Cade Winters has been running from his overbearing father for 15 years. Even he admits his method of escape was extreme, though. But joining the military, eventually being recruited into the elite Delta Force and then by a black ops firm kept him busy at the far ends of the earth, which was almost far enough away from his family and the woman he tried to love but who seemed hell bent on working for her brother's security firm, even if it meant getting herself killed.
Suddenly, it seems like all the women in his life have a death wish though, when his sister Veronica, a Texas judge, decides to support a non-profit group that promotes re-training trafficked women before they are deported. Taking on that hot-button issue has gotten her in hot water with a homegrown terrorist group who is threatening her life. Even though he vowed never to go back to Texas, Cade has to help his sister, the only one in his family who cares about him.
When he finds Cee Cee Logan manning the front desk at Deep Six Security, he's relieved to see that she's very much still alive, but he's also disgusted because he feels that way too for the first time in years just by seeing her. Cade sets his mind to avoiding her at all costs but when she becomes the only one who can help him save his sister he has a tough decision to make. Does he put her in danger himself to save his sister and take the chance of losing them both permanently? Or does he do what he did 10 years prior - try to keep her safe, but lose her again anyway?

Lover of Books!
Cade was an unlovable asshole and needed to get hit up side his head a few times. Cecilia was so passive and so up and down, it made my head spin. She had served several years in the Army but let her brother, Logan and Cade jerk her around and treat her anyway. I don't like wishy washy and weak woman. I also couldn't connect with the couple. Their chemistry was non existent. I only kept reading to see how the mission would end and that did hold my attention. This story didn't work for me but it may work for you!
* I received an audio copy in exchange for honest review*
I'm so glad that I ignored some comments in some reviews and took a chance on this author. I really enjoy the way she tells a story and like the characters, flaws and all. I'm a new fan and will be checking out other books by this author and hope there will be more Deep Six stories to come.
Great book! It ended too soon because there isn't a fourth book to keep reading. each book is complete in itself, but you really get invested in all the characters lives and I want to know more.
I think Cade is my favorite so far. He is so sexy! He's rough and tough and hard with killer instincts, but when it counts, he's gentle and tender and caring. He is so sexy.
CeeCee is not my favorite female, but she has a big heart. She's just a little too hung up on proving herself and hanging on to hurt. But did I tell you Cade us sexy? ;). He is Hot and Sexy and Cade and CeeCee make an explosive team. Don't miss this book!
Yes I would because Becky McGraw's books are really funny!
The strong alpha men, headstrong women, romance and the comedy with an actual plot!
Matt Haynes did a great job of narrating the story! I usually prefer to read the book myself but I really enjoyed listening to his voice.
I look forward to reading and listening to more books by Becky McGraw and Matt Haynes.
I've fallen in love with each and every one of the alpha males from Deep 6. Cade is the alpha man we all want! He is very protective but yet has a heart of gold. Cecelia who worms her way in you heart extremely fast is an amazing women strong stubborn and so much of a brat you can't help but love her.
I loved every second of this plot in the book. Well told and great excitement to keep you wanting more. Looking forward to more from Becky!
5 Crazy Ass Must Read/Listen Stars!!!!!
I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I loved the narrator. He made it so enjoyable. His voice made it easy to get lost in the story.
I have been waiting for Cade's story and was not disappointed at all. I wasn't to thrilled with Cee Cee's character in the beginning. That changed about half way through though.
My heart broke for Cade when he had to make such a gut wrenching decision.
I look forward to reading more from the Deep Six Crew!
Great Books Don't Promote Violence
CIA agent Cade, like Logan and Slade from previous books, seemed hell bent on controlling rather than appreciating the women in their lives. Logan's sister Cee Cee had the incredibly bad luck to have both an overbearing brother and condescending old boyfriend (Cade).
I couldn't understand why Cee Cee wanted to work for the obnoxious Logan who seemed incapable of respecting professional women, including his new wife. (I was curious if Logan was still hitting pregnant Susan and or he would refrain until she gave birth.)
While I wanted to connect with Cee Cee, she seriously needed to grow a backbone and stop letting other people dismiss her intelligence and feelings. Cade treated Cee Cee like she was still a silly teenager, not an experienced solder. It wasn't surprising when Cade lashed out and beat Cee Cee when she disobeyed a command.
I loved Cade's sister, who volunteered her legal services to an abused women's shelter and started getting death threats. Cade and the Deep Six team were drafted to protect the shelter staff and residents, which was ironic considering some of these men routinely practiced domestic abuse.
Since the writing was excellent and the plot intriguing, this novel would have been entertaining if the men of Deep Six were actual heroes, not alpha jerks hell bent on control. I found it totally unrealistic that these guys would risk danger to protect a gender they did not admire or value.
