The city of Little Memphis is filled with violence and dubious loyalties. The days of the club's supremacy are over as enemies fight for territory and alliances fall apart. It's a dangerous time to find love, but Ford and Shay have never been good at playing life smart.

    "Adult Contemporary Romance"

I really enjoyed the last few chapters. I like a sweet HEA. The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.

I would have liked it better if there were less curse words. The language was too much for me. It was way too strong for my taste.

The characters were ok but the way the author describes Ford doesn't seem appealing or attractive to me. There seemed to be a lot of dialog but not much descriptive detail about people and places.

The story was written in dual POV which I enjoy.

If you could sum up Little Memphis in three words, what would they be?

    An Excellent Listen.

What other book might you compare Little Memphis to and why?

Well its an extended or spin off of The Damaged Series... So it's all tired together ... Love that in a series...

Have you listened to any of Meghan Kelly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Great as Always..

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All the compulsive spelling by Bebe... Too Funny.

    Any additional comments?

Well Shay rides in on the back of Jokers Bike... So small town gossip thinks it's his long lost Daugther... Reality he sees her in a Strip joint a town over getting man handled by an ar$ehole & steps in to help... Offers her an out that she takes & rides off to Little Memphis & his MC ... She's waiting to see what he or they really want but gets introduced to a bunch of people that she soon realise's that she's starting to like ...a lot ! One in particular the man whore Ford... Him & his brother who Ford has raised are Enforcers for the club... Only thing she misses her little brothers .. With a dead beat mother she took over that job.. Hence why she was stripping.. No one thinks Ford will ever stop his man who're ways but Shay has triggered something inside Ford that even shocked him... Was an Excellent book to read & was just as great to Listen to.. Well worth my money & time.. Very entertaining while doing the Mundane ... ❤️❤️,❤️Ed this book.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If the author wrote more likeable heroes. I know its an MC book and the males are usually a-holes, but for the story to work, I need both a strong heroine and a hero I find likeable enough to be worthy of the heroine. For the first part of the book, Ford wasn't that. But he did redeem himself later on when he embraced his relationship with Shay.

What about Meghan Kelly’s performance did you like?

Meghan's narration was the best part of Little Memphis. She did a great job narrating the various characters, their emotions, the drama and sweet moments in the book.Meghan narrated the various MC members perfectly, their gruff voices were spot on and my favorite of hers.

    Any additional comments?

Little Memphis might not have worked for me, but the narration by Meghan Kelly and the plot which were light on drama and violence are points in its favor.

    "Good book with good narration"

Story: A bit hit and miss for me. Quite entertaining but the time line changes made the book rather confusing at times. With that being said, I thought the story was quite good, with occasional humour. I felt the author portrayed emotions very well and the characters were nicely written and fleshed-out.

Narrator: The narrations was, on the whore, very well done. There were times (very occasional) that the narration felt stilted but this was very rare and can happen with any audiobook. Other than that, I felt the characters were portrayed very well and I enjoyed listening to the narrator’s voice.

P.S. This audiobook was provided by the narrator free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

What did you love best about Little Memphis?

The story line kept me guessing about would she stay or go.

What did you like best about this story?

The story was well written and kept my interest. I found myself listening during my workday just so I could find out what happened with Shay next.

Have you listened to any of Meghan Kelly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've never listened to Meghan Kelly before, so listening to here was fun and exciting. There are some readers who don't change voices, but Meghan did and that helps the characters come alive for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The part of the story with Shay's brothers touched me. I also loved that there was an epilogue on the story so I learned what happened when the story ended. That was great as most authors do not do that.

Would you consider the audio edition of Little Memphis to be better than the print version?

    I don't know, i haven't read the print version.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Little Memphis?

The most memorable moment was the first time Shay beat the crap out of the creepy biker. i also liked when Shay first Met Ford and his brother.

Have you listened to any of Meghan Kelly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not, but Meghan Kelly did a great job although sometimes i found her voice a little off putting, but once i got used to it, it was all good

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't know, i wish these reviews would not ask this question, i never know what to put.... but it might make a good movie, but there would need to be a little more action.

When Ford tells her the plan to get her two younger brothers to come to little Memphis.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed the whole book, the story line had me from chapter 1 until the end. To watch the fight the attraction they had for one was heartwarming. I love to see strong alpha males fall in love.

    "Wow I love these characters!!"

What a great bunch of people in this book. I can't say that the plot was very original, but I can say that these characters made the book intriguing from Chapter one.
Shay hitches a ride out of town with Lucky, a biker seemingly passing through town. She is dropped to stay at a house with Darby. Before she even gets settled, she gets knocked off her feet when she meets brothers Ford and Pax, who are the hot alpha males that you will love!
Shay is portrayed as an extremely impulsive individual in the beginning of this book although she shows a lot of restraint throughout the book which is a mild contradiction; however I think this shows the responsibility and maturity this young 20-year old has developed during her difficult life. Darby is one of my favorite characters in this book. She is eccentric and awesome, and she doesn't care who does and who doesn't know it. Ford and Pax's relationship is fun and light-hearted which is a complete contradiction to their harsh exterior and brutal occupations, and you can't help but love them.
The narration wasn't great, but didn't detract from the story. Meghan Kelly did a decent job with Shay's portion but I think this would've been better with a male portraying Ford or a female that is better at portraying the male voice. I would try another book narrated by Meghan if she is only portraying the female voice.
I would recommend this book for a listen if you love a great group of different characters, an HEA, and hot alpha males on a Harley.

    "Better in Print, I think"
Would you listen to Little Memphis again? Why?

Probably not. I would read the book in print though.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I didn't care for the narrators voice at all. She made the heroine sound stupid and vapid. I personally didn't think she did the male voices well either...especially those of Joker and Lucky. I would imagine this would be a difficult book to narrate though as there is a big cast of characters (a large portion of them being male). I got used to it after a while, but I believe I would have enjoyed it more in print.

    Any additional comments?

I really liked the story. The author didn't sugar coat or romanticize the less savory aspects of the MC. As I said before, I think I would have liked the book better had I read it in print. I could have come up with better voices for the characters in my head. The author created very unique characters that made me laugh (Darby, Pax, etc). The banter between the brothers was humorous and the connection between Shay and Ford was natural and organic. I thought that there could have been more of a climactic experience that forced their decision about their relationship though. I liked that, though this book is part of a series, it didn't end with a cliffhanger. The author tells you what happens and how life goes for the main characters down the road.

    "Great Book!"
    Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the first book in the Little Memphis Series written by Bijou Hunter and narrated by Meghan Kelly. This book can be listened to in one sitting if you have the time, once I started listening to it I didn’t want to put it down until the end. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. Shay makes an impulsive choice to start over her life in a wild city controlled by a motorcycle club. Meeting Shay at the MC's bar Suede, Ford sees her as a shiny new toy to spice up his life. Shay sees him as a sexy bastard she needs to avoid.

The narrator Meghan Kelly did a great job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a fun book with great characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.
