Sophie Sullivan, a librarian in San Francisco, was five years old when she fell head over heels in love with Jake McCann. Twenty years later, she's convinced the notorious bad boy still sees her as the "nice" Sullivan twin. That is, when he bothers to look at her at all. But when they both get caught up in the magic of the first Sullivan wedding, she knows it's long past time to do whatever it takes to make him see her for who she truly is...the woman who will love him forever.
Jake has always been a magnet for women, especially since his Irish pubs made him extremely wealthy. But the only woman he really wants is the one he can never have. Not only is Sophie his best friend's off-limits younger sister...he can't risk letting her get close enough to discover his deeply hidden secret.
Only, when Sophie appears on his doorstep as Jake's every fantasy come to life - smart, beautiful, and shockingly sexy - he doesn't have a prayer of taking his eyes, or his hands, off her. And he can't stop craving more of her sweet smiles and sinful kisses. Because even though Jake knows loving Sophie isn't the right thing to do...how can he possibly resist?

I love books, it's my great escape.
I totally loved the story of Sophie Sullivan and Jake McCann. This is my 4th book by this author and I am glad to say it just keeps getting better and better. I have just fallen in love with this author. The male lead (Jake) is so human, just down to earth believable, sexy, and will have you fanning yourself. There is just something so sexy about a real man, and Bella Andre knows how to make you want more, more please. Don't let me forget Eva Kaminsky, she an excellent narrator. Audible please get the rest of this series. Totally awesome, everything I love in a romance (sexual tension, passion, and the happy ending). This was so worth my credit.
Great series; listen in order! Each book naturally flows into the next in the series.
Sophie and Jake have each loved each other since they were children, but never let anyone, especially the other see it. Each has very strong self esteem issues and don't believe themselves worthy of the other. (It is actually a little over done.)
Author is very talented and pulls on your emotions throughout the book. Narration is great.
Contemporary steamy romance. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre.
Yes, I would reccomend. good book, overall story line was very predictable, but good for a lazy day....
protrayed charachters great.
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books

I loved Sophie and Jake. Sophie (aka “Nice”) always behaves as she should. In a family full of “stand outs” , she just wants to blend into the background. She is tired of being obedient and decides to break out of her “Nice” shell at her big brother’s wedding. I actually laughed out loud at the reaction of her 6-older brothers to her new look. Her one night of bravery has lifelong consequences when she discovers she is pregnant. Sophie and Jake discover surprising truths about each other that only make their love stronger. This was a marvelous book! I laughed, I cried, it is now one of my favorites.
Yes I would. I would listen to the whole series again, it is awesome
I loved the story line about anorexia and how all the books led up to Annie getting better, and what happened to her afterwards!
I love the books, but I was quite surprised when they changed the reader on the next book. I really like the one in the first 4 books, so why switch??? The one in the 5th is fine, but I was ready to continue with the other.
I enjoy historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance. Also steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, suspense, and fiction. I'm open to about anything
Setting: San Fracisco, contemporary
Narration: Eva Kaminsky gives a creditable performance. I think she is improving as she gets to know all the characters better.
This is the fourth in The Sullivans series. As far as a series goes, this one has good connectivity, with the family showing up as secondary characters in all the books thus far, though some are more prominent than others. In this book, Sophie's twin sister Lori and her brother (Jake's best friend) Zach are the main secondary people.
Successful owner of a chain of pubs, Jake McCann is a strong, brooding kind of man. He has secrets no one except Zach knows, and a horrendous upbringing. Though close to the family, he keeps his distance from Sophie "Nice" Sullivan. The family includes a winery owner, a world-renowned photographer, a firefighter, an actor, a choreographer, a professional baseball player, and the owner of a chain of garages. Sophie is a librarian. She is the quiet one, the observer.
After her brother's wedding in Napa, Sophie goes to Jake's rental house and seduces him. He tries to resist, but she is everything he has ever wanted, the woman he loves, though he will not tell her. After the wild night of love-making, while she's sleeping, he slips away and returns to San Francisco. It seems, to Sophie, that it was "wham-bam, thank you ma'am" when he avoids her, and doesn't show up as usual for the monthly family gatherings. This is a story of unrequited love and fear. Jake is afraid that he isn't good enough for Sophie, and she's afraid he will never return her love.
I liked this novel because, even though it starts with Sophie and Jake loving one another, there is still a sense of time passing as they work out the issues in their relationship. Everything doesn't happen at once. While it isn't a tear-jerker, it still pulls at the heart. I think Ms Andre is getting better with this series as she continues bringing life to the family.
It is worth the credit, especially if you have read the first 3 in the series.
Tomorrow, on to Zach's story.
