Love Irresistibly

I am loving this series! Each one is different and can be read alone even though they have some of the same characters...Cade Morgan is a former college football star who became a star attorney as a prosecutor for the U.S. and as a AUSA he is a rising star and takes down politicians and terrorists alike. Now he needs the help of Brooke Parker, the corporate attorney for a restaurant company, to bring down one of those corrupt politicians. They strike up a partnership and together their banter and snark is wonderful and they find something together neither were looking for.

This is one of the author's more intricate stories surrounding the Assistant US attorney and a legal counsel. They meet during an investigation when Cade seeks Brooke's help. Sparks fly instantly and burn the characters defenses as the story unfolds. There is the side story of Cade's father and his abandonment issues that show up in a few places but without making the story heavy. A great book for an quick, fun and easy read.

Julie James Does it Again!

Julie James, always one of my favorite go to romance authors, has done it again with Love Irresistibly, the fourth installment of her US Attorney Series. I always know when I pick up one of her books I am in for a good time and she did not disappoint with this story about Assistant U. S. Prosecutor Cade Morgan and Brooke Parker, general counsel for a large restaurant corporation. Cade and Brooke get off to a little bit of a rocky start as her characters usually do, but the witty banter between them is mesmerizing and laugh-out-loud funny. Ms. James has a special talent for writing the most fascinating conversations between her characters.

We last saw Cade in About That Night and I was so happy she chose to give him his chance in this book as we really get a chance to learn his back story and what makes him tick. He has things in his past, particularly his childhood that make it difficult for him to trust and commit. The budding relationship between the two is believable and their chemistry was off-the-charts hot! Brooke is a woman who has given up her life for her career and she has to come to grips with what she really wants in life so it was fun to see them both wake up and smell the roses!

The secondary characters in this book were very important as well, both new and old, and it was fun to see my favorites from the previous books make an appearance. Now I’m left wondering who will star in the next installment. Can’t wait!

Getting over the past

I really enjoyed Cade and Brooke's story. I think I kinda identified with Cade and his familial situation. I even cried a big when he connected with his father at the end. I understood Brooke's situation as well. At first I was going to be upset with the author if had Brooke give up her opportunity for a man, but I loved the alternative she did put in front of her.

Loved Zach and him trying to connect with his brother.

Really good story.

Fast read. Does not drag. Funny and captures relationships with deadbeat dads.

This is at least the fifth time I’ve listened to this book, after reading it at least two times before going audible. I love the entire FBI/USA series, and her first two books, as well. Smart, sassy, clever, intelligent, with two perfectly imperfect protagonists, coupled with one of my favorite narrators, all of Ms. James books will have you reaching for the next one. Each FBI/U S Attorney books are stand alones, but I started at the beginning and can recommend doing that.

Naughty and Nice

She's an heiress, he's a top notch lawyer. She helps in a sting operation thinking her man is a total jerk when suddenly things change. Ah love!! His brains and some gorgeous muscle mass makes her change her mind about him. Her wit and gorgeous legs seal the deal for him. Love Julie James stories. Wish there were more!!

Good romance

Would you listen to Love Irresistibly again? Why?

I enjoy Karen White's narration. The banter between characters is well written.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Love Irresistibly?

The scene on the plane when Brooke was on her way to Charlotte was funny and significant to the plot.

Which character – as performed by Karen White – was your favorite?

Ford, her " best friend with a penis" and his two buddies really added to the story.

I liked the story and the characters. It is one I recommend, but I have to say her first book in the series is so far the best.

Totally winsome!

Julie James is a gifted author. It is such a pleasure to read adult story lines that are creative and not insulting. Many romance writers labor under the impression that raw wordage is “romantic “ when it’s actually boring. It takes a keen knowledge of the English language to draw a reader into the plot and “woo” him/her. A few naughty words is an easy no-talent, ploy. Ms.James really wins the heart 💜! Thanks

When they finally realized they were both in luv wit the other.

What does Karen White bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Sound to the voices. She did a really great job.

This is a great funny romance book. A few sex part not overloaded. But the way the 2 main characters act wit each other. I luv the whole series.
