilted but what do you expect from such a short abridgement. If you go in it with out a lot of expectation you won't be disappointed.

Not the same

Loved the story...not so much the narrator. She sound like a spoiled child. All I could do to finish.
