Publisher's Summary

What would you risk to find love?

Mackenzie Cooper has had it with romance. On her way home from another blind date, arranged by her well-meaning sister, she is caught in a snowstorm. While maneuvering the twists and turns of the icy road, Mackenzie loses control of her car and crashes into the rocky hillside.

When a rugged Scotsman pulls her to safety, Mackenzie is sure she must be hallucinating. Through the storm's fury, he takes her to shelter in one of the mysterious stone chambers scattered throughout Putnam County, New York. Snowbound, Mackenzie must wait out the storm with this strange, kilted man who claims to be a Highlander from 18th century Scotland. By morning she not only believes Ciarán MacRae's story but has also lost her heart just in time for him to kiss her, promise his love...and then vanish.

Unable to forget him, Mackenzie returns again and again to the stone chamber, hoping to unlock the secret of Ciarán's disappearance. But if she does, she will have to decide whether her fierce feelings for Ciarán are worth abandoning all that she knows to travel through time to find her gallant Scotsman.

    "what did you say?"

I almost really enjoyed this book. However I truly hate having to rewind to see what I missed only to discover I hadn't missed anything but rather a jump from point A to point D had occurred with NO explanation of how it could even sort of be possible. GRRR... A lot of this story was very rushed as if skimming the story because it could not be allowed to go over a specific number of words. In the process however a LOT of potential was skipped, parts of the story totally misplaced and a sense that it was a tale being retold by someone who didn't remember it all... Which was such a shame as the opportunity was there to create something very special. The basic tale was good even if full of holes. The characters were strong on personality and individuality but not totally opaque. The drama and emotions and theatricality of it was not reached. Honestly, it was as if someone had a FABULOUS idea but was too lazy to tell it.

NARRATOR: There is a very distinct possibility that the narrator was the one saving grace with this audible book. With such a remarkable talent as Jeff Leslie telling the tale it was enjoyable just to "listen".

CREDITWORTHY? Not really. Unremarkably passable... but not worth my last credit!

HEAT FACTOR: There was intimacy but with no Sexual tension. So no, no heat at all but perhaps a warm breeze.

    "Terrible. ......"

ive read a c lot of c scottish romances and i hadcto force myself to listen to all of it. The phrasing, the way it was written was very plain. But the worst thing was the narration........ ontop of an ordinary book he destroyed it. The woman's vouce sounded like it was a joke. No i couldn't say i would recommend this to anyone!

    "I'm sworry... drove me insane"

I had a hard time with the narrator saying sorry like a toddler im a whining tone. There was a few times I thought of turning it off but I wanted to get it over with as the OCD makes me do things that I really don't wish to......such as finishing things I'd rather not like this book! It was not the worst book I've choked down. Even if I read the book and not listened, I don't think I would read this one again. the end left me speechless in a bad way.

    "Narration lacks, ."

The story was enjoyable but if you are looking for great narration like you get with Divinity Porter or Phil Gigantic and Natalie Ross forget it. The story takes on an attempt to be like an Outlander novel but without all the character depth. I wouldn't run out and add this to my hardcover library but it's and ok listen.

    "ok"

I enjoyed the story and the narrator did a ok job. He could have put a little more into it. I did not like his female voice. why oh why can't they have females reading the female parts and the males reading the male parts.
