A Stone Creek Christmas

A horse in need is a matchmaker indeed! Stone Creek veterinarian Olivia O’Ballivan communicates easily with animals, but men are another story. Especially rugged architect-turned-rancher Tanner Quinn. Olivia’s uncanny bond with his daughter Sophie’s pony, Butterpie, has him questioning her sanity, while she wonders if he’s not just a drugstore cowboy.

Then 12-year-old Sophie conspires with Olivia to get Tanner into the spirit of Christmas with all the trimmings, including a treelighting ceremony and a man named Kris Kringle in a sleigh driven by seven reindeer… and a donkey. But will a holiday miracle transform the globe-trotting Tanner into a rancher - and family man - for all seasons?

At Home in Stone Creek

The only single woman in Stone Creek.... Everyone in Ashley O’Ballivan’s life is marrying and starting families - except her. But what date can compare to Jack McCall, the man who broke her heart years ago? And now he’s mysteriously back. But he isn’t who she thinks he is.

After a dangerous mission working for the DEA, security expert Jack McCall rents a room in Ashley’s bed-and-breakfast. For her sake, he must keep his distance. But his feelings for her are so powerful that only his heart remains off-limits. To protect her - from his enemies and himself - he has to leave, vowing to fight his way home to her and Stone Creek forever.

Wonderful book; I've enjoyed listening to it as much as reading it. It's a classic.

Cute!

Holiday in Stone Creek is a cute, stress-free and enjoyable novel. Having said that, it wasn't one of my favorites by Linda Lael Miller. I have read the seven books in the "Montana Creed" series, prior to this, and really became a fan of Linda during that experience. I have already purchased some of her other books and have high hopes to enjoy them as well.
Gayle Hendrix was just O.K. as the narrator of this audio. Her voices were not irritating, but I have definitely heard better.
If you are in the mood for a simple holiday romance, then by all means, this is credit worthy.

Just what I needed

I have recently had eye surgery and have been missing reading. I have been a fan of Linda Lael Miller for a very long time and this is one I had missed. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to catch up and a pleasurable way to help me heal! Thank you.

Sp worth the credit.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Absolutely. Good books take you into another place for a little while so you can forget about all your problems.

If you’ve listened to books by Linda Lael Miller before, how does this one compare?

This one is a little different. A little Dr. Doolittle "y" The story is still fun loving..

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Narrator was fine.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Sure, but then I'm a movie nut, too.

Any additional comments?

Unless, you're looking for a typical contemporary Linda book, you'll like it. It has all her charm and a little extra something.

Holiday in Stone Creek

Loved both books! The Narrator could have been a little quieter! I prefer women narraters! The Narrator makes an Audio version excellent! I prefer Joanna Parker! Both books we're exciting as of all Linda Lael Miller's Novels and books ara! Hope she considers to use more Women narratots! Then I and many will buy her novels! Need a lady that is able to speak softly! Plus sort of manly blue too! Her other women narrator's have preformed well! Thank you for 2 great stories!

Not too bad!

First story was pretty good. Really enjoyed the story of the vet and the rolling stone architect. Sophie and Ginger were two of my favorites. Olivia and Tanner didn't fight the attraction but decided to flow with it, which made for a nice change.

The second story was not my favorite. I found Ashley to be a sap. How many times can a person be left. Jake was a love em leave em guy and he did this to Ashley 3 TIMES!!!! Yet she still went after him. ::SIGH:: but she did get her man. I just hate to see women running after a man.

The narrator was not so good. I got used to her, but every time a new character was introduced I gritted my teeth. This narrator needs lots of practice. I wonder if they ever listen to themselves after they have recorded a few pages?

Makes me want to be apart of the O'Ballivan clan

What did you love best about Holiday in Stone Creek?

I loved the relationship between Olivia and Tanner & Ashley and Jack. I love it when the men come to their senses and realize how much they love their women.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rodney the reindeer in Olivia's story. I like the story of Santa's reindeer.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Ashley goes to Jack after he has the bone marrow transplant and even though Jack didn't want her to come to see him, he is very happy she did. And is even more happy that Ashley is pregnant.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Jack admits to Ashley that he loves her.

Any additional comments?

Another series that makes me feel good and wish it was a reality.

Too much fantasy

Way to much fantasy ruins what might have been a good story. Take the Santa Clause out of it and it would be worth reading.
