Publisher's summary

As publisher of the weekly London ladies' gazette Heart to Heart, Krista Hart is known for her outspoken views on such unpopular issues as social reform - risking her reputation and her very safety with every controversial article. She refuses to be intimidated, although she knows full well it makes her the target of angry opposition. When she encounters a powerful Viking descendant imprisoned as a local sideshow attraction, Krista angrily demands his release. Although she tells herself that freeing Leif Draugr is simply the right thing to do, she can't deny being attracted to the fierce Nordic chieftain, especially after her father transforms him into a "proper" English gentleman. But as anonymous threats against Krista become more and more aggressive, it is Leif who must face the enemies desperate to silence her, even as they push her closer into the embrace of a warrior prepared to do whatever it takes to make her his.

Critic reviews

"A fresh, clever plot, an appealing heroine, and a slightly-out-of-time hero combine to produce a charming, lightly suspenseful story that is sure to please Martin's ( Scent of Roses) fans." ( Library Journal)

Entertaining read. Great narration.

This was a good story. Kept me entertained and curious how it was going to play out. I liked Leif and Kristen together. They made a good match and had some good chemistry together.
Kristen was smart, spunky and had spirit. Leif was also smart and resourceful.

The story line and plot were interesting and different for this genre for sure. But I liked that about the book. Not a typical HR. Interesting how the author brought a viking into London England. There was a lot of dialogue throughout the book and it wasn't really full of angst either. It was a bit long at 12 hours.

As for the narration, Beverly Crick did a great job. She has become a favorite female HR narrator. The men sound like men, everyone gets their own distinct voice, she does great accents and has a nice reading voice.

Of honor.

What a surprise! I bought this and then for the longest time couldn't contemplate reading it with the caged wild man thing and ancient Viking out of no where without time travel twist. But it turns out that this all makes a twisted madcap sort of logically unbelievable sense. It was a good book. Totally unconventional and without an actual era that it fits in.... I don't think historically there was ever a moment in time that everything could have been happening, available, or in existence altogether, but it was okay. I mean, if you're a stickler for facts then go find non fiction..... this is one of those books totally for entertainment value.

Beverley A. Crick rocks it as usual!!!!

Very hot in all the right places.

Creditworthy? Yup!

A little heavy on the "contains mature content"

I have all of Kat's books, some hard cover, some dog eared paperback, and some audio and I treasure them all! Ive discovered she has the golden touch to produce unique, action filled, sexy books that don't resort to smut and border line porn. Kat has brought us varied points of time and handles them all superbly! This is the first historical romance I've read of Kats and I will definately be getting all of them. Kat has no streaks of repetitive, cookie cutter, foul mouthed scripts but instead produces lively, well written distinctive books! And the crowning touch to Heart of Honor is the happy ending! Just keep the controll of narrator selection. Many a good book has been passed over by the readers because the narrator butchered the book. The greatest author cannot survive a bad read so keep a tight reign on the narrators
Selection. Now for the next book in this series..........

ok.

The story wasn't all that bad. Reminded me of the Historicals Julie Garwood wrote with more sex. I didn't care for the narrating of the hero by Beverly A. Crick. She made him sound like a foreign dweeb.
I usually enjoy Kat Martin's books.
