Publisher's summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author J. R. Ward’s novels of the Black Dagger Brotherhood continue, as a vampire warrior crosses the line between life and death…and ventures into an erotic world of dark dreams and darker desires.

Ever since the death of his shellan, Tohrment has been unrecognizable from the vampire leader he once was. Physically emaciated and heartbroken beyond despair, he has been brought back to the Brotherhood by a self-serving fallen angel. Now, fighting once again with ruthless vengeance, he is unprepared to face a new kind of tragedy.

When Tohr begins to see his beloved in his dreams - trapped in a cold, isolated netherworld far from the peace and tranquility of the Fade - he turns to the angel in hopes of saving the one he has lost. But because Lassiter tells him he must learn to love another to free his former mate, Tohr knows they are all doomed....

Except then a female with a shadowed history begins to get through to him. Against the backdrop of the raging war with the lessers, and with a new clan of vampires vying for the Blind King’s throne, Tohr struggles between the buried past and a very hot, passion-filled future.…But can his heart let go and set all of them free?

Enjoyable as always.

This is Torrent and Autumn's storyline. Of course you'll meet previous and new characters in all these authors series books. Always great narration too.

LOVED IT!!!

I’m a colossal fan of this series; I look forward every year to the time when J.R. Ward and Jim Frangione will take me away to the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s world, and I will get completely lost in the drama, passion, tension, sensuality and ultimately romance.
So, did Lover Reborn do it for me? … Absolutely without a doubt, although the romance and tension didn’t come exactly from whom I expected, it never took anything away from my enjoyment; the character’s progress and growth proved sufficient to engross me from beginning to end.

In a way, I felt Ward was trying to give us a different kind of Romance, the kind that’s not easy or happy, but tortured, and after having spent almost 5 years with Tohr, I wouldn’t have believed it otherwise.
Did he get the best Shellan? Probably not, but I thought he got just what he need it.
Is almost a fact now that the series has taken a new direction, where the main couple is no longer the center of the story, but just another in the many plots and updates in the novel, and I can sense some might not be happy with the change. In my case; I’ll take anything Ward gives me as long as she continues to capture my heart and attention.
The side stories are amazing and so realistic; I constantly forget that I’m in a fantasy world and that these guys are just a bunch of vampires in Caldwell NY.
One more thing I love is the fact that the Lessers aren’t as important, and we are starting to get a different kind of evil, one that is not going to be as easy to identify as such, but the gray area between good and evil is going to come into play and it's going to force you to dig deep and question your likes and dislikes for these new guys.
In conclusion, the action sequences are some of the best if not the best in the series, the drama is at its all time high, and last but not least the writing is phenomenal.
The hints…. Well, more than hints of what's coming for Blay and Qhuinn are gonna have you wishing 2012 away.
I LOVED IT!

NARRATION:
Jim's delivery is superb in every aspect, with the minor complaint about his female voices, but honestly at this point they don’t even bother me at all because he is the reason why this book is not only 4 stars
Just one thing to the new audio listener, it takes a few chapters to get used to his voice and delivery, but once you do, you won’t have it any other way.
Look at the ratings for this book, so you can get an idea of how highly Jim's performance has been evaluated.

Great Story Including More on Other Characters!

The story is mainly about Torment's journey through grief - but the story also touches on several other established relationships as well as some newer ones. Being a big BDB fan, it was great to see interactions with other characters I have grown to love throughout the series. The first few books in the series mainly focused on one relationship - but this continues to draw you into the BDB "family" and keep tabs on the goings on.

I have read some reviews that this book was disappointing because there wasn't much in the romance department. Personally, I don't feel liked I missed out on anything. In fact, I feel like it was one of the books I enjoyed the most - mainly because we got to know more about other brothers and those involved in their lives in some way.

The book ended on kind of a cliffhanger of sorts - I'm not going to say what so it won't be given away - but I have questions and wonderings on what will happen with certain people. Needless to say, I can't wait for the next book!

PRETTY DARN GOOD

WHAT I LIKED MOST ABOUT THIS BOOK WAS THAT IT COVERED A GREAT DEAL OF TIME, INSTEAD OF LIKE WHAM BAM WE SOLVED ALL THIS STUFF OVER NIGHT.
THOR'S GRIEF NEEDED TIME TO OVER COME AND FOR HIM TO BECOME TRULY ATTACHED TO AUTUMN.
MARRITAL PROBLEMS DON'T SOLVE THEMSELVES OVER NIGHT EITHER. I REALLY LIKED THE WAY THIS BOOK WENT, EXCEPT THAT I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE MORE OF HOW VISHIOUS AND PAYNE ARE INTERACTING WITH EVERY ONE.

One of the best of the series

Where does Lover Reborn rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Lover Reborn is one of the best audiobook I've listened it. Jim Fragione again is wonderful, maybe my favorite audio book narrator. But it's the story of Lover Reborn, Tohr's book that is fantastic. Ms. Ward takes us through the stages of grief, self doubt, pity, anger and renewal.

The book's other storylines are rich and enhance the book too. This series continues to soar.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lover Reborn?

When Tohr realizes that he has something to live for.

Which scene was your favorite?

When the brothers are in the Wrath's room discussing how to handle the letter from the Bastards of Brothers to the glimera. Rhage being sarcastic and calling himself "The easter bunny". The other brother tease him and call him names, My favorite is "Bestie Bo Peep".

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

At Wellsie and Tohr's son fade ceremony.

Best Book of the Series!

If you could sum up Lover Reborn in three words, what would they be?

Thrilling, heart-breaking, addictive!

What did you like best about this story?

The twists and turnsThe development of characters (Lassiter) and relationships: John & Xhex, Xhex & Autumn, and of course, Blay & Qhuinn!

Have you listened to any of Jim Frangione’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first audio book and thus, my first JF performance. It was odd hearing the words at first, because I had read the book previously. It took some getting used to the tempo (felt slow initially) and the voice, especially during dialogue where females spoke. Now I love JF's voice and really look forward to hearing it in the car. I've since bought two more JF narrations of Black Dagger Brotherhood books. Can't imagine driving along without JF reading to me!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Tohr is hugging Wellsie's silk wedding dress and mourning.

Excellent Development of Characters (as always)

Few authors can accomplish such in-deph development of their characters time after time like Ms. Ward does. I am always humbled by her skill and always, ALWAYS left breathlessly waiting her next publishing.

Mr. Frangione does an excellent interpretation as usual.
