Publisher's summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author J. R. Ward’s novels of the Black Dagger Brotherhood continue, as a vampire warrior crosses the line between life and death…and ventures into an erotic world of dark dreams and darker desires.

Ever since the death of his shellan, Tohrment has been unrecognizable from the vampire leader he once was. Physically emaciated and heartbroken beyond despair, he has been brought back to the Brotherhood by a self-serving fallen angel. Now, fighting once again with ruthless vengeance, he is unprepared to face a new kind of tragedy.

When Tohr begins to see his beloved in his dreams - trapped in a cold, isolated netherworld far from the peace and tranquility of the Fade - he turns to the angel in hopes of saving the one he has lost. But because Lassiter tells him he must learn to love another to free his former mate, Tohr knows they are all doomed....

Except then a female with a shadowed history begins to get through to him. Against the backdrop of the raging war with the lessers, and with a new clan of vampires vying for the Blind King’s throne, Tohr struggles between the buried past and a very hot, passion-filled future.…But can his heart let go and set all of them free?

Finally back on track

Have you listened to any of Jim Frangione’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Narration was excellent as always

Any additional comments?

Have loved Black Dagger Brother series except for the last two. This one was finally back on track. Worth not giving up on JR Ward.

A good book in the series to come back to

I haven’t heard this book in a while, and discovered things I had missed or forgotten about, but glad I re-listened to Tohrment’s and Autumn’s HEA. With Lassiter’s book being next, it was also good to key into how he was involved in this relationship.

Love all BDB with very few exceptions. Jim Frangione does a great job on narration.

Finally another 5 star review for a book in this series.

I was anxious for Tohr’s story and hoping for a resolution to his pain in losing his Wellsie. I was so emotionally drained at the end and actually pleasantly surprised at how his story unfolded with No’one.

I liked No’One and her history with Tohrment made sense and made for captivating story telling. What I didn’t like much? More drama with Xhex and John - and I still cannot stand the character of John in many ways. He did redeem himself at the end in his support of Tohr and I do really like the character of Xhex. I’m hoping their drama about should she or shouldn’t she fight is now resolved. Oh please yes.

Layla getting mixed up with the Bas*ard Vampires made my skin crawl and I’m afraid of what might be in store for her in the future. But, Qhuinn and Layla have always made sense in their bond as friends. Now? Well complications are in store and it also looks like Qhuinn and Blaylock may finally get their act together next.

There are more new characters I’m unsure I need more story from but we will see.

But Lassiter. Oh more Lassiter please! The fallen angel is a favorite character of mine especially now! IYKYK. Surviving chapters 71 and 72 particularly wasn’t easy. Ok. I balled my eyes out. But I was really happy with how Tohr’s story turned out in the end. Thank you Lassiter. Thank you.

Only 23 hrs, that's it?

What made the experience of listening to Lover Reborn the most enjoyable?

Jim and the expectation of what comes next.

Who was your favorite character and why?

oh my, as soon as I met V he was mine, and if he weren't mentioned I would be upset. That said, in this book as I get to know Xcore a little and start to understand him, I like him more. He's is letting go of who he thought he was and learning who is really is. I like that.

What about Jim Frangione???s performance did you like?

All of it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The in between, where will it find you.

Any additional comments?

More please.

I didn't like the subject, but it was good

The thought of loosing your love, a love that you have had for over 200 years, and told less than 2 years after her death that you have to get over it....it didn't sit well with me. I love JR Wards books, I love this series, but I didn't like this particular theme. I know it's important to try and live again and move on after a loved one passes, but this was too far in my opinion. This is the only BDB book I have given less than 5 stars to.

TOHRMENT & NO'ONE!!

WOW!! After listening to this.....I am speechless!! Ward certainly likes to throw her readers for a loop...and back again I might add! She certainly doesn't hold anything back with Lover Reborn!!

All I can say is poor Tohr!! For being such the "male of worth" that he is...he sure has gone through hell and back!! After loosing Wellsie, my heart broke for him! Considering the pain he goes through I don't blame him for taking his time at anything, and am so glad when things start to look up. I don't want to ruin it...but again...just when you think things are getting better...something happens that you never expected!

Again...so much is packed in this book. John and Xhex...Qhuinn...Lassiter...and the band of bastards(who...I cannot believe I am starting to like despite everything they are trying to do...Ward really has a way of twisting things around)!!

OMG!! My head is just spinning!! It is so much to take in...and I cannot wait for the next book...Lover At Last!! I must say this along with Lover Mine...are the best two in the series thus far!! Hands down!!

I never wanted it to end

Any additional comments?

I waited and waited for this book to come out. It did not disappoint. This story has everything you want and some that drive you crazy. People probably thought I was crazy talking to myself when in reality I was talking to the characters in this story. I loved it and will listen again. Once again J R Ward has me in the waiting place for the next book.

As always the series did not disappoint.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

J R Ward has her characters react in very human ways, their emotional reactions are truly life-like with hesitation and unsurety one can visualize. In most series there seems to be lulls and voids, but not with the black dagger series. Always new twist and turns.

What does Jim Frangione bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His rich voice and tone diversity allows you to really distinguish the individual characters. His presentation is that of a true actor. you don't feel you are being told a story but actually are just listening to action as it unfolds as if you are there.

Any additional comments?

The only thing that could make this audio book better would be to have a female reader read the female parts. But Jim does even that quite well.
