Publisher's summary

The signs are everywhere... disastrous world events. Evil rising up, unleashed upon the innocent. The prophecies were there... but no one listened. Until now. The time has come for those who can either usher in Doomsday...or prevent it. They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Arik Wagner, a soldier with the U.S. Army's paranormal unit, the R-XR, kissed a girl and liked it. And then he went to hell as punishment. Where he's spent weeks being tortured... and plotting revenge.

Limos, Horsewoman of the Apocalypse, isn't your average girl. She's immortal, dangerous, and her fiancé is Satan himself. In a moment of weakness, she gave in to her desire and kissed Arik, triggering her fiancé's wrath - and his claim on her. In order to save Arik, and the world, Limos must make a dangerous pact with her recently turned evil brother, Pestilence. A deal that might just cost her her soul...and her heart.

Larissa Ione's Masterpiece! Exceptional!

This book deserves more than 5 stars. I have read all of Larissa Ione's books now, and this book sticks out as some of her finest work.
Immortal Rider is filled with excitement, passion, deception, fury, love, longing, regret... This book has it all. The battle between good and evil is more dangerous than ever, as the lines between the two are blurring! The world is falling into chaos and the possibility of the apocalypse hangs over the heads of all the characters we've grown to love from this series and from Demonica series...

Somehow Larissa Ione takes all of that and writes the most addictive, enjoyable book of the year!
This particular story follows the human Guardian Arik and the only female horseman of the apocalypse- Limos (part demon, part angel). Limos was promised at birth to the most powerful demon in the underworld... Guess Who? and Satan is a jealous fiance!! One night, Arik realizes a growing attraction to Limos and acts on it. He kisses her, and then gets the shock of a lifetime. He is taken away to be tortured for a month and then he is ordered to be killed by her fiance's minions, unless he finds a way out. Limos may be a beautiful warrior, but she is also real mess! Other than being bound by a marriage contract with Satan, Limos has some dirty secrets her evil bother Pestilence wants to spill. Secrets so bad that Limos could lose everyone she loves and all the good she has in her life. Meanwhile, there is serious trouble between the two angels who are the "Watchers" of the horsemen. And the most threatening development is a plan hatched by the Elder Guardians, headed by our one and only Charmed One: Kynan! After reading a false prophecy, the elders have devised a foolish plot to trap a horseman in a situation that could have devastating consequences.

Wait! Did I mention that this book oozes sensuality? That is one of Ione's specialties and she gets it right with this book.

I normally don't like books with too many subplots, but Ms. Ione got this one right. The balance is perfect. It's impossible to put down! I was up all night listening to this story!

If you haven't read this series, get started!!
I believe the series would be more enjoyable if you've read Demonica, as this is a spin-off of the Demonica series, taking place in the same world as Eidelon and Wraith... However, I think there's enough back info to just start the series with Eternal Rider. (But why miss out on Pleasure Unbound: Demonica 1? It's absolutely delicious; one of my favorite books!!)

The narration of this book is exceptional. Hillary Huber did an outstanding job.

Highly recommended!

VT. FAN

Where does Immortal Rider rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I WOULD RANK THIS IN THE TOP20. IN FACT THE ENTIRE DEMONICA SERIES AUDIOBOOKS WHICH IS THE PRELUDE TO THE LORDS OF DELIVERANCE SERIES ARE ALSO VERY WELL DONE.

Which character – as performed by Hillary Huber – was your favorite?

HILLARY HUBER DOES BOTH MALE AND FEMALE CHARACTERS VERY WELL SO LIMOS AND ARIK ARE THE FAVORITE.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

BOTH BUT THE BEST THING IS THAT WHEN ITS DONE YOU ACTUALLY MISS THE CHARACTERS.

Any additional comments?

THE DEMONICA AND LORDS OF DELIVERANCE SERIES ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY. AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Even better than the first!

I thought the first book in this series was fantastic and this is even better! This time I am more familiar with the many characters in the series and the complex world. The thing about this story is that it is unexpected and unpredictable. I found it difficult to press pause because I wanted to know how everything was going to turn out. The main couple limos a.k.a. Famine and Arik have wild chemistry and a chastity belt between them! And then the background story to the third book begins and it sound soooo interesting that I had to buy that title even before AI finished this one. Larissa Ione is so talented and she has a way of keeping you interested in the romance and in the whole intense dark storyline.

Narration: Hillary Huber again does an excellent job with this book. Great male voices and you can always tell each character apart. And she definitely added intensity, suspense and sexiness. 5 star plus Paranormal Romance!!!

Enjoyed the first one more; this one's still good

This book actually started at the end of the first one. Though the first part of this book recaps what happened during the last part of the previous book, I'd encourage you to read them in order. It'll give you a better idea about what's happening, why and who the characters are.

Regarding the actual story, it's good, but not as good as the previous. This one starts to go in depth on some of the side characters and organizations that are involved and it kind of all gets muddled. Or it did to me. I'd rather focus on the main characters and worry less about the machinations of separate entities that are only somewhat relevant. However, by the end of the book, I did see the tie in to all the side stuff and that will lead us into the 3rd book nicely.

For me, the taste of the 3rd book was the most enticing part of this book. But again, it's worth the read just not my favorite.

Fantastic

What made the experience of listening to Immortal Rider the most enjoyable?

Loved It! Felt like I've waited forever for this book. Well worth the wait! I can see were this could have mixed reviews, but It was a not stop action ride! I found it well paced and intriguing. The narrator does a good job and I'm pleased with how the story and characters played out. I don't recommend reading this second installment out of order and I am also very familiar with the Demonica series so I had NO issues with this book. Like I said I loved it and it's on my favorite list to re-listen too. Like a few others out there I want the third book NOW!

One of my favorite horseman! Awesome listen!

Would you consider the audio edition of Immortal Rider to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version, but I know this narrator did an amazing job, so I would say the audio was better.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Immortal Rider?

I think my most memorable moment is what Reaver does for Arik and Harvester.

What does Hillary Huber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hillary Huber brought out the sarcastic attitude of Limos.
