In this follow-up to Clipped Wings, the emotional love story continues between Hayden and Tenley; two young people who desperately want to love and be loved but are afraid to completely let go of their pasts.
In the wake of losing Tenley Page, tattooist Hayden Stryker's tumultuous past is haunting him. Plagued by nightmares about the murder of his parents, Hayden reaches out again to Tenley. Having run from the man she doesn't believe she deserves, Tenley finally lays her guilt to rest. Despite their intense physical attraction, Hayden and Tenley struggle to repair their fragile emotional connection. As Hayden gets closer to the truth, he must find a way to reconcile his guilt over his parents' death in order to keep the woman who finally cracked his armor, and found her way into his heart.

This picks up right where Clipped Wings Left off. I love Hayden and Tenley together. I love the depth to their relationship and their characters. I also enjoy the playful banter and the supporting characters. Their "family" was lovable and interesting. I would love to hear more about this couple but I have accept that the story is finished.
So happy that they kept the same narrators. Jason and Elizabeth have perfect voices for these characters and their delivery was fantastic.
Yes this book was amazing and pulled at all my heart strings and had me laughing crying and rejoicing
Tenley was my favorite she overcame so much and helped Hayden with his past
Am a book reader who have to many books and to little time to read them. I love humor, slow burn romance, and fast pace story.
That it just kept going from the end of the first book. This book forced more on Henley which I learned more about him. This book seemed to have more drama
why do I need a favorite, because I enjoyed them all except those who where straight up bastards. They know which ones.
Again loved them and hope they do more.
Yes please. This had more relationship struggle then the first. So I really wanted to know how this book ended.
highly recommend to read Between the Cracks before this book because you get some needed background story before starting this book.
They struggle to see the good in themselves and to believe that they can desever love. Both coming from tragic history and rising out of the ashes to a new life, full of support and strength.
Such a beautiful love story between Hayden and Tenley. Two people that had suffered tramatic losses and found solace within each other. though it was a wonderful conclusion to their love story, the story was dragged out throughout the book and then rushed at the end. Im well acquainted with the narrators' work, and as always they did a great job telling the story. For those of you who like epilogues, sorry this book does not have one.
The second book in the "clipped wings" series is the continuation of Hayden and Tenley ' s love story. This book covers every emotion possible in a story, from anger, pain, love, fear, anguish, hope, loss, sadness, elation, longing and last but not least, humour. Although Hayden gives off the bad boy, tatted "pretty bad ass" guy, he is a real softee and has a heart of gold. Hayden and Tenley have both experienced tragic events in their past which leads both of them to the other and in each other they find the comfort and strength to face their past to be able to move forward together. This is an incredible story of love and hope and not giving up when life seems so dark and all consuming. Through tragedy Hayden and Tenley find beauty.
I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars.
Retired evidently sounds better than disabled.. It's a knee thing. Bone on bone, baby. Not a good candidate for surgery (health issues)..
This duo will be revisited again and again. Wonderfully written story that moves along much faster than you want it to. I have purchased some clunker books, but these two are winners.
Tenley was perhaps my favorite, as she hss been through so much and has remained true to.herself, even though much of the time shepaints herself not worthy of happiness.
I really enjoy books that are portrayed by a male and female. It makes the listener feel as though they are experiencing each character as a whole. They worked well together, although the male reader often struggled with voive inflections.I
I did listen to the book in one sitting. Beginning as soon as I finished the first book.
As in many books these days the language is a bit street talk, and not pristine, nor are some of the choices they have made. Great story where two basket cases have come through hell and back, found each other, and you have to cheer them on.
I really enjoyed the first book so I purchased this one (couldn't wait for credits) and it was well worth the money. The book did have me on the edge of my seat the entire book just waiting for **spoiler alert** Trey to do something diabolical but nothing....I don't know if there will be a third book where he does attempt something or not, I was confused because he was so obsessed with Tensely and then to just let her go seemed a bit out of character. Other than that this was a fabulous read and I am sure I will read it again soon,
