Publisher's summary

First published as a six-part ebook serial novel, Opal Carew's His to Command is now available for the first time ever as a complete audiobook.

Her heart, her body, her soul - are his to command.

Kate is a modern businesswoman who knows exactly how to run her well-organized world. But underneath her professional exterior lurks a secret that she’s been running from for years - a fierce desire to be dominated that both exhilarates and terrifies her.

And there’s only one man who’s ever tempted her to lose control.

Powerful executive Matt Pearce gave Kate her first taste of what it means to surrender completely at the hands of a dominant man, and she's never been able to forget. Though she’s spent years trying to outrun her feelings for him, a chance encounter changes everything...and this time she might not be able to escape. Deciding to give in to her deepest desires, Kate agrees to spend a week at Matt’s mansion exploring her submissive side under his masterful instruction. Just when she starts to fall deeper and harder for him than ever before, a terrible secret from his past threatens to tear them apart, and Kate must decide whether to finally trust Matt with her heart...or leave him behind forever.

Smokin' Sexy

Ok, I'm sitting here enjoying this book with a secretive smile on my face and then my adult daughter walks by, looks at me and says, "Oh, it's one of those books isn't it?".Yes it's one of those books. One that makes my heart race and brings that little grin to my face because I love this kind of listen. It's my favorite kind of listen.

From Kate running from Matt in the mall, the evil woman trying to break the lovers apart, and to the BDSM sex. It was ALL good. So after all this you know I'm going to say YES it's worth your credit. Another plus it's just one book!!! I don't have to worry about waiting for another book or two to finish up the story.

His To Command - Good Book

Kate and Matt had a wonderful and more than satisfying relationship that Kate thought might be forever. Kate and Matt always took the relationship to the edge of propriety and never doubted they both enjoyed what went on. What Kate did not foresee was one night that turned from pleasure into unwanted pain that had her running.

When Kate and Matt cross paths, again, the heat is still there but so is the pain that Matt's poor decision created. What has Matt confused is the pain he sees in Kate's eyes every time he tries to approach her, what had he done? When personal desires could not bring them together Matt uses professional to draw Kate back into his life and his bed. Can they sort through the issues, continue the over the top moments of bliss they shared, and is there a future for them if Kate refuses to allow Matt to dominate at least some part of the relationship.

Opal Carew writes the most exquisite works of erotic romance that push the respectability envelope right off the table.

Excellent narrator - awful book.

'Dumberina and the Dom'. Honestly!, if I hadn't been cleaning my oven I wouldn't have let it run on, but I have a policy of not claiming a refund if I have listened to more than 5 minutes of a book and I was too busy to take my rubber gloves off. The 'author' has cannibalised extensively from other writers to compile a melange of erotica loosely tied together by a ludicrous plot with an even more ridiculous ending. The narrator did a valiant job of trying to breathe life into turgid prose.

His to Command

What would have made His to Command better?

The story itself was decent; however, Kate was so wishy-washy and immature it was seriously annoying. Nothing could ever make her not love Matt - except two seconds later when he told her his big secret and boom, she's out the door. Where's the conviction? She trusts him completely - but the minute another female, one who has completely lied to her before, tells her a tale - she's all about "did he do that or not?" Where's the trust? Where's the love?

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

More of the same .. alot of fluff, no real substance.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I seriously don't like this narrator. I've listened to her with a couple of other books. The whiny sllimy voice is seriously annoying. I won't download another book with her as narrator.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The premise of the book, the bones, were good, which is why I purchased it to begin with. More depth to the characters, less fluff and nonsense, it would have been a good story.

Cute..but not BDSM if that is what your look for

This is not BDSM if that is what your looking for.. I think it is supposed to be... Well yes, it is supposed to be... but it totally wasn't for me. The female was just tooooooo sub... and the male was just not dom enough. Cute story though. I would recommend. I was just not call it BDSM.

Narration was not bad.

Credit. not a buy

Oh the images that pop into my head!

What made the experience of listening to His to Command the most enjoyable?

There was plenty of hot, steamy sex, and sex and more sex!

What other book might you compare His to Command to and why?

It had some Fifty, some BB and some pretty hard core BDSM....

Which character – as performed by Clarissa Knightly – was your favorite?

I have said it before this woman can read a sex scene....Her female voice was better than her male voice but she did a great job.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

X-Rated!

Any additional comments?

There was a lot of explicit sex but the narrator does such a good job it doesn't sound crude or slimey. Kate and Matt were in love and enjoyed this type of sex, it was not forced or belittlement in any way. I enjoyed the listen.....

A loving light Dom and Sub adventure

Any additional comments?

A nice Hot and Sexy listen. There is loads of hot sex but this book is not a heavy Dom and sub story. Matt is a wonderful Dominant and a caring man while Kate struggles to accept her submissive desires. If your not into books full of great sex then this book isn't for you. I enjoyed the story and Clarissa Knightly done a wonderful job with narration.

Not what I thought it was

I admit I'm going through a phase right now. I want to read/listen to books about corporate alpha males and the reluctant heroin...that isn't this book. The erotic scenes were okay, but to he honest they lacked some intensity for supposedly being a Dom/Sub thing, even 50 shades was more dramatic. This book also lacked intensity where the plot was concerned and even the big reveal that was eluded to multiple times was just a let down. I compare it to my friend saying she cheated on her diet and giving this big hype and then she reveals she had a life saver...when I'm thinking she had a five course meal!

This is a story about a Dom/sub relationship that went wrong and two years later they see each other...she runs, he chases. In true alpha make style he manipulates the circumstances so she has to talk to him...for various reasons they hash out their misunderstandings and he offers to train her to accept her submissive side, and the story progresses from there complete with predictable things and a villain that had some real potential but they author never took it anywhere, very sad.

Overall this book was okay if you just want to hear about people screwing. I would not recommend this book for anyone who liked 50, or bared to you, or release me, beautiful disaster, or basically any intense book, there is NO intensity in this book....and some people are looking for that too, so if you are then here you go, if not move on!

Same old story. Couldn't finish it.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Original story line.

Would you ever listen to anything by Opal Carew again?

Depends on the book.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Not bad. Just so so.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Absolutely nothing. I literally checked my two audiobook accounts to be sure I hadn't already listened to it.
