This story had a great beginning with the lead characters being instantly attracted to each other at first sight... like love at first sight... they had never spoken to each other and didn't know each other's name but they felt that over-whelming mutual attraction that you might get a chance to experience once or twice in a lifetime. Great start, good build of suspense and drama throughout with interesting characters and storylines. The novel held my attention.
What I didn't like about the story took place over the last few chapters. The novel had minor twists and turns sprinkled throughout but needed to have a "serious" twist to add to the drama. I didn't like the "serious" twist because it didn't make sense to me. She took a perfectly strong man, physically fit and seemingly mentally fit, with good character and strong morals during the majority of the novel, but then she weakens him in the final chapters for reasons that required me to suspend my disbelief way, way too much!.
"Break ups" and "make ups" are the meat and potatoes of most romance novels, but the premise of what this breakup/makeup was based on was too weak in my opinion. A happy ending and would recommend nevertheless!
The narrator did an excellent job.
Narrarator was great. Peele has improved greatly over the years. Zuri makes you a part of each detail. During games I felt like I was on the football field. During Intimacy I felt like I was there too. :)
I'm a huge fan of Audible. As a school librarian, I've found that it passes my days and nights.
Yes, this is one of the Audiobooks that I would listen to again. I'm actually thinking about getting this one in print. Ms. Day did a wonderful job with the imagery and story line.
I'm a sucker for a good romance. This one was believable. Not only did Day speak on the heart but she also touched on emotional issue of past childhood experiences.
Yes. She did a wonderful job with the narration of this selection.
There were times in the book when I wanted to cry. However, I definitely laughed out loud on a few occasions.
There were so many likable characters in this book. I thought Reggie was too funny, and Jake was just what the doctor ordered for Dominique.
yes, it was a great read a good man, a single mom trying to raise a young boy. Just a really good reason.
I am not sure, Its not like anything i have read before
not sure there where a few i dont like giving the book away
I did listen to this in one sitting. i was to good to stop i just had to know what was going to happen next.
I am now much Beyond a fan of Zuri Day and have moved into being a devotee. Her writing is crisp and authentic and soul-stirring and human. I know these characters and I've heard their conversations all my life. The narration is beyond exquisite. the narrator captures not just the words but the feeling of the conversations, portraying the real lives of the characters. it is a rare combination indeed to have a strong and engaging plot , fully developed characters , and a magnificent storyteller whose voice and familiarity with the story makes all the difference.
Mother, reader, writer and the author of I'm Doin' Me!
Everything! Loved the story line, loved the characters and loved the happy ending!
That the lead character was a BBW, not a runway model type. Made her character relatable for me.
I loved when she did Hurricane's chante. I love Shari Peele's performances.
Enjoyed this story and I think listening to the audio version with Shari Peele made it more enjoyable.
This is a must read! great performance by the narrator ! And a great storyline on how true love will always shine through.
This one was very predictable. I gave this book three stars because I thought the narrator has grown I've listened to some of her old work and they weren't as good as this one... so kudos to Shari. I consider this to be light romance and I like just a little bit more suspense or a reason to turn the page. This didn't do it for me.
