Publisher's summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Kresley Cole continues her electrifying Immortals After Dark series with this thrilling tale, revealing secrets of the Lore, fierce realm of the immortals....

All fear the enemy of old.

Driven by his insatiable need for revenge, Lothaire, the Lore’s most ruthless vampire, plots to seize the Horde’s crown. But bloodlust and torture have left him on the brink of madness - until he finds Elizabeth Peirce, the key to his victory. He captures the unique young mortal, intending to offer up her very soul in exchange for power, yet Elizabeth soothes his tormented mind and awakens within him emotions Lothaire believed he could no longer experience.

A deadly force dwells within her.

Growing up in desperate poverty, Ellie Peirce yearned for a better life, never imagining she’d be convicted of murder - or that an evil immortal would abduct her from death row. But Lothaire is no savior, as he himself plans to sacrifice Ellie in one month’s time. And yet the vampire seems to ache for her touch, showering her with wealth and sexual pleasure. In a bid to save her soul, Ellie surrenders her body to the wicked vampire, while vowing to protect her heart.

Centuries of cold indifference shattered.

Elizabeth tempts Lothaire beyond reason, as only his fated mate could. As the month draws to a close, he must choose between a millennia-old blood vendetta and his irresistible prisoner. Will Lothaire succumb to the miseries of his past - or risk everything for a future with her?

Loved it.. Loved it... Loved it

Where does Lothaire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It has just made a giant leap to top of the list on my iPod

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lothaire?

To many to mention

What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He does an absolutely brilliant job of Lothaire the character (unfortunately being a male his female voices are a little off but forgivable). I think Robert really enjoyed reading this book, which made it a great story to listen too.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Twilight + Lord of the Rings + Exocist = Lothaire

Any additional comments?

A few laughs, at voices plus dialogue. Just loved the book... Will be buying a hard copy too.

Wild For Her

Would you listen to Lothaire again? Why?

This was a long one, but you get deep into it real fast! This is my fave of the 10 I own. I have not listened in the written order and I am real glad I did not as I would have lost interest. This one is hot and funny and seems different than the others I purchased. More intense in every aspect. You learn to love Lothaire as a hunk after 16 hrs of a fast pace.

What other book might you compare Lothaire to and why?

He is a real bad ass kind of character. If you love this type, then you will love this book as much as I did. Try Sandra brown Slow Heat in Heaven

Which character – as performed by Robert Petkoff – was your favorite?

I had to get use to the Russian accent, but ended up loving it after 16 hrs. Thaddeus was such a sweet heart. RP is a genius with voices and this series. KC has gotten much better in telling a story as this series progresses. I feel her later stories are much better than the first few. If you must listen in order, press on to at least this book. It will not disappoint you.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The sex scenes were so very hot and erotic. Very well done and great use of the imagination and storyline. Beware, they are erotic.

Any additional comments?

Do not let the long listen keep you from buying this great listen! I put off starting as I did not want to comit 16 hrs. Oh I did not want it to end it was that good and fast paced.

Lothaire Rocks!

I have read all Kresley Cole's books in the Immortals After Dark series, and I could not wait to read Lothaire. He is totally hot, both evil and good, all combined into one. I love the narrator - Robert Petkoff - as he makes the books very interesting and exciting to listed to. Ellie, the heronie, is pretty white trash, and her accent was true to form, but at times annoying, largely because it was so real! I wish more of this series was on audible. I listed to the first 2 books on audible and was so hooked, I went and bought the others in paperback! I can't wait to listen to them again on audible.

Loved it!

Lothaire is a treat. They gave him the perfect mate. This by far is one of the best books in the series. We now know that Lothaire is not all bad & has some goodness in him.

Robert the sometimes Russian, ily

Robert Petkoff is an INCREDIBLE narrator. I have never enjoyed a book on audible as much as this one and I have Robert to thank. His accents are stellar. I've read this book before, but I enjoyed it infinitely more with Lothaire read with a thick Russian accent.

Hilarious!

Kresley Cole has sold me! the book is very FUNNY granted one must get pass the first 3 hours, it has a slow build but is necessary to the story. When Ellie starts her hillbilly talking I cracked up "that mouth of Yorns" and "I rode you like a lazy horse and made you cream jeans" Some said it was too long, what couples you know just make up instantaneous over a little misunderstanding of almost beheading?? It also brings in the world of Ivana's (Lothaire's mother) people she was looking for and telling him about at the beginning of the story. GET IT! you will not be disappointed
