This book is SO MUCH better than the first in the series (which wasn't bad, just felt like another Highland romance).

The characters have dimension, the plot has depth and there is a complexity & feeling that kept my attention. Riveting...

Kirsten Potter's accent is spot on as far as this Yankee can tell.

I loved it

I loved the story, the descriptions of their surroundings, was easy to visualize their world. can't wait for th he next book in the series.

I very good story with many hard choices and truths...really not as sizzling as others in the genre but well satisfied with a good story. Ready for the next book - till then will be re-listening to this one - wait I already have guess I'll listen for a third TIME ;)

Another great book!

I love a book that gets me so into the storyline so much that I laugh and cry. I found myself crying several times throughout the story but it wasn't a depressing story at all. I was a little hesitant because another reviewer commented negatively about Maya Banks' heroines of this particular series being damaged in one way or another and that reviewer found the storyline of this book unbelievable because of the physical and emotional trauma the heroine went through being held prisoner and raped. I had that review in mind as I listened to this book and I disagreed with that reviewer, and found the story very interesting and enjoyable and completely plausable.

Another great highlander romance!

Bowen Montgomery finds true love in the arms of Genevieve McInnes. Genevieve is the ultimate survivor and Bowen her ultimate hero and champion. A torturous experience which ends with a "love conquers all" experience. Although there were times that my stomach hurt in hearing about Genevieve's victimization at the hands of that animal Ian McHugh, the healing power of love is what makes this story very moving. I love the ending...Genevieve is not only vindicated, but empowered with her man at her side. Great read/listen!

Narrator: Kirsten Potter is great! She does a wonderful job of creating unique voices for all of the characters. She made the listening experience very enjoyable.
