Kisses after Dark is a New York Times and USA Today best seller. She's avoided men all her life. Growing up with an abusive father, Katie Lawry learned a thing or two about men and has made a conscious choice to stay far away from them. Until the day of her brother Owen's wedding when she's rescued from nearly drowning by Shane McCarthy. With everyone who matters to Katie assuring her that Shane is one of the good guys, she feels safe to give in to the attraction that simmers between them. Katie has waited a long time to take a chance on love, but is Shane the right guy for her? He's ready to move on. More than two years after a painful divorce, Shane has a life on Gansett Island that makes sense to him. With his father, sister and beloved baby nephew living close by and a job that he enjoys, Shane is content if not entirely happy. One thing he knows for sure is he's tired of living in the past. Spending time with sweet, sensitive, sexy Katie Lawry makes him feel hopeful, and he might be ready to risk his heart again. Surrounded by the Gansett Island community, Shane and Katie take an important step forward together, but is their new relationship strong enough to withstand an unexpected challenge?

It's all about romance in my library! I have a wonderful husband, children and my grandchildren they are my rock.
I'm sorry, I love all of Marie Force stories, but they are getting too predictable. There isn't enough Drama. Especially when Shane's ex-wife came back or Big Mac's daughter came in place. It's needed something, I can't put my mind to it.
Yes, I enjoy Marie books.
I felt Holly rushed as she was reading the book to us. I love listening to her, but it seems like she wasn't into the characters.
Tell us about yourself!
This book is a great continuation of the series and a light listen with a feel good ending.
Easy, funny & another Gansett
Some repetition but I guess it's needed for the readers who don't read series in order.
Thank you again, Marie😀😀
I am 57 - I love the storylines of all the characters but especially the older generation - it is nice to read about love for my generation. Charlie and sarah are great - good next book about him getting his money and their life together
I have love all of the book's by Marie Force, but this one (Kisses After Dark) is my all time favorite. Marie Force is an amazing writer. You will laugh, cry, and smile, mostly smile through the whole book. That's why it's such a good book.
Tell us about yourself!
Katie and Shane's story is amazing! As if it wouldn't be... Great job to MARIE Force and the wonderful narrator of this book! Great job!
This was an exceptional story of romance, trust, pain and family. Many will say that love takes time. Marie Force has once again proved that this is a myth. I loved Shane and Katie's story, but what struck a chord was what Madsy and Mac went through. Their love and the support of family and friends proved stronger
I'm not sure how to describe someone who might like this book, but I can sat that if you like any of the biker series books like Reapers Property or the Beautiful Bastard series you probably will not like this book.
All of the beautiful people were paired up with their soul mates. SPOILER ALERT: As far as the storyline goes, the main characters get together after he saves her life on her brother's and his sister's wedding day. Then on their first date the main characters went to his family dinner. On their second date they had sex. On their third date they had dinner with her mom. Really?! They all live in this hotel, so when Shane has to pick Katie up for a date he just goes to her room on the third floor. Really?!
Nope. Monotone. Although she does do the kids' voices pretty well.
All the freaking happy couples. There isn't one "single" person on the island except for the two main characters. Oh wait, I'm wrong. There is a poor, single mom who works three jobs and has a major health concern. (Don't want to reveal the shocking news.)
Geez, I sound like a bitter woman when I re-read this review, but I'm really not. Yes, I'm cynical and rough around the edges, but the implausibility of this story is mind boggling. I know novels can be an escape, but if you're going to take a trip into fantasy land at least some of the characters should be more than just fake, waxy caucasians where everyone loves everyone else and every man is a good man except for the mean abusive bastard who gets jail time for beating his family and the women are nauseatingly perfect and have no personalities. As Grandma tells Katie, "Pops and I plan to live forever." I guess death doesn't exist on this island. Maybe there will be a vampire spin off series? Surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be any inbreeding. Maybe that will be in book #13? Damn, that will be fun. Shit, I cursed. Don't tell Uncle Big Mac or Katie's mom. They'll be very disappointed in me. Be sure to brush your teeth after listening. The sugar is coated thickly in this one.
If it had had a different narrator and did not have a story line that was so snappy and unrealistic yet in a very predictable way. I love this series but absolutely hated this book.
I'll read the next book in the series because I love the characters but this book really turned me off. I had a very hard time finishing it.
The narrator was too flat, too sappy, sounded like her tongue was paralyzed when she was speaking as a male and I couldn't tell who was talking.
Extreme disappointment. I started this book last year and couldn't get past chapter 7 because I hated the narrator's voice. Decided to finish it so that I could move on to the next in the series. The narrator was as awful as I remembered. The story line was awful. I should have just read the synopsis and returned the audio book.
