Maddox Jamenson almost lost his mate before he knew she existed, but his life is now exactly how he'd dreamed it. The war with the Centrals is over, and his family is healing one day at a time. Ellie is reveling in the simple perfection that is her life and family now, but that doesn't mean she can shed the self-doubts and concerns that come with being a new mother, mate, and Redwood.
When a disturbance in their quiet life threatens to ruin everything they've fought for, Maddox and Ellie will not only have to learn to rely on each other more than ever but find within themselves the power to forgive.
Author's note: This is a novella set after book seven to give you a taste of Maddox and Ellie. It is best that you have already immersed yourselves in the Redwood Pack world; however even new listeners will enjoy a glimpse of one of the Redwood's favorite couples.

Loved this book! Enjoyed the look into Maddox and Ellie after the war is over and life has somewhat calmed down. There are nightmares that they must work through. We also see Charlotte finally calling Ellie and Maddox, mom and dad. This gives way to some feelings of being unworthy and is something they need to work through together. Short, sexy, hot, frustrating, scary, this book as all of this in it.
I received an audio copy of this for an honest review. I have read the entire Redwood Pack series several times and enjoyed the audio version as much as the book. There were parts that I laughed at when I heard it vs reading it. It worked!
This was the first book by Carrie Ann Ryan that I listened to. the story of Ellie and Maddox was great from start to finish! I really enjoyed bringing a child into the mix, and seeing how Ellie and Maddox would be as parents! I can't wait for the next Redwood Pack book!!
