Then he discovered someone on the inside was sabotaging Night Wing, and with her late hours and specialized expertise, Caroline seemed the obvious choice. Now Joe had to choose between allegiance to his country and love for his prime suspect.

Author and narrator are both excellent; have read all Ms. Howard's McKenzie's books and enjoy them for what they are; this is first on audio purchased, but will surely have more; looking for entertainment and received it
Lind Howard always tell a good story. For romance lovers....you will love this story; however the voice is wrong. The speaker has a good voice, but not for romance. It ruined the effect of having a sensual book read to you. From here on out....I am going to start taking note of the voice that is being used.
Color me a little disappointed.
Love books, preferably romance and suspense. Typically read/listen to 3-5 a week.
The story continues from Mackenzie's Mountain. Joe is all grown up now and has graduated from the academy. You get a chance to see how he developed and get a glance at the rest of the Mackenzie clan. I enjoyed the story thought it was well written and engaging. This book gives us some missing information we didn't get in Mackenzie's Mountain such as, what happened to Joe while Wolf was in jail, and while Joe was in foster care. It shows how and why there was a deep bond between Joe and Wolf and gives an insight as to how Joe became so determined. This is a really good book we get to visit with Zane as well and find out the latest with him.
The best part of the book is the relationship between Joe and Carolyn, how they met and married.
You can tell this is one of Linda Howard earlier books but it is still a solid book and one of my favorites. This books holds up to any book she has written recently it shows passion and depth. You can't go wrong with a Linda Howard book It is totally worth a credit.
No, the narrator's intonation and inflections were off at times and he could have done a much more masculine hero's voice. Considering how often it was mention how deep and rumbling his voice was. A bit of a disappointment in that department.
He didn't improve the book.
Loins were mentioned way too many times but that is to be expected with the publish date. Linda Howard is still a great story teller.
I enjoyed the story, however, the narrator ruined it for me. His female voice didn't do it for me, but that wasn't the worst of it. His reading was so...mechanical. Like he was reading an airplane manual allowed. The love scenes were read with no emotion. It was difficult at times to enjoy the story because of the narrator. Luckily it's a short story. :-)
He did not fake a high pitch female voice that grates on your ears. Reads the book with feeling but not obvious acting
No but I have read the book before
I read the first book in this series and fell in love with 16 year old Joe and couldn't wait to read more about him. The narration is fabulous and my only complaint is that it didn't go on longer!!! Totally worth the credit.
Loved this book and always enjoy this narrator. The MacKenzie series is one of my favorites and Linda Howard is great!
