Publisher's summary

Ewan McCabe, the eldest, is a warrior determined to vanquish his enemy. Now, with the time ripe for battle, his men are ready and Ewan is poised to take back what is his-until a blue-eyed, raven-haired temptress is thrust upon him. Mairin may be the salvation of Ewan's clan, but for a man who dreams only of revenge, matters of the heart are strange territory to conquer. The illegitimate daughter of the king, Mairin possesses prized property that has made her a pawn-and wary of love. Her worst fears are realized when she is rescued from peril only to be forced into marriage by her charismatic and commanding savior, Ewan McCabe. But her attraction to her ruggedly powerful new husband makes her crave his surprisingly tender touch; her body comes alive under his sensual mastery. And as war draws near, Mairin's strength, spirit, and passion challenge Ewan to conquer his demons-and embrace a love that means more than revenge or land.

Steamy as only a Maya Banks can be!!!

I liked this story a lot. It has a lot of yummy Highlanders and strong women. This book is the first in a trilogy. Its about three brothers who's hearts were harden by loss. So we know what will happen they will find the women that will allow them to find love and what it really means. That is every romance. But what a true romance fan loves is how the characters get there. The author did a great job in telling the older brother's story. The narrator made it every entertaining.

It can be graphic so if that is not what you are into then don't read or listen to Maya Banks books. I think she is a good story teller with a lot spicy.

There are some fight scenes and highlander politics which I thought gave the book more depth.

I hope audible will record the other books. I would like to know what will happen next.

I hope you agree and enjoy:0)

Gotta love these Highlanders

I'm not a huge fan of the Highland Romance novel but Maya Banks is one of my favorite authors so I had to take a chance. This one did not disappoint. It's your typical dominate/overprotective male hero and the young naive woman with lots of steamy sex thrown in the mix.
If you enjoy these Highland Romance books then you will definitely enjoy this one too. My only complaint is the all too quick ending. All the action just ended rather abruptly. Otherwise this was an enjoyable listen.

4 stars all around

STOP READING THE REVIEWS

Don't bother reading any more reviews coz your wasting time that could be spent on actually listening to these books that have sexy Highlanders, enjoyable story-lines that are filled with great characters who enjoy lots of carnal gratification, they are fun and are so well written that you can just picture the scenes...... oh and did I say already about the sexy Highlanders?

Worth the credit? It's a 'must have' book.

10 Stars

This book is wonderful, 5 stars for the story and 5 stars for the narrator.. This book is a collage of Honor’s Splendor (ignoring the terrible performance by Anne Flosnik) and The Bride (excellent narrator BTW) by Julie Garwood; If you love those books……. you will not want to miss out of In Bed with a Highlander.

In Bed with a Highlander

Review:

"In Bed With a Highlander" by Maya Banks was a good historical fiction and interesting romance read. This was the beginning of a new highlander series by this author. Only Ms. Banks can write these kind of novels that simply keep us on the edge of our seats. All the characters were well presented and developed. For Mairin (heroine) and Ewan (Laird) ...hero... were just off the chart good. Let me not forget the two McCabe brothers(Alaric and Caelen) and (Ewan son)....Crispen.

The novel was very enjoyable with enough tension and humor that simply couldn't put the novel down until I had finished it. Only Ms. Banks can present such erotica...sex scenes that you just call romance that will keep your attention. Be prepared for a lots of action packed, steamy and even a suspenseful read. I was kept guessing just what was going to happen next. This is where I say you must pick up the well written novel and see what is in store for this highlander.

If you are looking for a good fantastic Scottish highlander romantic novel...you have come to the right place...for "In Bed With a Highlander" I would recommend this novel as a excellent read.

Bring on a Highlander

How I did not know this author wrote Highlander books is beyond me because I have been a fan of hers for a long time.

I loved the dynamic between Ewan and Mairin. It wasn’t always easy and that is exactly why they fit so well. They fight with each other on the things that matter and they agree on the things that matter. I loved this world, these characters, and the setting. It wasn’t too wordy or over the top, it was exactly what I needed coming out of a very long and dry book.

The narrator is fantastic! I couldn’t have asked for someone better she really brought this book to life. 100% will continue the series.

Adventure and Romance with excellent narration!

What a great start to a historical romance series! In Bed with a Highlander is a fast paced story that has the perfect blend of adventure and romance. Mairin is the illegitime child of the King. For her safety she has been hiding in a monastery for the past ten years until she is kidnapped by a mean horrible man who wants to marry her for her dowry and land right. She manages to escape and then is taken to safety where she meets Ewan McCabe, laird of the McCabe Clan. He offers to marry her in order to protect her.

I really enjoyed this story. The romance is as passionate and sizzling hot as you can come to expect from Maya Banks and at the same time its melt-your-heart sweet. The action and adventure is very interesting and keeps you guessing what will happen next. The next two books are the stories of the two brothers of Ewan McCabe and it definitely left me wanting to start the next book immediately.

Narration: This is the third book I've listened to that has been narrated by Kirsten Potter and by now I can say she is consistently perfect. I love her accent, her male voices are excellent and you can always tell apart each characters. She can also narrate a very good love scene and an intense action one too. I definitely recommend this narrator!

Wow! Great story!!!

Wow what a surprise! This book was great from the very start!! Captured my attention immediately! I often have to take a couple chapters getting acclimated to the book, but this one really just surprisingly grabbed me from the beginning.

The storyline was fun, and the interactions and connections The characters had with each other for a really enjoyable. I feel like most books are fairly predictable, the hero saves the heroine against the bad guy, bad guy tries to hurt/kidnapp/kill/or otherwise maim the heroine and the hero comes and saves her. Thats fine, and par for the course with these books, and obviously that was in this book. Just, definitely not in any way I could have predicted at all. I enjoyed being caught off guard and really actually found that I sat and procrastinated life just so I could finish the book!

The narrator did a good enough job, but wasn't superbly exceptional. She didn't have much variety in character voices, but it wasn't a huge deal. She did the Scottish accent well and to me that was the most important thing.

Overall this book was a pleasant surprise.
