Publisher's summary

Brittany Callaghan thinks she's dreaming when a blond, nearly seven-feet-tall Nordic god shows up on her doorstep in her tiny California town. He claims to be a barbarian warrior in need of her help.

Though a stunning, statuesque beauty herself, intelligent and independent Brittany has struggled hard to earn respect in a man's world. She is taken aback when Dalden, a spectacular Viking who is a long way from home, needs her help - and is willing to pay for it. He's had Brittany's blood running red-hot since she first saw him, and warrior or not, she agrees to help him.

As bold and brash as she is beautiful, Brittany isn't going to be subservient to any man, even one who is everything she ever wanted in a lover, and whose very touch sets her senses afire. Dalden is a warrior to the depths of his soul - proud, powerful and brave - a man who will fight fearlessly and relentlessly for what he wants. And now, what he wants most of all is Brittany....

Critic reviews

"Add a smart-mouthed computer, the burgeoning passion between the oh-so-different protagonists, and Heart of a Warrior offers a wild romp that only Lindsey could write. Fasten your seat belts and relish the ride!" (Amazon.com review)

to many ' feelings'. more please.

where are the other two? with the same vocalist, please. it's like these books were made for the way she reads them.

the repetition of the word 'feelings ' may make you 'feel' something unpleasant. heroin is impressively stubborn. if you have read the first two books you'll probally understand more, though the author does a good job of explaining things without rehashing everything.

really would like the other two books, please.

One of her more tedious books

Hardly any interaction with the main two characters. Most of the book is reviewing what happened in the prequels. Not one of her best works and I’m a fan.

Oh, if only I were into bots.....

Would you try another book from Johanna Lindsey and/or Laural Merlington?

Johanna Lindsey, yes, Laural Merlington, no.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It was hard to have one with the reading, however actually reading the book it is our steadfast hero.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Laural Merlington?

Michael Page was pretty good, I prefer when men read, dunno why.

Any additional comments?

So, I've read this book many, many times and have always loved it. However, the reader makes our very manly hero sound like a robot. Very, very distracting and it eventually got to the point that I was kind of making fun of it in my head when I knew there were going to be upcoming lines. *sigh* Excellent book to read on your own though!

Hard to finish

Now I remember why I couldn't finish the paperback version years ago. The other two books in this series were cute, campy, and fun, but this one was tedious. It's more commentary and world building than story. This is more of a story about Britney and Martha than Britney and Dalden, which is unfortunate given that this is a romance. Britney was unlikable and stupid and her paranoia and refusal to accept reality was beyond annoying. She should have straight up been written as a flat Earther. The narrator was a poor pick as well. She sounded like her last gig was Disney's 1946 educational film on menstruation. Her manner of speech managed to make Britney sound even dumber than she actually was, and she made Dalden sound like a robot.

UGH!

I love Johanna Lindsey's books, especially the Malory novels. But I cannot imagine what she was thinking with this book. The heroine is so stupid and annoying that I just have to stop listening for a while. After everything that she has seen she is still denying that what she sees is true and not some type of trick. Why would anyone go to the trouble of pulling such an elaborate hoax on her? To what end? I can barely stand it! I am going to finish this book(I think) because I just know it will redeem itself in the end? But this is definitely one that I will not listen to again. Give us another Malory book and ditch the Warrior!

Blah!

This is not what I expected from a Johanna Lindsey book - it was as if she was attempting to add a fantasy element, but it just didn't work - not her genre.

dissappointed

Well I wish I had listened to the reviews. Not in the slightest what I was expecting. I found the plot rather boring and the main girl half the time acting tough and half the time acting like a southern belle who will faint at the drop of a hat :(
Narration was good EXCEPT for our main man which yes she very very much makes him sound like a robot.

Sadly I wish I hadn't wasted the money buying this one or the time listening to it
