True love: good from the first bite….
Etienne Argeneau’s 300 years of bachelorhood were at an end. Either that, or he’d be forever alone. He could only turn one human in his lifetime, and most of his kind created a life mate. If he turned this stranger…. But what choice did he have? He had to help Rachel Garrett. The beautiful coroner had saved his life. To save hers, he would make her immortal.
To the last....
Rachel Garrett awoke surprised. All she’d wanted was to get off the night shift in the morgue; now here she was staggering to her feet naked and in a strange place. But everything would be alright. She’d just make like a bat out of.... Then she saw the man of her dreams emerging from his…coffin? And the look in his bright silver eyes said they’d be spending a lot of time together. She just hoped he tasted as good as he looked.

"Sands' deliciously sexy comedic series featuring the charismatic Argeneau clan is a delight." (Booklist)
First of all this is a great fun read. I've never been into romances before but this had enough excitement, adventure and danger to keep my attention. MOST IMPORTANT THING: you need to know is THIS IS BOOK TWO! Check the Author's website. Book one is actually A Quick Bite. I was confused at first, looking like everyone for book two, but she explaines it on her website. I don't know why audible has not corrected it.
PNR is my prefered genre, but I also enjoy any lighthearted, funny, steamy stories. Listening to books helps me to do mindless housework.
I bought this book after seeing it on a couple of "funny/LOL vampire romance book" suggestion lists on Amazon. Although I didn't find this LOL, I did find it amusing at times, but more than that, it was a sweet (and at times hot (definatly an adult story), but not smutty) romance story. Pleasent suprise, no profanity, and very minimal violence. I appreciated the "scientific" take on the this author's version of what vampires are. It was a very enjoyable story and I look forward to continuing the series (although unfortunatly it doesn't appear book 2 is avail. on audio).
My one and only critcism would be I felt the narrator used a rather rushed pace, however the narrator did do a good job; she has a very pleasent voice, and I appreciated the different "charater" voices she did.

This is the first book I have been introduced to, in this series and I cannot wait to listen to all of the remaining books! I loved the writing style and the characters.
think it is a fun series but a lusty book. I liked the narrator after I got use to listening to her. After listening to 8 books in a series with 1 narrator you have to adjust to a different narrator. I will have a better idea after listening to the next book! Stay tuned!!
No. I've read many other similar books and enjoyed them more than this one
The performance was very upbeat and kept me reading. Her narration improved the book in my opinion.
So clever to introduce the family of characters in the first two books and then feature each one in the series.
Loved Angela Dawe's narration. I thought she did an excellent job of bringing all the characters to life. Which they are. They are not dead. They have nanos. (I love this premise!)
Made for a good listen. Angela Dawe did a fantastic job. My only regret is that she isn't reading the other books. Kept my interest through the entire book. I laughed, I cryed a little to much sex for my taste but other than that I cant wait to read the next one.
Less repetition? She sees a gorgeous corpse (male) on her morgue table suddenly come back to life. She faints.
She sees a gorgeous corpse (male) on her morgue table suddenly come back to life. She faints. And no, I am not repeating myself - it's the second meeting ))))
She comes to herself in a strange place, naked, grabs a sheet and goes exploring the house. She sees the same attractive "corpse", faints and he carries her back to her bedroom.
She comes to herself in a strange place, naked, grabs a sheet and goes exploring the house. She sees the same attractive "corpse", faints and he carries her back to her bedroom. Honest, I am not repeating myself - it's the second meeting in Etienne's house.
Most of the dialogues are repeated several times taking pages and pages. I really do not feel like listening to the heroine's boring whining for hour after hour.
Irritating hard staccato.
All of them.
One of the most unimaginative and boring romance novels I've seen (heard).
This is a book that I have had for years. Have always enjoyed Lynsey Sands book and decided to get in audible.
My issue is with the narrator. Different voices are good. It is the narration that I have problems with. Just seems to talk in a sing song/ droning voice. Did not enjoy much at all because of it.
Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
I purchased this book due to Ms Dawe as the reader. She brings out the best in this author.
There are many tender moments but if you are in a hurry, you will miss them. This story is about the sweetest son, Etienne. They don't make them any more of a gentleman than this one.
When Etienne is first in conversation with his mother and brother. So sweet!
I am a huge fan of Ms Dawe. Her male and childrens voices are great. Note: I do use the new 1.25x speed to capture the essences of the author's intent.
See Julie Garwood's Sweet Talk, Tiffany Snow series YUM, and Nora Robert's MacGregor series/Hanna Howell.
this is a light series, intended to make you smile and feel good. Nothing deep or dark, subtle humor and if in a big hurry, you may miss it if you are new to this author.
Note: I buy by the reader as they can make or break a series. See Hanna Howell's series read by Ms Dawe, great.
"Good if not a little annoying at times"
I found this to be a good book although the parts where she goes back and forth thinking she's in a dream or that people are 'mad' or 'insane' get a little tedious because after being provided with irrefutable evidence of Vampyres she still insists on playing dumb. Aside from this the storyline is quite good and gives a nice peak into the other Argeneau family members which gives a good incentive to read the others in the series.
"Love Bites Lyndsay Sands"
Loved it! very funny, I have listened to it 3 times now still makes me giggle.
"Great for a holiday read"
It's part of a great vampire series, about a family who are just like any normal one, they love, squabble, get involved in each other's lives and generally interfere... I'm so pleased to have discovered these books, this is the second that ive read. I'm glad that I downloaded it for our holiday, as I've listened to it non stop! The books are laugh out loud funny. I can't wait to read the next one!
