Captivated

I loved the storyline and getting to know Payne and Manuel! I also appreciate the strong Female presence in Wards BDB series with Payne and Xhex.

Love

The Black Dagger Brotherhood has my heart. I am addicted. Love the wonderful storylines! I was wondering the part Manny had to play. I am also happy the answer this time wasn't the Scribe Virgin. Excited for the next but most excited for Qhuinn and Blaylock's story. Every book in this lineup is cheesy and corny in the most wonderful way possible. Verily, all you could want to make your heart break then soar. Yey!

BDB9

I adore the original characters. I didn't love Payne, but the other characters within this book made it worth listening to the whole way through.

If I'm not mistaken, the narrator is the same for the rest of the series. I really like him narrating this series, as the fluctuation in his tone sounds similar to how I read the story to myself.

Overall, I would recommend this title in the series.

HEALING!

I love what Ward is doing with the multi stories in one! Lover Unleashed focuses on Payne and Vishous...it's all about the twins this time. :)

Out of the two stories...Vishous's was my favorite in this book. Similar to his story in Lover Unbound, you see even more of him as he opens up in a whole new way while he struggles with dealing his past, his newly discovered sister, and his Jane. Out of all the brothers, Vishous is a huge favorite of mine (that is next to John Matthew) and he only gets better in here!

As for Payne...she is a warrior through and through...just like her brother and she is finally allowed to come into this world...the only problem is she isn't exactly whole. While she is at her wits end and ready to give up...Dr. Manuel Manello enters and heals her in more ways than one!!

Once again J.R. Ward doesn't disappoint!!

Verily, I love this ongoing saga

This is part of an ongoing saga, and I wouldn't take it as a stand alone romance. It's not. Start with the first book of the series, and get entralled, you won't regret it. Each book supposedly has a primary romance, and this one actually centered on two. Payne and Manny, but it was intermingled with other established relationships, being that of Viscious (Payne's twin), Jane , and Butch. I love how these stories build one into the next, and may skip a book, then we find one of the couples that were happily ever after a book or two ago, are now having problems. It seems all of the characters have great obstacles to overcome, whether emotional or physical disabilities. Payne is a rather new character, but if I'm right, she could be a pivitol character down the road, with her special ability. This episode introduces a whole new bunch of characters, the BOB, (I'll let you read it, so see what that stands for) that may end up friend or foe, and most likely both. Also, I like the way Ms Warden introduced us to Veck, her main character of "Envy" from the Fallen Angel series. That series is set in Caldwell also, and we get bits and pieces from the BDB now and then. It's really cool, how she subtley entwines both series.
The narration isn't bad with the voices, and emotions, but is pretty slow paced, so I tried to read the hard copy whenever I could.

Great series, amazing narration

Jim frangione really brings this series to life. The last few books of BDB series have not been my favorite, but this book bright it home for me, loved, loved, loved the story and the change of enemy was a nice change of pace also. Definitely would recommend the entire series!
