Love, love, love this hot romance!!!

I loved loved loved Her Husband's Harlot! Both the story and the performance were first-rate. This is a different kind of Regency romance (definitely erotic and not for those wanting a sweet Regency), with characters that had me rooting for their happy ending all the way through.

There was so much I loved about the story (the steamy scenes and sexual tension between the hero and heroine, the humor, the heart-warming moments). There were lots of really funny scenes with dialogue that just sparkled. The narrator did a terrific job of doing all the voices, female and male, and the accent was spot on. I hope there is a sequel!

Great Historical Romance

Her Husband's Harlot an enjoyable listen. This was a romance with a bit of a mystery intertwined; there was also humorous moments. Plus the love scenes where HOT.

The main characters Helena and Nicholas where well developed. The heroin Helena had some insecurity but instead of fretting over them she came up with ways (Which where enjoyable to read) to overcome in some cases just jumped in without over thinking. Nicholas was not the usual alpha male with too much ego nor was he the usual brooding silent type. He was also dealing with his own securities and secrets. His relationship with his wife forced him to trust. The interaction between the characters was fun to read. The secondary characters where an added bonus to Her Husband's Harlot. Hopefully the next book in the series "Her Wanton Wager" will be available on Audible soon.

This had redeeming qualities but was a bit much

What did you like best about Her Husband's Harlot? What did you like least?

Some of the sex scenes especially in the beginning were almost pornographic and I actually stopped reading for a while but had to see what happened. I felt like a lot of sex was written in simply for the sake of sex and without a real point and it turned me off. Finally we got to the real story and I think the relationship that eventually developed between the characters was touching, I just wish there was more story and romance and less gratuitous sex. I don't mind steamy love scenes but it was just too much.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I thought this narrator was excellent and performed the accents well.

Did Her Husband's Harlot inspire you to do anything?

Seduce my husband ;)

BE CAREFUL -- It's hard to stop listening!

If you are listening when working or driving, make sure you have plenty of time to hear BIG dollops of this one. There is an excellent chance you'll have a very hard time putting it aside to do other things in your life. The narrator, Erin Mallon, did an excellent job with a difficult character in the naive young wife who has unwittingly turned her husband away from their marriage bed. She works to woo him back and does so, but the path is twisted and dark. He is a grand character, too, full of personal doubt and misgivings, but with a sense of honor that is truly his own. A wonderful story, well enacted. Looking for more!

Still un decided did not complete

It may be just me but I could not get into this book started off erotic per say but the story of a woman willing to do whatever it takes to attract and please her husband did not do it for me I fast forward most of it trying to located a better starting point. Narrator was excellent enjoy her voices for the men and women. May try it again from start in a few months. Just my thoughts at least listen to the preview if you have that option

This book is NOT a Rated G book.

This book was good. The characters were very likable and i enjoyed them. The story was good, and so was the concept. The book consisted of 80% hot hot hot steamy sex, many sex scenes throughout the entire book. I think the book would have been better with little more story. If you are looking to read a very sexual book this one is for you for sure... I am no prude at all and pretty much only read books with sex in them, however this one went a bit far and I found myself skimming though to get to the story line. Which as I said above was good along with all the characters.
The narrator did a decent job, I would have liked her male characters voice to be less feminine but all in all she did a good job. Credit worthy? Yes it was.

A Stand Out Romance

Her Husband’s Harlot is a detailed, romantic, excited ride into Regency London. From the first chapter I was captivated with the story and the characters. I enjoyed reading about the relationship between Helena and Nicholas. The turmoil they faced and ultimately their HEA. It wasn’t a forced ending; they gradually progress to this journeys end. Also, I enjoyed being there with Helena as she discovered her sexual awareness with herself and her husband. Very Sensual!!!! It was a good read. So much so, I didn’t notice the length of the book and wanted it to continue.

Erin’s narration with the book was decent. I enjoyed her accent with each character. My only objection is that sometimes it was hard to distinguish between the male and female characters.

Worth a credit, Yes.

A fun read

This was basically a fun read although the heroine was not really believable. She was brave enough to act but a coward to speak. That hurt the story.

Incorrect pronunciations abound

Readers who mispronounce commonly used words from the Romance genre should either be better edited or fired! The weird Mid-Atlantic accent doesn’t help. I could have enjoyed this somewhat silly & unbelievable story if it had a good reader. As it was, I just couldn’t finish it when there are so many better books out there.

Not for the faint of heart!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes.

What other book might you compare Her Husband's Harlot to and why?

None really its a book with its own unique style. Not typical of other regency romance

Have you listened to any of Erin Mallon’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I'm a huge Erin Mallon fan and this narrator is not her, that been said whomever this narrator is she did a great job i enjoy the many voices she used to bring the characters to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to it in 1 sitting. Now I'm going to get some much needed rest and move on to the next in the series.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed every minute of this book. Loved how Helena didn't give up on her husband. How she discovered her sexual awareness and how she seduce Nicholas. It didn't happened overnight it was a gradual growth overtime and made the story more believable. Nicholas had such a dark and twisted past one cannot fault him for his insecurities. I've read some reviews saying the sex scenes was more like porn and also that the book had a lot of sex scene. This I don't agree with those sex scenes is actually regular sex people have daily and it did not take away from the story. If you can't handle a story like this as an adult then I guess you don't read modern or erotic novels with alpha males and bdsm since thats all most writers seems to write these days. I enjoyed this book immensely and I will be reading it again after I finish seducing my husband.
