I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn't expect her to become my friend. I didn't expect to fall in love with her.
The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend - a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.
Now, I can't wait any longer. I'm tossing out the rules.
Damn the company.
Damn our friendship.
Damn my fears.
Warning: This standalone is packed with sexual tension, insane chemistry, and enough surprises to keep you listening. May cause distraction from life and require a change of panties.

I love to multi-task whenever possible and audible allows me to keep up my voracious reading appetite while doing other things!
The last Alessandra Torre book I read was Moonshot. That was a good book. Love in Lingerie however fell very short of that mark.
This is a typical office romance between a hyper-sexual alpha boss and his attractive subordinate. The heroine will go through two long term relationships both destined for the altar, whilst the hero runs through countless anonymous sexual encounters and one long-term relationship.
Both pine for each other but the other people in their lives, and a flimsy excuse of a non-fraternization work policy keeps the couple firmly in the friend/co-worker zone despite chemistry, mutual desire, and eventually love. There is innuendo, flirting, and some fleeting touches through the book. My problem with this story is how long it took for the couple to finally get together (not until the last hour of the book!).
This story is told from dual POVs, all narrated by Rose Dioro. I find Ms. Dioro's narration just okay. Her speech is a bit too breathy for me, and I didn't like the way she voiced male characters.
I just wish there had been more plot to this book. Some twists, secrets, or a crazy ex in the mix would have helped. In the end, I just found it boring and frustrating. There wasn't enough of a story to sustain the reader until that final hour when the relationship finally came to fruition.
Not worth my credit. It is back to the return bin for this one. I just wish I could get that wasted listening time back.
Addicted to any type of Romance/Erotica audio books.
I love a slow burn but this was like 6 hours of foreplay. I loved the characters, I loved the story line and I loved the flirting/burning the characters had for each other. I will say I do wish the story had been longer so it was 50/50 on the slow burn and actual fire.
As always, I love this author's writing. At first I didn't think I was going to like the narrator but in the end I really enjoyed her work.
I wish a dual narrator. A male voice for the male character
The story line is so flat. This could be a 1 hr novella.
Alessandra Torre is just a really good writer..and the narrator was great to...
Well I don't want to say because of spoiler stuff...
she did a great job with both...really good
I did listen to it in 1day...it was that kinda book..Great Book
Too busy to read as much as I'd like, Audible is the perfect solution. I'm a romance reader mostly, but can stray into any story.
Oh what a spark had ignited between Kate and Trey the day she began working for the Lingerie mogul. It started small and throughout the trials and tribulations of bringing the failing company back to life, that spark started burning hotter and hotter until it fully ignited into an all out 5 alarm fire.
This was probably the slowest burn in a book I have read or listened to. Although at one point I was like... come on! Just happen!! The waiting ended up being worth it and I just loved the story.
Rose Dioro is an awesome narrator and was perfect for Kate. I really wish it would have been dual narration since Trey did have his own chapters, but Rose handled it with ease.
I really enjoyed this book. Throughout the book I kept telling the characters to "just get together already." This is the story of a rambling CEO of a lingerie company and a very staid, on the outside, designer. They meet and the attraction is immediate. She falls for straight laced guys who are smart but boring. He is a swinger who loves all women. He just wants to make them happy and move on. They enter into a successful business arrangement and a close friendship. Times passes and they keep being drawn to each other. Let's just say I got my HEA.
The narration for this book suited the story and the female character perfectly. At first, I thought she was too sexy, breathy voiced, but as I got to know the female character the more appropriate her narration seemed. This is a "light" read with some humor and lots of steam. I know I will listen to more by this author and this narrator.
This is the ultimate denial. Co-workers, boss-employee, friends to lovers, or really, friends to forever love.
Trey knows who he is at what he likes. He likes Kate but withholds who he really is from her because he knows that's not who she is. Kate is looking for safe and reliable, and that is the opposite of who Trey is.
Friendship and a strong working relationship builds as they stabilize and grow his company together. All the while the sparks fly and lines are crossed professionally. But denial has become an art for these two.
The chemistry and awareness is there, always. They try other relationships to meet their personal needs, settling for and into them. Each watching the other, knowing it's all wrong. Neither will act.
A future hangs on the balance and truths are told; painful and shocking truths. The future seems to be crumbling and hurts mount.
When it happens (and it does) it's the culmination of years of denial, years log lust, years of...love, and it's beautiful. Hot! 🔥🔥🔥 sexy as hell, but perfectly tender.
Get ready to ride the emotional rollercoaster of denial and sexual frustration! It's worth it for the fireworks at the end.
I listened to this book, and let me tell you it probably made me cry harder just listening to the heartbreak sometimes. Trey and Kate were immediately attracted to one another, but being that they worked together that just couldn't happen. They became best friends... Truly relying on one another for years, while in love with each other and doing nothing about it AND not telling each other.
This is not your typical "love you but can't have you" story. I was driving home from work crying in my car. LOL. Their lives continued on, while they watched each other live without the other. I'm not sure I could've done that, but they really did work together as a team in amazing fashion.. Trey just couldn't do anything about it, until it was too late.
I honestly wasn't sure how this book was going to end. Sometimes you could see the HEA, but then other times you just can't. I'm not spoiling this to say it ends the way most would anticipate, because this book is definitely worth reading to figure that out.
Love in Lingerie was fun, flirty, and sexy as all get out. The narrator did an amazing job. It was so not what I expected but it was exactly what it should be, which is why I loved it so much. This story reminds me of a forbidden dance that builds and builds or a volcano as it's about to erupt. You can anticipate the heat but it's the hottest just before it blows! 5 sexy stars!
