CEO of Knight, Inc., Lucien Knight is catch-your-breath gorgeous and damaged by his troubled past in Norway. All grown up and relocated to London, he's built his empire of adult clubs from the ground up to become the gorgeous patron saint of the sex industry. No one knows the dark childhood secrets that have given Lucien a backbone of steel and a heart encased in ice.
No one until Sophie Black, that is...From the moment girl-next-door Sophie accepts the job as Lucien Knight's PA, she understands how Alice must have felt when she tumbled down the rabbit hole. Lucien takes her safe, vanilla life away and plunges her head first into a huge dish of fantasy flavours.
Rich, spicy chocolate covered with dark, oozingly lickable sauce? Check. Tutti-frutti with indecently red, glistening cherries on the top? Yes please.Lucien strips away all of Sophie's inhibitions, and when he instructs her to select three new toys, she soon realizes he has more than a game of Monopoly on his mind . . .He's opened the door to a whole new pleasure-packed world without limits, and Sophie is utterly intoxicated. But how far is she willing to go? And what happens when she has to step back into reality again?
Lucien and Sophie's is a story of star-crossed love and forbidden passion, a sexual odyssey that spans the globe and changes both of their lives forever. Let it change yours, too.

The narrator is probably better suited to children's novels. She has a gravely almost grandma voice. It just put me right out of the mood to hear her talk sexy. The plot was worse, though. I stopped listening to it half way through it and I am not in the least tempted to pick it back up. It sounds like a divorced woman's wet dream the entire way through. A man bringing guilt free pleasure to an unhappy wife pretty much sums it up. He helps here explore her sexuality after a life with a bland cheating husband, the story was predictable, the character depth was attempted but not really there, and the sex parts rival penthouse.
More background on characters, there was no depth
Story didn't go anywhere, except I'll have an affair and that will show him, boring, too much sex but no romance and no depth. I like to fall in love with the characters before they jump into having affairs, and why?????
I'm one of the reviewers at the Guilty Indulgence Review Site. I am always reading - I don't go anywhere without an ebook or audiobook!
I found it difficult to connect with these characters which led to be not really caring for them or the outcome. I pushed through, seeking some redemptive qualities, but it just didn't do it for me.
Say something about yourself!
I can't believe this isn't sweeping around Audible as the best hottest new thing! There are three books in this series so far, the first 2 seem to be about the same people, Sophie and Lucien, and Audible has all 3! If you go to goodreads they have over 14 THOUSAND reviews and this book still has over 4 stars
Let me just say this book was AMAZINGLY good! We sometimes forget that erotica isn't suppose to be just about the actual acts...it's a state of mind, it is a seduction of the brain as much as the body and boy does this book deliver on every front!
Sophie Black is a bored wife...she has been married to her high school boyfriend for about 10 years and has barely anything to show for it. No kids, no pets, she hates her job and recently it's become increasingly more difficult not to notice that her husband is barely speaking to her, and not touching her at all. She decides she needs a change, so when she sees a job posting to be a personal assistant to the owner of Knight Industries, an adult toy and fantasy company, she decides to try for it. From the moment she met Lucien Knight she was swooning...but she is a married a woman so the swooning will have to be put on hold. Lucien is fascinated by the shy Mrs. Black who seems almost virginal...why would an innocent flower want to be around HIS industry day in and day out? She can't even say the word clitoris without blushing scarlet to her roots!
Things get SOOOO good from there and you just don't want to put the ear buds down. I am off to download book 2 because there was a bit of a cliff hanger and I am dying to know what the heck is about to happen!!!
*warning* This is a British writer, and narrator, and there is British slang used. I personally thought I would be turning this book off within 5 minutes because I thought I could never get over the accent and the narrator...but I have to say it grew on me big time and I got over it! But if you can't get over accents don't get this book. If you hate the idea of infidelity don't get this book. And if you think sex scenes should happen behind closed doors and barely written about...DON'T get this book! For all others...ENJOY!!!!
Good Books Don't Promote Violence
This story about Lucien & Sophie had potential to be extremely entertaining and occasionally humorous with 2 exceptions.
First, Lucien was mostly gentle and sexy except for the few incidents of sexual violence (hitting, bondage, domination). It made no sense that a normally good man would suddenly hurt Sophie, a woman he otherwise treated with warmth and consideration. The author tried to romanticize the physical abuse but hitting is always wrong.
Second, Lucien operated a chain of sex clubs in the UK, a business that exploits and degrades women (the men are never walking around mostly naked and being treated like pieces of meat). Lucien was still grieving the mother he lost to suicide at the age of 14, so he seemed inconsistent that he would have such a low opinion of her gender.
