It's Christmas in Half-Moon Hollow and newly turned vampire Iris Scanlon-Calix wants to make Gigi's first visit home from college as normal and special as possible. It's taken months for Iris to work up the nerve to spend time around her baby sister after her vampire transition, so she enlists help from Jane Jameson and Company to keep her blood-thirst under control and assure Gigi's safety. Gigi, on the other hand, has problems of her own, including the demise of her relationship with high school sweetheart, Ben, and a looming job interview with Ophelia Lambert, the scariest potential employer in the Hollow. And then there's the small matter of the handsome, frustrating vampire who keeps appearing in Gigi's peripheral vision, then disappearing before she can talk to him. Can the Scanlon sisters negotiate romantic problems, vampire politics, and Christmas cookie disasters and enjoy a relatively normal holiday?

I can find a book to love in any genre -- a beautifully written classic, an interesting mystery or sci-fi, a trashy romance. Bring it!
Don't miss this free holiday gift from Molly Harper -- it's delightful. If you're already following the series, you will recognize many of the characters of Half Moon Hollow. If you're not, it's time you're introduced. This is not the usual romance story -- more like just a holiday gathering of the whole wacky group. It is told from Gigi's viewpoint and is full of the usual humor and snarky remarks between characters, plus there are some holiday recipes given at the end. Amanda Ronconi is awesome as usual.
Take advantage of this free download and add some fun to your Christmas season!
The Big Kahuna
The story was fresh and funny. Thanks for my first holiday gift. This was a great way to kickoff the season.
I like Fantasy & Science Fiction but not into Zombie. Due to Health issues, listen to Audiobooks/read ebooks where I can enlarge the print
A Halfmoon Hollow Christmas gift from the wonderfully quirky & snarky pen of Molly Harper.
If you haven't read any of Molly's work before then I suggest you give your self an early Christmas present and do so now, starting with Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs: Jane Jameson, Book 1.
I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas is a short story that manages to bring together all your Hollow favorites and covers Gigi's return home to the Hollow from college and to her married recently turned vampire older sister Iris (The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires Half-Moon Hollow, Book 1).
This books only issue is it finishes too soon . . .
Amanda Ronconi does her usual excellent narration, bringing all of Molly's wonderful quirky characters to life. I hope the pairing of this dynamic duo of author and narrator continues in future releases.
A feelgood Christmas tale that will brighten your day and bring a smile to your face
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Molly Harper always makes me laugh. Her books are fun and exciting. Most grateful for this we freebie sample Audible :)
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
This was a very enjoyable story. It's not a full story but more of a holiday short that lets us Molly Harper fans see our favorite characters for Christmas and get some of Gigi's story.
This story is told from the PoV of Gigi, Iris' (from The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires) younger sister who has been away at college. Iris turned vampire while Gigi was away (a planned turning) but has been very nervous of attacking her and so Gigi hasn't been home in months, finally getting to come home for the Christmas holidays.
The story basically entails Gigi and Iris reconnecting and finding themselves again as sisters now that many things have changed. Meanwhile, Gigi is interviewing for a job with the Vampire Counsel (which none of her family is happy about) and she has to handle her declining relationship with her high school sweetheart, Ben. Not to mention she believes she's being followed by a vampire that can disappear in to thin air...either that or she's going nuts. It gives an interesting glimpse in to Gigi's head and also we get to see all our Half-Moon Hollow favorites for the holiday.
The story does leave off with some unanswered questions about things coming up in Gigi's life that gives a good indication that she'll probably get her own book soon. This was a humorous holiday story, everything we'd expect from Molly Harper. Amanda Ronconi did a great job on the narration as usual. I'd recommend it but it's probably best for people that have some familiarity with Molly Harper's book set in Half-Moom Hollow. :D
Reviewing Romance & Urban Fantasy
Nothing like coming home from college to enjoy Christmas with your extend family full of vampires.
I hope we get more of GiGi and her mystery man.
Busy mom who loves to read but doesn't always have the time. I enjoy YA, Romance and the occasional Best Seller.
Thank you Audible for this perfect holiday gift! I loved this free listen. It only increased my desire to hear more from the Half Moon Hallow gang. I can't wait for the next book!
Amanda Ronconi is fantastic with voices and emotions. Molly Harper always makes me laugh out loud
There were many but when Gigi gets home and Iris is afraid to confront her.....and has all her pals there to make sure nothing happens....It's a real Halfmoon Hallow moment.
