From New York Times best-selling author Lisa Renee Jones, this second book in the sexy, suspenseful new The Secret Life of Amy Bensen series picks up Amy and Liam's story after the cliffhanger ending of Escaping Reality.
Overhearing her lover, Liam Stone, in an incriminating conversation, Amy Bensen flees, intending to disappear and start over with a new identity. But no matter how clever she is at covering her tracks, the billionaire's resources enable him to track her down. And if he could do that, so can the mysterious, murderous people she's been running from for six long years.
But Amy is done running now, determined to uncover why her family was killed and who is hunting her - and why. Liam vows he's there to protect her, but can she trust him? Every time she questions him, his explanations are so easy to believe - almost too easy, given the dark, edgy passion that burns between them.
If he's part of "them", he's a deadly danger to her. And if he's not, then she's a danger to him because he'll become a target along with her. Does love stand a chance?

I enjoyed the read, it was just really slow in parts and it jumped around quite a bit.
The book started out great, lots of suspense. Who to trust, who not to trust, why are things different this time... but I found myself annoyed with Amy more than once. It was almost like she had multiple personalities. One minute she's a scared teenager, then next she's so stubborn she doesn't care if it gets her killed, and later in the day she's a dumb blonde that has no clue what's going on. It was a bit much.
I really liked the plot, though it drug on and on at times. There was a whole cast of characters and you never knew who to trust and Amy just jumped from person to person with blind faith like a lost puppy. I was disappointed in the bad guy, I was hoping for something more interesting instead of the obvious. There were some characters that just fell out of the story, but perhaps they are explained in the next book... It just didn't feel like much of an ending.
The first book had me hooked. The characters are nicely developed as is the intrigue of the plot. This book, however, drags out to ad nauseum. Because of this I grow tired and frustrated with the heroine. I'm hoping, at this point, that Liam kicks her to the curb.
This is another great book by Lisa Renee Jones. I can't wait till the next book in the series comes out.
I feel like this story is moving too slow to get to the big mystery of what Amy's Dad and bro were involved in... That being said I'll prob get book 3.
As always this narrator was great
This is a series that is worth following through. The story line is awesome and the performance by Charlotte was amazing.. I truly am going to seek out more books performed by her she's that great...
I was not gifted this book but felt a review was necessary because it was that good...
Lisa always delivers!
If you are a fan and you liked previous books from her you will not be disappointed. While I was reading this book actually listening to this book, at the back of my mind, I was wishing I don't want this book to end but I still want to know what's going to happen next... so I listen to it really really fast and now I am left wanting for more.
I am looking forward to a next installment of the series I hope she will write it fast.
I don't want to get into the story details but there was a lot of suspense and it was intriguing. Not your regular romance novel. There is actually a story to back up the love which is developing along with the characters.
I so highly recommend purchasing this book you will not be disappointed and it will be money well spent.
Furthermore a note about that narrator, amazing!!!! She brings so much emotion during her narration and the characters are brought to life
