Love is just around the corner . . .
Sweet, shy Mara Hanover is in love with her neighbor. For four years, she has secretly watched her dream man from afar. Handsome police detective Mitch Lawson is way out of her league. She's a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, and there's no way a guy like Mitch would want anything to do with her. But when Mara has a leaky faucet that she can't fix, it's Mitch who comes to her rescue.
Mitch has been eyeing his beautiful neighbor for a long time. He jumps at the chance to help her, and soon their formerly platonic relationship gets very hot and heavy. But when Mara gets a disturbing phone call from her cousin's kids, she gets pulled back into the life she's tried so hard to leave behind. Can the hot law man convince Mara to let go of her past-and build a future with him? (Dream Man Series, Book 3)

I'm so excited that this series is on audible. This title is the 3rd book in the series and focuses on detective Mitch Lawson. If you haven't read the previous titles, it's okay, but of course it flows better if you have.
As always Kristen Ashley has given us a well rounded hero and heroine with a juicy plot, sub-characters and hilarious dialogue! I found myself LOL most of the time. I don't want to give away the story, but there's a whole lot of action, and romance that lead to the HEA..and what fun it was! Is this worth a credit? Definitely!
Every once in a while I need a dose of Kristen Ashley. And I enjoyed a lot of this, but I became impatient. I listened to about 2/3 then skipped to the end. (According to other readers, I may have skipped the best part.)
More than half the book is 1st person Mara. She thinks she’s not good enough for Mitch. She never tells him why. He’s with her all the time and doing things for her, but he doesn’t say that he wants to date her. He just expects her to know that. A sample of their conversation: she says “We have to talk.” He says “Babe.” She says “We have to talk.” He says “Babe.” Lots of repetitive talking like that. But there is a charm to it. The main conflict is she believes and keeps saying things like “we don’t belong together.”
Mara is good at her sales job partly because she is so good looking. She is not smart about kids, but in fairness she is new to being a parent. She wanted to keep Billy home from school just in case he might get sick. Mitch is the smart one in this relationship and makes most of the decisions. He’s also super hunky alpha police detective.
The first part of the book is 1st person Mara. It felt like New Adult since it’s so full of Mara’s angst. The last part was done in 3rd person. It had Mitch dealing with bad guys plus interaction with the Chaos Motorcycle club. I much prefer 3rd person.
A large part of the book is Mara providing a foster home for her cousin’s two children: Billy (boy) and Billie (girl). As an audiobook that choice of names was not good. I never knew which Billy was being talked about. Mitch and Mara take care of the kids and act like regular parents. Mitch and Mara don’t go on a date until about 2/3 the way in. If they have sex, it’s in the part I skipped. It seems that most of the relationship development is about being parents.
Kate Russell is fabulous. I will listen to almost anything she narrates, even though I felt her interpretation for Mitch was not the best. She had a concise loud way of talking for him. When the text had Mitch speaking quietly or mumbling the narrator still read him loud. She should have softened her voice for him at times.
Narrative mode: 1st person Mara beginning of book. 3rd person end of book.
Genre: contemporary romance.
I do not give a synopsis of the book, just my opinion on the listen. I am not a book critic, just one who loves to read!
Super Hot Read!
I loved Mitch. He is the male every woman would love to have in her life!
I think she does a great job. She is easy to listen to. Brings humor when necessary and does a good job overall with the characters.
I loved this entire story. I was hesitant to buy this one ... but am so very glad I did. I think this is my favorite story of the series.
Oh my Mitch Lawson... Another Kristen Ashley book that I HAD to listen to over & over. It was just that good! Det. Mitch Lawson is the perfect man. If only he weren't a fictional character FRACK IT!! I almost gave this audiobook 4 stars cause the chick in the story was soooo shy it was almost annoying BUT everything else was so awesome(?) wonderful(?) PERFECT that I was able to overlook that.
Worth the credit or the cash!!!
Billy girl! She's a cutie pie!
When Mitch tells Mara that he loves her!
I laughed and cried.
The narrator was awesome!
Kristen Ashley does it again. This story has real world issues with seemingly normal solutions. I liked that I could relate to both characters as they were written like they could've been your next door neighbors.
KA hit it out of the park with Mitch and Mara. After struggling through Brock and Tess' story, I did what I always do and read the reviews about the next book. I saw a common theme that Law Man was worth reading, and people were right.
Mitch is a very strong minded guy and knows what he wants. Now that he has a "in" he's not letting it go. It's a good thing that he has a one tracked mind because Mara isn't going to make it easy for him.
I listened to this book in about 2 days. I couldn't shut my Audible app down! Get ready for some major twists and turns, because this book will bring you for a ride!
Yes. When I'm between books and because it's one of my favorites.
Don't want to give anything away.
She is a talented narrator she makes the characters come to life.
This is the third book in the series. It's good but not as good as book one and two. This book is still full of suspense and drama.
Will do anything for books!
Okay honestly, what more could we ask for, Mitch Lawson, so sweet and giving and hot and alpha. He fights for what he wants sometimes tooth and nail. At first I felt irritated with Mara in this one, just go for it already, but we learn her backstory and understand. Great story, love getting to see the previous couples and meeting new people.
I am a busy sports mom listening to romance only. If the narrator is good and it has a decent plot, I will find it enjoyable.
Mitch, Mitch, and Mitch. I think I like him better than Hawk in Mystery Man. How can you not love a man that steps up to the plate like Mitch.
In this entire series, Elvira is still one of my favorite characters. She is just entertaining. I also love Billie. She seems adorable.
She has become one of my favorite narrators. She is truly amen actress and after experiencing a couple of "just ok" narrators, she is dynamic.
Yes. I have listened multiple times already.
