Publisher's summary

Captain Robbie Grant has always had a way with the lasses, but his warrior's heart is too married to the battlefield to seek out a wife. Then Robbie saves a mysterious beauty from a Norse attacker. He knows little about Caralyn Crauford beyond that she has a damaged past and two wee daughters, but he volunteers to bring her and the lasses to a priory where they will be safe from the oncoming battle. The last thing he expects is for Caralyn to give him a night of unrestrained passion and then disappear. But when she does, he is determined to find her.

After spending years under the thumb of men who cared only about her comeliness, Caralyn no longer knows who she is or why she matters. The only thing she cares about is the welfare of her daughters. But when Captain Robbie Grant enters her life, she dares to want something more. At first she's just grateful to the handsome Highlander, but his noble nature and kind heart endear her to him. The night they spend together only confuses her more, but Caralyn has no time to sort through her feelings because her past rears its ugly head and threatens to ruin her.

I Love the Clan Grant

The Scottish Highlands come alive in this series. The author knows how to write fascinating books about 13th century Scotland. The narrator has a sexy Scottish accent without over doing it. Audible books like these make my Escape membership more than well worth the cost.

Easy Listening

Light read, no angst, some drama, strong male character and family. Different twist for this book but my favorite book is book 1. Narration was good.

Wonderfully engaging story of love overcoming all

If you could sum up Journey to the Highlands in three words, what would they be?

action-packed; entertaining; satisfying

What was one of the most memorable moments of Journey to the Highlands?

Robbie coming to the rescue repeatedly were all memorable and unique.

Which scene was your favorite?

The night that Caralyn visited Robbie in the priory was my favorite. (1) and the scene where young Loki helps defend Caralyn from the sinister Malcolm when he attacks and attempts to kidnap Caralyn and Gracie and Ashlyn from the highlands cottage by the loch. (2)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Many touching moments within this wonderful book. Made me happy, made me sad, made me mad.... something for everyone.

Any additional comments?

I especially enjoyed the Antony Ferguson narration. Very well done.

Worth reading if you’re a fan

Not quite as good as book 3 (Love Letters…) The H was the usual handsome brave Grant Clan male. Part of what makes Robbie, the H, appealing is the steadfast and determined way he pursues his heart’s desire, Caralyn. She on the other hand is disappointing. She starts out strong and smart, having taught her children how to escape and hide in case of attack, then fighting off a Norse invader. But by the 90% point in the book, she is filled with self-doubt. Her self-esteem is so low that it becomes a point that the plot revolves around. Of course it all works out in the end - that’s what I love about the guaranteed HEAs of this genre.
In addition, the cameo appearances of Alex Grant, clan chief, and Loki, slingshot toting boy warrior, were not nearly engaging as they were in the previous book.
I would say that if you’re already a fan of Keira Montclair and the Grant clan, then definitely read this book. If it’s your first foray into this author or the series, hold off and start with another book instead.

knight in shining armor.

A battle against the Northman. Robbie saves Caralyn and her daughter's. A true love story as he helps her, and her two daughters heal from torn apart lives. Learning to be loved, give love, and love herself.
