Who wants to marry my daughter?

Skye Titan's wealthy father thinks he can still dictate his daughter's choice in men. Now widowed and a single mother, Skye isn't the yes-girl she once was. Especially since the love of her life is back in Texas after eight long years. He won't like the answers to the questions he's asking. About why she left him at the altar. And about her eight-year-old daughter.

Former Navy SEAL Mitch Cassidy comes home to find nearly everything different. His wounds from battle have changed the way people treat him. His cattle ranch is suddenly organic. But time hasn't touched his desire for Skye - or the sting of her betrayal. Forget lip service. He's asking that luscious mouth of hers to reveal the truth. But will Mitch be able to put the past aside to help Skye get out from under her father's thumb...and help himself recover from a broken heart?

Excellent listen all the way through!

Would you listen to Lip Service again? Why?

Yes! I like the lead characters and will want to visit them again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really liked Mitch. I liked seeing his transformation from the beginning of the story to the end.

Which character – as performed by Julie Francis – was your favorite?

Oh that's easy, Skye. She gives Skye this light and feminine voice you just want to cringe at first but it absolutely fits her socialite personality. However there is much more to Skye than is on the surface....

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, I just enjoyed listening to it and looked forward to each listening session.

Any additional comments?

Skye and Mitch's story is worth listening to. Susan Mallery does a great job telling this one. There is anger, passion, love, mixed loyalties, intrigue and much more.

Just Okay!

Definitely not Susan Mallery's best. The plot is predictable and Skye's character too shallow to be believable. This, in conjunction with the less than mediocre narration, made the book a struggle to get through. I continued because I'd enjoyed the first in the series and have great hopes for the 3rd.

COULDN'T FINISH THE BOOK!!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE--I USUALLY ENJOY SUSAN MALLERY'S BOOKS, BUT THIS ONE I COULDN'T FINISH. THE STORY WAS IMPLAUSABLE AND THE NARRATOR WAS JUST ANOYING! I TRIED TO LISTEN TO THIS STORY THREE DIFFERENT TIMES BEFORE WRITING THIS, BUT AFTER JUST A FEW HOURS, I HAD TO STOP. BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME MS. MALLERY.

I am a new audible book buyer - only 8 or 9 so far - and I guess I thought they were all good. This is the first time I've encountered such a bad reader. 10 minutes in and I'm already tired of hearing her swallow. Just listened to another book with southern accents that was fine. These accents are cloying and annoying. I won't buy another book narrated by this person.

not as good

I enjoyed this series except this one I got annoyed with Skye. She was such a wimp.. letting her father get away with all the threats, etc.

I agree with the other reviews, Susan Mallery has lost her way in this series. I am a huge fan and hoping the next book is better. The other problem for me is the narrator. She is beyond annoying. I want Therese Plummer back, at least if the book isn't up to par,Plummer makes it bearable. All in all, the story was a bit off-beat for me.
