True love: good from the first bite….
Etienne Argeneau’s 300 years of bachelorhood were at an end. Either that, or he’d be forever alone. He could only turn one human in his lifetime, and most of his kind created a life mate. If he turned this stranger…. But what choice did he have? He had to help Rachel Garrett. The beautiful coroner had saved his life. To save hers, he would make her immortal.
To the last....
Rachel Garrett awoke surprised. All she’d wanted was to get off the night shift in the morgue; now here she was staggering to her feet naked and in a strange place. But everything would be alright. She’d just make like a bat out of.... Then she saw the man of her dreams emerging from his…coffin? And the look in his bright silver eyes said they’d be spending a lot of time together. She just hoped he tasted as good as he looked.

"Sands' deliciously sexy comedic series featuring the charismatic Argeneau clan is a delight." (Booklist)
First of all this is a great fun read. I've never been into romances before but this had enough excitement, adventure and danger to keep my attention. MOST IMPORTANT THING: you need to know is THIS IS BOOK TWO! Check the Author's website. Book one is actually A Quick Bite. I was confused at first, looking like everyone for book two, but she explaines it on her website. I don't know why audible has not corrected it.
PNR is my prefered genre, but I also enjoy any lighthearted, funny, steamy stories. Listening to books helps me to do mindless housework.
I bought this book after seeing it on a couple of "funny/LOL vampire romance book" suggestion lists on Amazon. Although I didn't find this LOL, I did find it amusing at times, but more than that, it was a sweet (and at times hot (definatly an adult story), but not smutty) romance story. Pleasent suprise, no profanity, and very minimal violence. I appreciated the "scientific" take on the this author's version of what vampires are. It was a very enjoyable story and I look forward to continuing the series (although unfortunatly it doesn't appear book 2 is avail. on audio).
My one and only critcism would be I felt the narrator used a rather rushed pace, however the narrator did do a good job; she has a very pleasent voice, and I appreciated the different "charater" voices she did.

This is the first book I have been introduced to, in this series and I cannot wait to listen to all of the remaining books! I loved the writing style and the characters.
So clever to introduce the family of characters in the first two books and then feature each one in the series.
Loved Angela Dawe's narration. I thought she did an excellent job of bringing all the characters to life. Which they are. They are not dead. They have nanos. (I love this premise!)
Made for a good listen. Angela Dawe did a fantastic job. My only regret is that she isn't reading the other books. Kept my interest through the entire book. I laughed, I cryed a little to much sex for my taste but other than that I cant wait to read the next one.
I enjoy historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance. Also steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, suspense, and fiction. I'm open to about anything
Setting: Los Angeles contemporary
Genre: Paranormal romance
This was a story about a vampire being hunted unsuccessfully by an unstable person, and a woman who was turned into a vampire against her will. The sanity-impaired guy keeps trying to kill Etienne who in a couple of instances shows up at the morgue for post-mortem examination. He heals himself before Rachel, the coroner on duty, can cut him in both cases. In the second episode, she saves her recently revived patient by taking an axe in the chest. She's dying quickly, so Etienne decides to change her into a vampire. The story revolves around catching the murderous flake, and Rachel dealing with her vampirism. There was no nail-biting suspense, but there were a few laughs. I did get pissed off at Rachel, because she was all up in arms about being changed against her will. What? She'd rather have bled out on the floor of the morgue? The story here was a high average if you like a light paranormal romance. Dracula this is not, so skip it if that is your preference.
The narration brought this to the high in average. Angela Dawe is uneven in her performances. Some are good, some not so much. This was one of the good ones.
In regards to this series, I do wish they'd find a good narrator and stick with her (or him) throughout. Ah well, that's not to be the case...
Eclectic, veracious reader hardcover, paperback, ebooks, and audible books. Also have an appreciation for many types of prose.
No. I've read many other similar books and enjoyed them more than this one
The performance was very upbeat and kept me reading. Her narration improved the book in my opinion.
I cannot stand stupid people! The characters in this book were stupid! I didn't buy any of this story. A guy named Pudge wants to become a vampire and stalks the idiot hero. Girl gets killed trying to save a corpse--also known as the Hero. Pudge finds a way to break into the hero's home and kidnaps heroine. This book was unbelievable story that seems to just been written to pump out a book. This was not funny or entertaining! I know this won't help many decide whether to read or not--take my advice. Save your money. Other books have better plots and better stories. One pet peeve--Why does it need an epilogue? Others will say, why did you read it? In my family, you always finish the book! Always!
I like this one on audio about the same as reading it. This book is light and fluffy so it was easy and smooth. The Blurb is pretty accurate about how Etienne Argeneau found his lifemate in Rachel Garrett.
This 300 year old vampire met his match in the Night shift coroner and it was an entertaining journey. I will slowly make my way through this series

It's well worth a credit. I've read this book many times and now bought it in audio form and quite enjoyed it.
I love how Lynsay Sands writes w/ a since of humor. Love the characters.
She wasn't amazing but better than most I've listened to.
Love really Bites (Wink, Wink)
"Good if not a little annoying at times"
I found this to be a good book although the parts where she goes back and forth thinking she's in a dream or that people are 'mad' or 'insane' get a little tedious because after being provided with irrefutable evidence of Vampyres she still insists on playing dumb. Aside from this the storyline is quite good and gives a nice peak into the other Argeneau family members which gives a good incentive to read the others in the series.
"Love Bites Lyndsay Sands"
Loved it! very funny, I have listened to it 3 times now still makes me giggle.
"Great for a holiday read"
It's part of a great vampire series, about a family who are just like any normal one, they love, squabble, get involved in each other's lives and generally interfere... I'm so pleased to have discovered these books, this is the second that ive read. I'm glad that I downloaded it for our holiday, as I've listened to it non stop! The books are laugh out loud funny. I can't wait to read the next one!
