A USA Today best-selling book. Leo is a full-length, standalone romance.
Evie and Leo met in foster care as children and formed a bond of friendship. As they grew, their bond turned to love, and they vowed to make a life together when they turned 18 and were no longer a part of the system.
When Leo unexpectedly gets adopted as a teen and moves to another city, he promises Evie that he will contact her as soon as he gets there and come back for her in a few short years. She never hears from him again.
Now, eight years later, in spite of the odds, Evie has made a life for herself. She has a job. She has friends. She's content. Then a man shows up out of the blue, claiming that her long-lost love Leo sent him to check up on her. The attraction between them is undeniable. But should she trust this sexy stranger? Or is he keeping a secret about what his connection to Leo is really all about and why Leo disappeared all those years ago?
New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this audiobook is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.

I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Evie was 10 and Leo was 11 when they first became friends in Foster Care then, by the time they were 14 and 15 they had fallen in love with each other and even dreamed of a future together. But the unthinkable happened when Leo was adopted and the two devastated friends shared their first kiss and promised to keep in touch..... a promise that Leo never kept. Years later all grown up Evie was being stalked by Jake a handsome, sexy, deep brown eyed stranger....... but he had some bad news for her.
This story, that went back and forth in time to tell their love story, gripped me from the start even though I had my doubts and suspicions about the stranger who soon became Evie's whole world as their sizzling chemistry quickly boiled over. But the tragic story of what happened to Leo was a chilling and heartbreaking revelation. There's drama, angst, humor, heartbreak, secrets, revelations, romance and lust filled sex.
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, very good dual narration, a well written captivating story with likeable primary and secondary characters and a romantic sweet Epilogue makes this a very creditworthy listen. And Mia Sheridan is an author whose imaginative and romantic words have made her books an auto download for me.
I didn't read the print version but the audio was good.
It compares to most romance novels. You see the ending coming a mile away. Happy endings and childlike love
Excellent reading/acting skills
No just easy listen very predicable
The only think that was completely irritating to me was the constant verbiage during the hot sex scenes with often was "Jesus" and "Christ". Not sure why those needed to consistently said.
I really wanted to like this book. While I was in the early stages I was intrigued. I wanted to know why we were getting backstory on Leo when this new guy was on the scene. I wanted to know if the hero was actually an antagonist and maybe he did something to Leo.
Unfortunately, I grew tired of the story before my questions were answered. And I grew annoyed anticipating an ending that I knew would be too easily explained.
I ended up skipping parts in an effort to get to the end so I could tell myself, 'I told you so' about who Jake really was.
The narration made the book IMO. I don't think I would've enjoyed this story at all if I read it.
This was a 'nice' story but nothing that blew me away. it just didn't seem like there was a whole lot there and kind of predictable. I thought that Maxine Mitchell did a pretty good job as a narrator.
I have become a big Mia Sheridan fan. I truly enjoy the way her books are not just love stories; but stories of hope, courage and redemption.
Live dealt the hero and heroine a lot of challenges; eventually they rose above what live dealt them and found each other and also made a difference it their world.
The chemistry between the couple was also great. I highly recommend this book.
After reading or listening to her books I usually have a smile on my face and hope in my heart.
Leo is a sweet but tragic love story. Young love. Teens filled with hope despite their surroundings and the less than stellar lots they were delivered versed in life. They believed in love and a future together even as life and circumstances took them far apart.
Life is not fair and bad things happen to good people every day.
Evie survived and grew up to be a sweet, kind-hearted young woman, unafraid to work hard for everything she earned in life. She found happiness in her successes and friendships.
Leo, an unwitting victim, fell into despair and darkness and made poor choices.
Life continues, as it does for us all. No do-overs. Sometimes we find ourselves waiting, almost in a holding pattern, afraid to take the next step. Other times we let life run us over, swept along and not really participating. Sometimes we are lucky to have loved that one special person, and had that one beautiful friend, or been someone/did something important to/for another.
Leo is truly a special story where you can see the goodness in people and hope you are as good as you can be. Enjoy Leo as it has a story many can find a life lesson in. Do better, be better. Love strong and hold on.
I really enjoyed the history that the 2 main characters had. It added layers and texture to the characters & plot. Steamy scenes but not so over the top as to overshadow the story as sometimes happens. I would definitely recommend.