As usual She is fantastic in this series. I've heard her doing other series as well and she's a fantastic narrator.
I wouldn't bother, I love these audio books and they're better than going to a movie.
Can't wait for the next Halfmoon Hollow book to come out. Molly Harper you're just fantastic.
This was more of a 3.75 star, not quite a 4-star because of the very slight cliff-hanger.
this is Novella was both Gigi's story and a Christmas in the Half-Moon Hollows story. It's been 3 years since she went off to college. She is still dating Ben, although they've hit a rut, and she is coming home from the first time since Iris followed through on her promise to Cal. Both sisters are a little nervous, but it is obvious these sisters missed each other.
I loved this story. I love how Cal has really taken to his role as "man in the house" with gusto. Iris and Cal are still going strong, the whole gang, Orphelia, Jane etc make appearances in this Christmas edition.
Expect the same quirky narration by Amanda Roncini, expect the same kind of humorous story and expect the same kind of light-hearted, fluffy, yet entertaining story as the previous two stories.
Having listened to all the Half Moon Hollow, and Jane Jameson series; this little story gives a nice recap on all the couples that have gotten together, and has them gathering for a Christmas party. GiGi is the central character of the story, as she is graduating college looking to land a job with the vampire counsel, her love life has lost its spark, and she seems to have a secret admirer. It's a cute tale told only as Amanda Ronconi can tell it. My only complaint was the 'no ending' and loose ends galore. So, the nice little free gift turns out to be a prequel for the next Half Moon Hollow book. So enjoy, and expect to be left hanging off the cliff it builds.
"Life and Dead at Christmas"
A witty story with many humorous twist and intriguing turns.
I look forward to hearing more from Molly Harper.
vety good listen funny book the interaction between human and vampier strange sometimes but a great listen all the same
"Fab for a freebie"
I really enjoyed the care and feeding of stray vampires so it was a bit like meeting an old friend for a cuppa and catch-up.
It made me want to hear more about these guys. <3 Molly harper stories.
"Enjoyable short story"
Yes - shows the characters which, as a regular read, I have grown to love. One of the best things is it is free to purchase.
Liked the story and made me wonder what happens next
"Amazing and funny story"
Christmas-spirit, Love & Family
The parts were everything is falling apart - it's just amazing that so much can happen to a single person. Besides that is still funny to hear the story from the "human" side - and it keeps the line - that I've seen in the other books in the series.
She is so good at this, - accents and changing voice to the different persons in the book.. its so nice to listen to her.
YES! I've some serious attacks of laughing.. It was so funny at some places, and the strange stalker is interesting. I was totally hooked on this book..
I think it will be played again very soon :D
"Vampires as family !?!?!"
funny and entertaining.
Hell yeah, I want to know a) what happens about Colin's prediction and b) what happens with her non ghost Vampire stalker !!
Great easy listening, the narrators voice at times can grate on you but the story itself is very good!
"Pah - True fans only"
Yes ok I knew that this was going to be an easy, cheesy read. I've got others of the series, but this one is just a total con frankly.
The ENTIRE book deals with .... going off your boyfriend. There, I've said it. Not even worth a spoiler alert is it? There are some smiley moments of random undead issues with Christmas festivals and trying to be human when you're not. The rest of the book is large chunks of explaining the characters and how they fit in. If you already know them, this is pointless and it got annoying.
Amanda Ronconi's voice is however a joy and I could listen to her forever. I suppose if I was doing festive baking that only required half of my brain on, this might have been a good buy, but I wasn't and it isn't.
"A nice little tale to get you in the holiday mood"
This was the first book I had come across written by Molly Harper. I enjoyed the fact that a) it was free, b) festive (it's December for me at this moment) and c) the characters were built in a way you come relate to even though there were Vampires and Werewolves. There was a good amount of detail about the build up to having a normal American family Christmas.
I wasn't keen on the narrater to start with as she had an Amercian accent (I realise it was the right choice for an Amercian story.) In the end I was able to very easily ignore the accent and enjoy the characterisations and the different voices which were easy to tell apart.
The only annoying part was the repeating of the silent night, undead relatives part at the start of every chapter!
"a christmas cracker"
I love the way Amanda Ronconi narrates the story, so i can visualise it better in the audio version than i would of been able to in print
I loved the job interview gigi had with Ophelia lambert
the protective nature all the vampires have towards gigi is very touching and her friendship with jamie
I love all of molly harper harpers books and this one is a nice short i can listen to in the morning while i do my housework.
