Well it was short, but decent

Due to the under 3 hour time constraint of the book I get why it had to be an "insta-love" story, but I do wish they went into Ivan's past some more.

I'm on the fence on whether or not to get the second book, which is full length, because when I think of a Russian Protector and the Russian Mob I don't think of someone like Ivan...he owns a fighting gym and is 100% legit, got out of any illegal crap years ago and well I was just really hoping for a more traditional I'm in the Mob and your my woman type of story.

The story in itself wasn't a bad one...sister is dating fighter...can't find sister....go to where fighter works out and get the help of the owner in tracking them both down...insta-love happens....but then we really get into it that the sister is a junky, the fighter failed a drug test and got tossed out and the seedy underworld was well, pretty seedy...throw in a street gang and it got really far away from the book I was hoping to read about the russian mob. *shrug*

Narrator was decent...like I said I might try the second book...but just not sure yet.

Best narrator ever!

I'm not an audio fan. I only got into it because it was part of our reading challenge for the year. But oh my! Pinky rocks this! The perfect accents she does brings a whole new depth to the book. I have no doubt that her talent is what made me love this book. I immediately went and bought the others she has done. I really hope she starts doing more audio.

Here come the Russians !! Oh Yeah

With this it doesn't even matter if everything seems plausible or not.The plot was cool, the Russians hot, what more can you ask for in a curl up in a chair to read book. Oh yeah a good narration, well it had that too. Fun fun fun

Good story

I really enjoyed the storyline of this one, the mafia and sister dynamics. It was just the romance aspect between our main characters that I found I wasn't very interested in.

Better narrator needed!

There is nothing sexier than the Russian accent and the narrator just didn't have it. The story was ok but the narration just killed it for me, I think this would have been a promising series with a better narrator, I can't continue on with this series.

Sounded like a new author

The story was good, but it needed a little more polish. It seemed like a first attempt and i caught myself rolling my eyes at the inexperienced dialogue. i can see promise with this author. Narrative ok too.

Good but corny 🌽

I liked ivan but wish he was more of a bad**s., he was an alpha but not too tough, i guess i like my hero’s darker. The heroine was a little annoying and naieve but overall i liked her well enough. I like that the author let her be a “damsel in distress”, not all women have to be feminist or whatever:). I like a tough chic too but nice to see both

Her different accents were really authentic and brought so much life to the story for me.

I guess I should have known that this wouldn't work, it was so short that the story never had a chance to develop. It was so choppy, and abrupt, I had to stop and look to see if it was abridged. Ivan probably doesn't say more than a 1/2 a dozen words to Erin and yet he's in Love with her in a few hours. I don't have a problem with the love-at-first-sight thing, but at least make it believable. If you like the idea of this book--Russian mobsters with a heart of gold-- then try the Kresley Cole series-----WAY better.
