Love ferociously. Fight for your woman.
My name is Hunter, and when it comes to my woman, I don't play around. I feel her. I protect her. I love her ferociously.
Some people say I go too far. They think I deserve to be locked up. I'm not a reasonable man. I've got more blood on my hands than you've ever seen. And I'll tell you right now, I would kill for my woman. Isn't that what it means to truly love someone?
Am I an animal? Sure.
But Kelly changed me. She tapped into something deep inside me. I live for her now. She's the one I protect. She's the one I kill for. Most men don't know what it means to be willing to die for their woman. I'm here to show them what love can be.
My name is Hunter, and if you ever threaten Kelly, if you even think about it, I'll hunt you down, and I'll kill you.
This is a full length romance novel with a happy ending and lots of surprise bonus content.

everything about this book was a waist of money. for the first time I couldn't stand to finish a book. narration was a mix of scary face and forest gump.if you deleted all the curse words there wouldn't be many left in the book.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
I'm an optimist so I think I deserve some sort of an award for actually making it all the way to Chapter 15.... but, by that time, I knew there was absolutely NO redeeming qualities to this listen. Bad boy Hunter stayed bad and he was more like an anti-Hero than a Hero and Kelly the Heroine was a tongue tied easy lay because she had sex with Hunter on her kitchen floor within an hour of serving him coffee and without uttering more than a few words to him. He wasn't charming, instead he was a dislikable cold cocky criminal, he beat up a couple of men for laying hands on Kelly.... and for that she trusted him, took him home and had brutal sex with him (with still only a handful of words passing between them) and only her pants came off. Even when Hunter had used her and 'finished', he just walked out leaving her crying on the floor!! No talk by Kelly of insisting on using a condom, contraception or thoughts of Hunter's many unsavory previous partners - nope... just a vacant lot where her brain should've been, tumbleweed and silence. And please don't get me started on the actual plot, the other characters.... or the narration. Dual POV's if you still care and, if this is a taste of the 'Romance' genre as viewed by a male Author, then I'm never touching another one.
Worth a credit? No.... not even if this was the only book on Audible's empty virtual bookshelves, not even if it was a freebie and not even if you paid me to listen to it.... um well now hold on - err ok but you'd have to be talking thousands.
Hunter's love for Kelly makes this book one hell of a romance. There is a lot of suspense in this story and Hunter heads it all. The narrator, Michael , is terrific. Between he and Chance.....you will be sitting on the edge of your seat.
Chance Carter's books are highly stylized and push the envelope to almost, but never over the edge into, parody. You'll either love them or hate them. "Heart of the Hunter" is his most over the top book to date. And yes, I loved it.
If you've never read Carter's books before, make sure you listen to an entire chapter or two before deciding whether or not these books are your cup of tea: you may be surprised.
Michael Pauley's narrations for Carter's books are always equal to this difficult task: how to express over the top emotion while pulling the listener along, craving to find out "what happens next". If you get a kick out of William Shatner as Captain Kirk, you will have a small hint of what to expect - though you should imagine the intensity multiplied two or three times.
Think of Hunter as the "Man with No Name" from the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns crossed with a love-crazed Ryan O'Neal from "Love Story", only with a working class Boston accent. No, this isn't real life. It's escapist fiction: prepare yourself to be entranced.
The book was just great I love how the voice actor changed his voice for the different characters and that it was a man voice actor and not a women because sometimes the women can't get thoughts lower voice ranges for men like they need to be!!! I would listen to this again was just great!!!
I love to read and listen to the books, but I think I like to listen to them. It has a good narrator and I love that Boston accent!
I loved how even though he is all tough and hard he can still feel something for her and looks past the fact that she has to take care of her kid brother.
Hunter was my favorite character with the Boston accent.
I was on edge a lot wanting to see what Hunter would do next and see if he would actually come back for Kelly.
I love Chance Carter he is an amazing writer and I love how he brings the over protective bruiting overbearing sexy side of the men out in the books he writes. They are always running from something or trying not to fall for the girl.LOL Which is funny b/c they always end up with what they didn't want. And the sex scenes are very descriptive and wow o wow that is all I will say about that. ;)
"HOT AND HEATED IN ALL ASPECTS"
WARNING IF YOU FIND SWEARING/SEXUAL/PHYSICAL WRITING THERE'S LOADS OF IT IN THIS STORY.
I PERSONALLY FOUND HART OF THE HUNTER SUBLIME INCLUDING MICHAEL PAULEY the narrator 😚😘😚😘
We meet Kelly who is a server in Grace's Diner & nut just that but Grace is like a mother to her, who brought her & Luke (Lucas) in after their patents died
And Hunter who's come into their sleepy town after he leaves Boston and his life of being what I see as a vigilanty when he doesn't do what his 'father' instructs and stole money from him and his father is after him.
Then he comes to Kelly's rescue and thus is where BOTH their lives changes for EVER especially when things become EVEN MORE HEATED in the physical part of the story.
I did love it
"Wow..... Hunter is badass!!!"
OMG!!! I liked the story line it was fast paced. Hunter was so badass. I loved how fired up he was all the time, he's a fly off the handle guy. I couldn't help but fall in love with his characteristics. A brilliantly narrated book, the narrator enhanced an already good book.
