Extremely interesting and exciting

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was one of the best in the series and I listen to all the books featured on audio book by this writer. The narrator was excellent and voiced all the characters for instant recognition. The story moves at a very nice pace.

Thoroughly Engaging and Romantic

Great interaction between characters with an entertaining story. Simply well written romance. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

The story is better than the title..

It's not that deep, but it was light, entertaining and less cheesy than most chick lit. The male character was a little one-note, but the female lead was sarcastic and kind of funny.

I found the narrator a little irritating in the beginning, but got used to her and thought she relaxed as the story went on. Generally enjoyable!

Dude was insufferable

James is 38 and has the ego the size of a small country and can’t believe it when multiple times, his smile and attempts to make Taylor work for his attention and affection don’t work.

He really doesn’t have many redeeming qualities. I’d get it if he were new to fame, a young twenty something that was a teen heartthrob, but dude, you’re in dad bod age territory and are due to sport some white New Balances. It’s as if he forgot to mature, and I did not find it at all attractive.

Taylor deserves better.

Another easy listen

The start was a little slow but once the story picked up, it is super fun. The main characters have a lot of chemistry, the story is interesting enough, and enjoyable. I liked it and enjoyed the hook up scenes. Super fun. Perfect for unwinding after a LONG week. This is beach read worthy!

I love Julie James books. This is a funny , great book!!!! This book has Action and Romance in. The book has got a great story line.

Can't get Enough

I have listened to this book 6 times. I love it. The characters really speak to me and I love when we get to hear both sides and the inner monologue.

I have been looking for a book that shown women in a professional powerful light. This book gives all that and more. It still holds to the romance and drama that a movie would without having to be X-rated. Some of these book I felt like blushing but with this book I felt "I wish this was a movie".

Taylor is a professional lawyer who finds herself in a not so comment situation but then again anything can happen in Cali. And that is what you felt. Like this is something that could really happen only in California. The games that were played and how she was nothing like what Jason thought she would be, was what really good. Can't say enough good stuff and I am getting every book she writes.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK and AUTHOR!

Ok...nothing memorable IMHO

This book was just ok for me. My favorite chick lit novelists are Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Crusie, and Sophie Kinsella, all much better authors and more adept a writing funny contemporary romance novels. This is the authors’ first book, so she may grow into a better author and I may give her another shot down the road. The big problem I had with the book was it was too verbose. I love reading background tidbits about the characters, if it gives me a peek into their true self or helps me understand why they act a certain way. Much of the writing in this book was just frivolous filler. You knew who the characters were after the first couple of chapters, with an additional peek into their psyche scattered here and there; much of the in between was just blather that could have been taken out. I did like the characters and I was glad they got their HOA, but I will not remember them after a few weeks and I will never want to listen to this book again. The narrator did a decent job. I guess where this book is concerned I am ambivalent.

A good old fashioned rom-com book.

There was no need for graphic sex in this book. They didn't fall madly in love within a minute of meeting each other. It was a good old fashioned romance with a build up to it. The characters were likeable, and the story wasn't heavy handed. It was a fun and easy beach read!

My only complaint would be that sometimes the narrator seemed a little breathy.