Sophie was sweet and appealing but had appallingly low self-esteem. She bounced from a cheating husband to a confirmed playboy who seemed more interested in sexual games than her personality. Sophie needed a backbone and the ability to set boundaries; she hopped on a private plane with a man she barely knew and had unprotected sex without a thought to her health. Where was her brain?
The narrator is the only problem I have with this audible. She narrates alright but it's slow, narrator and not the story. There where times I skipped over alot because it literally feltas though the story was dragging on slowly. Other than that I think the audible was just fine.
Audiobook narrator was a bad fit – elderly lady reading erotic sex?
If you liked Fifty Shades of Grey, then DO NOT READ THIS – IGNORE THIS REVIEW.
I’m not a good source for these books. I gave Fifty Shades 3 stars, and Knight is similar to Fifty. It’s not a good fit for me. I felt insecure and unsettled with both books.
Sophie is Bambi-like, shy, totally beautiful, probably in her late 20s. Her husband is on a ten-day trip with his mistress. Sophie does not know he has a mistress but she suspects. Sophie gets a new job working for Lucien as his personal assistant. Lucien owns sex clubs and sells sex toys. When doing a background check on Sophie, Lucien discovers her husband’s affair. So, Lucien feels free to seduce her.
I read the first half and lost interest. I skipped to the end. Most of the first half is Lucien sexually pleasuring Sophie. I kept thinking when is he going to get some? Finally he does. But I was not feeling good about it. It seemed the only reason he liked her was because she was sooo beautiful. It made me feel undesirable and insecure. I could not identify with her. I also kept thinking her beauty is no basis for a permanent relationship. He will tire of her down the road and go for another beauty. Hey, I’m fine with couples in other books having hook-ups and short-term sexual relationships. But for some reason I wasn’t feeling good here. Plus there’s the adultery thing – bringing guilt. She’s the type who needs permanence and principles.
This is mostly sex scenes: explicit, sex toys, self-pleasuring, back-door action, bondage, and spanking. (There may have been other things in the part I did not read.)
Cliffhanger: This book ends in the middle of the story. You need book #2 to finish.
At the end of the book Sophie’s husband Dan comes home from his trip and does not know that Sophie knows he has a mistress. That could have been a great scene – the conflict, the confrontation, he wanting to keep what he has. But the book ends, so you have to go to book #2 to see it. So I read the beginning of book #2 and was totally disappointed. That scene (of words between Sophie and Dan) was not shown. Instead Lucien tells Dan that Sophie knows about the mistress. Then Dan leaves home. There is no scene where Sophie yells at Dan, or asks why or how could he do that, or Dan groveling. We don’t even get Dan saying he’s leaving. It just jumps to a week later and we learn that Dan is living elsewhere. Maybe something happens later in book #2. I don’t know.
AUDIOBOOK NARRATOR - Claire Wexford.
I do not want to listen to a little old lady read erotic sex scenes for twenty-something Sophie. However, I think she is a good narrator for other books.
Narrative mode: 3rd person.
Genre: erotic contemporary romance.
Jeepers this was hot and I loved it.
I have another BBF to ad to my growing list.... Lucien Knight - Mr hot alpha male.
Sophie applies for a job as his PA at Knight Inc which is all about the Adult entertainment industry. Her husband has been cheating on her and she hasn't been happy for a while.
Lucien opens her eyes up to a whole new world in her role as his PA and it is very tempting for vanilla Sophie.
Will she succumb to her bosses charms and give in to her desires?
There is a little bit of a cliffhanger at the end of this book but the final instalment is available so you won't be left wanting.
This is a very sexy erotic story and I couldn't get enough of it
Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
Whew! What a steamy, sexy, erotic listen and I really liked the story but....the narrator sounded like the evil granny on SpongeBob Squarepants! If you can overlook this then you may enjoy. I haven't looked but I hope there is a different narrator for books 2 & 3 because I plan to continue on.
Will do anything for books!
In my never ending search for a new book, I landed on these. I read some reviews all in all they looked promising and with Audible's excellent return policy I figured, hey no harm! So I started with Knight & Play which honestly is a strange name. That said, the book was good. Narration was great, I've heard this narrator before with no complaints.
So...the story...this is a more realistic story than many, aside from the billionaire (or whatever) sex toy king. There are real problems and real feelings, at least on Susie's part. This book covers just a couple of weeks so we really don't get to far into the meat of the story. That said, there are lots of sexy scenes and we see Susie come out of her shell and really grow and change.
Lucien is definitely a dominant lover and a tortured soul but this book doesn't delve far into the BDSM world. He owns several sex clubs but even with that the events there are mild in comparison to what they could be.
I like this book, I like the characters, of course I hate Dan but we are supposed to :)
All that said, I could have used a little more depth of character. I don't feel like I know Lucien much at all and really just have a surface view of Susie. I am going on to the next now...more on that one.
