Publisher's summary

USA Today best-selling author Stef Ann Holm's Leaving Normal features the growing relationship between two divorced neighbors. After ending her marriage, 43-year-old Natalie Goodwin opens the floral shop of her dreams. But pouring all of her energy into her new enterprise doesn't keep her from noticing the ruggedly handsome fireman across the street, 34-year-old Tony Cruz, though he's married and safely unavailable. When Tony's philandering wife dumps him, however, Natalie begins a friendship that gradually evolves into more. But soon Tony's desire for children complicates Natalie's ideal romance.

Thi story is a good example of overcoming obstacle

The character of Natalie drove me nuts at times. I wish she would have giving in to her true feelings sooner. then again, her confliction added to the story line. At times I felt the narration was flat. I kind of got bored listening to her voice.

Hard to listen to...

The narrator of this book is horrible. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. She drags this book out it could and should be read in a few hours!! There is NO PLOT either. Don't waste your money!

Solid 4 Stars

So glad I ignored the reviews on this one. The narrator was ok. I don't mind vanilla narration. The story was long but an enjoyable listen with a happy ending. I love stories with strong family dynamics.

A Disappointment

I had high hopes for this book due to its 3.75 rating. However, I had to force myself to finish it. Talk about slow moving and boring! I walk half an hour everyday and clock myself on my pedometer. The initial sex scene of the main characters lasted longer than that. It was so detailed that the sexual tension the author had built up for more than half the book dissipated. It wasn’t hot, it was tedious. The narrator didn’t help. This was not a performance, but a read. Check out books read by Barbara Rosenblat if you like your books performed, rather than read to you in a semi-monotone.

horrid narrator

This book just drones on and on and never finishes the small subplots. The main character also contradicts herself on more than one occasion. Add to this an absolutely horrid narrator who sounds like "Rose" from the tv show "Golden Girls" and you have got yourself a story that you just can't wait to end! I am making a note to remember NEVER to listen to this narrator again!
