Publisher's summary

When reserved flight attendant Bianca gets one look at billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish, she loses all of her hard-won composure. For a girl who can easily juggle a tray of champagne flutes at 35,000 feet in three inch heels, she finds herself shockingly weak-kneed from their first encounter. The normally unruffled Bianca can't seem to look away from his electrifying turquoise gaze. They hold a challenge, and a promise, that she finds impossible to resist, and she is a girl who is used to saying no and meaning it.

Bianca is accustomed to dealing with supermodels and movie stars in her job as a first class flight attendant, but James Cavendish puts them all to shame in the looks department. If only it were just his looks that she found so irresistible about the intimidating man, Bianca could have ignored his attentions. But what tempts her like never before is the dominant pull he seems to have over her from the moment they meet, and the promise of pleasure, and pain, that she reads in his eyes.

Sexy but Judging

The overall story was well written. I love when books like this have real plot lines. It had backstory, drama, good sex, and great characters. However, and regrettably, those great characters did not include the main character.
Bianca, to put it nicely, is kind of a judgmental hypocrite. She is constantly talking crap about people who, let’s be honest, are normal human beings. One of her co workers enjoys dating and flirting so Bianca calls her a whore. All right then.. She tries to make people who have drinks out to be terrible people and considers ordering two cocktails heavy drinking. Besides tending to look down on everyone, she claims to hate all men and is disgusted by their advances, even if they are nothing but friendly, yet she hooks up with a guy she knew for a day. She also refers to women who sleep around as sluts sooo… herself? I’m not sure.

However, it was read beautifully and performance was great. The book was also great, aside from a few eye rolls at Bianca judging people for living their lives that have nothing to do with her.

All in all, well done.

Romance meets BDSM

Loved this book. It is not extremely different from other books but I really liked it. I was hooked from chapter one. Elizabeth Powers did a great job of narrating the characters. I love the relationship between Bianca and Stephan. The love and support makes you just smile. I also like the twists and turns with Bianca and James. The fact that James can be dark, mysterious and sex and you never know what he is going to be keeps you listening. My only criticism is that audible does not have the next two books so you either have to read them or hope audible gets them. I wish they would not do that. Either get the entire series or none of it. This seems to happen a lot. Otherwise I think this is a great listen. Like I said it is not wow, crazy new concept but a really solid romantic love story with some twists.

in flight

I don't like this narrator. So it makes it hard to listen to the book.

First Class all the way.

Wow. Writer RK Lilley and narrator Elizabeth Powers = First Class All the Way.

This is my first novel by this writer and I listened to In Flight on Audible. The narrator, Elizabeth Powers is elegance, class, exquisite. The story and the main characters James, Bianca and her best friend Stephan are strong, intelligent, likeable and well drawn. It’s a good writer that can make an alpha hero strong, possessive, and not creepy, but a powerful hottie brimming with emotion for his woman instead. Wowzers. And he’s kinky in a delicious way. Or maybe that’s just Elizabeth Powers’ voice that’s delicious. I could listen all day. In fact, I did. Bianca is a heroine I love because she is intelligent, compassionate and easy to sympathise with. If you want to read a novel with BDSM this is a good one, I feel. The writing was excellent and the sex scenes did not make me uncomfortable. Rather, they moved the story along and were integral to the plot, not gratuitous. The writer subtly weaves a tale of intrigue, danger and secrets into the plot and I was surprised several times although the signs had been embedded in the story all along. I think I have found a great writer.

This is not a stand-alone. I knew that going in. It’s a three part serial/trilogy plus a fourth novel from the hero’s point of view.

I can’t wait to listen to the second instalment in this serial. I highly recommend IN FLIGHT.

Serial

The story was interesting BUT it is a serial. It ends in a cliffhanger; apparently the author cannot wrap up a romantic suspense story in the space of a novel.

50 Shades meets Crossfire mashup

This story has already been told. Same song different instrument. But still tolerable but the narrator sounds like she needs to drink some water.

Meh....

I thought the first book was ok, but not amazing. I couldn't connect with the characters. I bought the second book only after reading the reviews that claimed this book was better than the first. I was sadly disappointed. There was a whole lot of nothing happening really. I won't be buying the next one.
