Publisher's summary

A foolproof plan to avoid marriage:

1. Always carry at least three blades.

2. Ride circles around any man.

3. Never get caught in a handsome duke's arms.

Wild Highlander Mary Elizabeth Waters is living on borrowed time. She's managed to dodge the marriage banns up to now, but even Englishmen can be put off for only so long...and there's one in particular who has her in his sights.

Harold Percy, Duke of Northumberland, is enchanted by the beautiful hellion who outrides every man on his estate and dances Scottish reels while the ton looks on in horror. The more he sees Mary, the more he knows he has to have her, tradition and good sense be damned. But what's a powerful man to do when the Highland spitfire of his dreams has no desire to be tamed?

Contains mature themes.

Critic reviews

"Charming...Mary Elizabeth's effervescent personality and her lust for life are refreshing given her era's expectations of highborn women." ( Publishers Weekly)

A Fun, Sexy Romp with a Duke and a Scottish Lass

You know within the first 20 minutes how it's going to end, but it's about the journey, not the destination! Hot and steamy!

So Sweet

Mary Elizabeth's story is my favorite of the trio. While you know how it will end, hea. her way to it was such a sweet, and fun one. The H was strong, and hid his heart well until. well, her. We can't have our h be too tame. As "equals," a very foreign place for him, it allows him to be himself, and not have to hide behind his title.
Did I mention this was sweet? Well, it is. Adorable. no. With a bit of steamy moments, it can't be cute nor adorable. It does overlap with the second novel, which is cool. You see parts of the two stories from different perspectives, while focusing on Mary Elizabeth and Harry.
One negative...I would love to have had an epilogue, tying all three...or at least seeing how ME and H were later. She would be quite the different Duchess, children of the three? Wrap them all in a bow? OR, have a story about Ian, which could include bits of them in it.
