Enjoyable Anita Blake books as expected.

Another confrontation with the mother of all Darkness, a new golden tiger/ lover, adventures with Edward / Ted Forester, and being a female Federal Marshal.

got to love Edward and Anita

This is my favorite by far. The book from beginning was a non-stop ride. The only thing I didn't care for was it dragged with the crime scenes. They seemed to just go on and on. I like the fact that Anita seemed a little more human in this book. Kudos for that. It was in my opinion 100% Anita Blake from book 1.

Wonderfully action packed series; must read!!!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Hit List to be better than the print version?

Audio books are a little more thrilling but the series itself is great. The author is a great story tell herself.

What other book might you compare Hit List to and why?

The Anita Blake book that took place in Vegas. Same theme, although I think the other book was scarier.

What does Kimberly Alexis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Excellent story teller. The author is great story teller as well. To me it depends the individual and I love reading as much as hearing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some of her other books will make me cry or laugh. Actually all of her books can make you do a little of both. Anita's wit is sharp to the point. Laurell K Hamilton has a great way of mixing both.

Any additional comments?

Please ask the author to continue to write more books for this series.

Another "Hit" for Hamilton

Would you listen to Hit List again? Why?

I would probably listen to it again before the next title comes out just to refresh my memory of the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hit List?

I liked the tenderness of the Golden tiger when Anita woke up next to him after he was helping her heal.

Have you listened to any of Kimberly Alexis???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes - I like her inflection with the various characters.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed how the story focused on the current characters and did not include much interaction from her previous lovers.

can't wait to see what happens next

first, all the people complaining about the books if you don't like them stop listening to them don't kedp buying them and hate on them. i love that LKH brings in Edward and Olaf back for the book.they always make the story funnier and interesting. i do wish it was longer but it was still good, with action in it, even though we know who the killers are from the beginning. i can't wait to see what happens in the next book for the other characters.

Another Hit for Laurell Hamilton

I have always like the Ted character and Laurell has done the readers a favor by making him a main character. The team of Anita and Ted (Edward) has always been written as a small part in the previous books but teaming them up the fight the Harlequin and defeat the Queen of Darkness makes for some interesting in the near future. This book is exciting, suspenseful and edge of the seat thrilling from front to back.

An excellent addition to the Anita Blake Series

Kimberly does an excellent job again. I can tell each character without their name being spoken. I'm not quite sure about the music though, it takes away from the suspense I think. Mrs. Hamilton you are a talented and wonderful writer. This book does an excellent job of showing where Anita has been while tellimg the current story and paving many avenues for future books. I just can't wait. Is it June 2012 yet?

Showdown vs Mother of Darkness

Anita and Edward, aka Ted Forrester, are in Seattle on the trail of a series of weretiger deaths across the country. They have to overcome prejudice from the other Marshalls; deskbound politicians directing field operations; a jealous Otto; harlequin vampires and their animals to call; and the Mother of Darkness stalking Anita.

Synchronized decapitation, one of the funniest and most macabre scenes in the series, is in this book.
I consider this book to be the end of another series arc that started with Narcissus in Chains; and covers Anita’s acceptance of her part in the Triumvirate, and learning to accept her powers as they manifest. The first series arc covered Guilty Pleasures through Obsidian Butterfly and had Anita hiding from or avoiding the Triumvirate and her power.
I do love Hamilton’s amazing creativity in writing these books.
Alexis does a really good job of narration. Her voice, along with superior production, really elevate the final conflict.
