This story was harder for me to read because there's so much pain in Phury, and it was a much slower burn, too. The end felt somewhat bittersweet because you get a sense of all the battles still to be fought, both internal and external, but it ended beautifully.

Just when you think it can’t get better
You get to Phury’s story. You will go through many emotions with this one. I actually cried. I know many complain about the narrator. But I couldn’t imagine anyone else telling their stories. This is one time, where the HEA has nothing to do with the love story. I need to read something else before finishing up this series though. I want to be able to appreciate what’s coming.

Please, please, please get the others!
I wont lie, this is not my most favorite of the BDB Books. There is so much in the way of transition in the world that has been created that you simply will not get if you do not know the books that came before. I have to admit, I did do the happy dance that this is here just because I am such a HUGE fan of JR Ward. I really, really, hope Audible gets the other books in the series.

Jam-packed with a whole bunch of good BDB!
Thinking back on books 4 and 5, it seems like the brothers took a little break for love and some R&R. You get to book 6 and BAM, it was on and popping! There was so much going on in this story. Between Phury, the 3 musketeers also known as Qhuinn, John Matthew & Blay, the Omega and his evil genius, and of course Phury's 'wizard' who totally stole the show---your head could easily spin, but, the various storylines are so interesting that its easy to keep up, stay interested and riveted, waiting for more. This one felt like the primer for everything that's about to unfold, and I know its going to be awesome!

Love the Brotherhood!!
This is book number 6 in her series. Her seventh is due out April/2009. You need to start with the first book Dark Lover and read through to really understand as to what is going on. To just read this one will make some sense but not wholly. I think one of the other reviewers trashed the novel without really reading the entire series. I am a HUGE Butch fan so I can't wait for the whole series to be available on audiobooks!! Cellies will be thrilled!

So much more than just Phury and Cormia in this
I've come to read and listen to this book over and over because so much happens. Major changes are made with the Chosen. John, Blay. and Quinn play a large roll. A brother returns, sort of. So much happens in this one. Great job.
